This review of the ScentSationals Fall 2018 wax melts was previously only available to members of our Facebook group at https://www.facebook.com/groups/scentedwaxretail, but since the new Walmart winter/holiday wax melts are starting to come out, I've made this review available to everyone.

Caramel Apple Spice
https://www.walmart.com/ip/ScentSationals-2-5-oz-Caramel-Apple-Spice-Scented-Wax-Melts/660442879

Notes: Notes of sweet vanilla infused caramel, swirled with juicy ripe apples, a dash of cinnamon spice and deliciously accented by sugared sprinkles

This smells like a combination of last year's Harvest Moon, which smells like a combination of apple cider, rich salted caramel, molasses and brown sugar, and Pumpkin Apple Muffins (a super rich salty and slightly sweet butter caramel corn scent). I LOVE it!! The word "spice" in the scent name is kind of a misnomer, since it's not spicy and I don't detect cinnamon.

Throw: Bold, 5 out of 5, took over the house

Celebration Time
https://www.walmart.com/ip/ScentSationals-2-5-oz-Celebration-Time-Scented-Wax-Melts/814677888

Notes: A sweet citrus blend accented by soft greens, fresh berries, ginger sparkle with hints of white jasmine, cala lily, white woods and golden amber finished with candied vanilla and toasted sugar

This is weak on cold sniff and I have no idea what I'm smelling, but when melted I really like it. I couldn't figure out the scent, but then I realized it's pear! But it also has a hint of a warm slightly perfumey note. It doesn't smell like champagne at all, which is good. It's a beautiful scent, and I really like it. Looking at the scent notes, I can't believe I don't see pear!

It's NOT the same scent as these other ScentSationals and Better Homes & Gardens pear scents:
- ScentSationals Take Me To Paris duo "Pear Blossom" (that scent is more floral)
- Better Homes & Gardens Wild Honeysuckle Pear from early 2016
- ScentSationals Garden of Eden duo "Eden and Pear" from 2015 (that smelled more like apples)
- Pear Blossom Champagne (ScentSationals?) - Someone said PBC is sweeter.
- It has some similarities to this year's Better Homes & Gardens Pear Blossom Tea (which I also love), but it's not the same scent.

Throw: Strong, 3.5 to 4 out of 5

Cinnamon Pecans
https://www.walmart.com/ip/ScentSationals-2-5-oz-Cinnamon-Pecans-Scented-Wax-Melts/162902169

Notes: Warm cinnamon sticks, spicy crushed clove, and creamy nutmeg spun with toasted pecans and caramelized brown sugar, with mouthwatering sweet undertones of English toffee.

Cinnamon Pecans is very similar to Better Homes & Gardens Vanilla Caramel Spice (a nice sweet rich caramely cinnamony scent), but sniffing them side by side, Cinnamon Pecans has a bit more cinnamon.

Throw: Bold, 5 out of 5, took over the house

Cuddle Up
https://www.walmart.com/ip/ScentSationals-2-5-oz-Cuddle-Up-Scented-Wax-Melts/513404225

Notes: Classic notes of sweet cinnamon spice, crushed clove bud, sweet toasted nutmeg and bound by warm amber, rich cashmere musk and touched by shimmering white woods and opulent moss

The label looks a lot like ScentSationals Cashmere Cream from August 2016, but it's a totally different scent. I smell patchouli first, and a little bit of the oud (the label says "Tonka & Oud"), which is a dark resinous wood. But the intensity of the oud is tempered by a sweet perfumey note. I also smell a hint of the tonka (an intense dark vanilla with a caramel, almond, cinnamon and clove notes, and even a smidgen of cherry). It's an unusual, complex blend of notes, and I love it! Looking at the notes, I'm surprised I don't see patchouli because that's what I mostly smell.

Throw: Strong, 3.5 out of 5

Dancing Leaves
https://www.walmart.com/ip/ScentSationals-2-5-oz-Dancing-Leaves-Scented-Wax-Melts/627713199

Notes: An enticing autumnal blend of aromatic fir, warm balsam, and pure cedar wrapped with crisp green apple and aromatic leaves. Freshened with a touch of white orchard pear and harvest berry swirled together for this perfect fall blend.

This is a very common fall scent that I've smelled many times. It smells like really old apples that have fallen on the ground at the end of the season and mixed with brown leaves. But not in a bad way. It also has a hint of spices that make it smell a little that make it smell like apple cider, but the harsh raw unprocessed homemade slightly fermented craft cider. It's a nice fall scent.

Throw: Bold, 5 out of 5

Harvest Gathering
https://www.walmart.com/ip/ScentSationals-2-5-oz-Harvest-Gathering-Scented-Wax-Melts/278228195

Notes: A classic cornucopia of harvest goodness blending apple and ripe pear with sweet orange and crushed herbs, white pine, shimmering clove bud and cinnamon wrapped with toasted vanilla, spiced pumpkin and smoked warm woods

The label says "Pumpkins, Apples & Hayrides". But I'm not a fan of this scent. I don't smell any of those notes. It's smoky but also sour with a hint of a fruity note, but not enough to temper the sourness. There may also be a woodsy or even a pine note in there, but I don't know what that sourness is. It smells like Play Doh to me. When melted, there is a little bit of sweetness that comes through, but in a weird way.

Throw: Medium, 3 to 3.5 out of 5

Holiday Cookies
https://www.walmart.com/ip/ScentSationals-2-5-oz-Holiday-Cookie-Scented-Wax-Melts/291521793

Notes: Creamy cake batter spiced with grated ginger, sweet nutmeg, freshly ground cinnamon, melted butter, and allspice fused with rich vanilla extract and creamy buttercream. Simply baked to perfection with a light sprinkle of powdered sugar

If you're into bakery scents, this is quite nice. It smells like sweet warm vanilla cookies with a lot of cinnamon and even some nutmeg, giving it a little bit of a pumpkiny note. For me it's just "okay", and very similar to other cinnamony bakery scents.

Throw: Strong, 3.5 out of 5

Iridescent
https://www.walmart.com/ip/ScentSationals-2-5-oz-Iridescent-Scented-Wax-Melts/968619140

Notes: A sparkling blend of crisp fresh mint accented with hint of ginger. A light touch of spice and sweet rum followed by a creamy heart of coconut, vanilla and a sweet gourmand finish

Although the label says "Sparkling Spearmint & Vanilla Woods", I smell peppermint, not spearmint (which is good, because I'm not a fan of spearmint). And it's not an overly minty peppermint, more of a "soft" peppermint. It's a powdery, slightly buttery, very sweet milky vanilla buttercream peppermint scent, like a Buttermint candy. But it's not really a foodie scent because there's also a smidgen of light woods and a warm amber perfume note, so maybe what I'm thinking is the buttery note is really the amber. I love it, and it lasted 12 hours! I think this one is going to be everyone's favorite!! Looking at the scent notes, I'm surprised there aren't any woodsy notes.

This smells a lot like Goose Creek's Vanilla Wonderland scent, but it's not exactly the same. Comparing them side by side, Iridescent has a milky note that Vanilla Wonderland doesn't have, and Vanilla Wonderland is a tiny bit sweeter. But they're very close, and if you miss Vanilla Wonderland because it's discontinued, Iridescent is a close substitute!

Throw: Strong, 4 out of 5

Mistletoe Kisses
https://www.walmart.com/ip/ScentSationals-2-5-oz-Mistletoe-Kisses-Scented-Wax-Melts/921398498

Notes: Fresh black balsam and a fruity mix of iced cranberries, red currant, juniper berry and ripened raspberry. Accented by a mix of frosted apple on top and a base of vanilla bean and winter spruce

This smells like raspberry and cranberry with a bit of a pine note. It also has a hint of sourness, just enough to work with the scent instead of overpowering it. The fruit is probably supposed to be just cranberry, but I really smell raspberry first, with just a smidgen of the cranberry bitterness. It's just slightly sweet. A nice holiday scent! And it's one of those unusual types of scents that's actually not very strong, but throws very well. So from downstairs I can smell it melting upstairs, but it's very subtle.

Throw: Strong, 4 out of 5

Northern Lights
https://www.walmart.com/ip/ScentSationals-2-5-oz-Northern-Lights-Scented-Wax-Melts/197129260

Notes: Whipped vanilla, cinnamon, vetiver grass, and tangy blackberry, with underlying notes of white flower, absinthe, lively bergamot and finishing with an earthy whisper of black fig.

I knew what scent this was as soon as I smelled it on cold sniff: ScentSationals Midnight Summer from February 2017! It's even the same color, with similar notes (Midnight Summer notes: Figs layered with Indian jasmine, ballerina rose and green notes of absinthe... sometimes the notes don't mean much so even if some of them are different, it can still be the same scent), and the labels are a little similar too. It's a warm, slightly perfumey blackberry, very similar to 2016's Blackberry Cider, but sweeter, with maybe a smidgen of a "pink sugar" note. It also smells a little like Scentsy Luna, but richer and sweeter. I guess the sweetness I'm smelling is the jasmine and rose, although this is not a floral scent. It's lovely, and kind of "sexy"! I contacted ScentSationals and they said it's not the same scent as Midnight Summer, but most people have said they smell exactly the same.

Throw: Strong, 3.5 to 4 out of 5

Pumpkin Spice Cake
https://www.walmart.com/ip/ScentSationals-2-5-oz-Pumpkin-Spice-Cake-Scented-Wax-Melts/288098180

Notes: Spice cake fuses with freshly grated ginger root, brown sugar sweetened pumpkin, sparkling citrus orange, ground clove bud, grated cinnamon sticks and toasted allspice in a sweet vanilla bean batter

This smells like pumpkin pie with a little bit of a gingerbread note. It also has a little more nutmeg than some other pumpkin pie scents I've smelled.

Throw: Strong, 3.5 out of 5

Sugar Pumpkin Cronuts
https://www.walmart.com/ip/ScentSationals-2-5-oz-Sugared-Pumpkin-Cronuts-Scented-Wax-Melts/744504057

Notes: Slow-mulled apple and pumpkin fruit baked between flaky all-buttered pastry layers dusted with ground cinnamon, golden nutmeg and aromatic clove sprinkled with candied brown sugar, and a splash of warm vanilla

I think this one will be a hit. It smells a lot like ScentSationals Cider House Donuts from Fall 2016. I no longer have that scent, but I described it like this: "I can smell the donut dough with a bit of a sweet apple cider note, a pinch of cinnamon, and powdered sugar." Come to think of it, that's how I would describe Pumpkin Cronuts! Although I think this scent is more cinnamony and might have a hint of nutmeg to give it a little bit of a pumpkiny note.

Throw: Strong, 4 out of 5

Vanilla Bean Butterscotch
https://www.walmart.com/ip/ScentSationals-2-5-oz-Vanilla-Bean-Butterscotch-Scented-Wax-Melts/868816699

Notes: Hints of smooth vanilla bean, swirled with creamy butterscotch, hints of caramel and frosted buttercream accents sweetened with a tantalizing touch of pure sugarcane

A fantastic, rich buttery butterscotch scent, and strong on cold sniff. It's very similar to Better Homes & Gardens Butterscotch Maple Cream, and might in fact be the same scent. But I think Vanilla Bean Butterscotch is richer, although that might just be because the Butterscotch Maple Cream wax melt I have is a few years old. Throw is very good, 3.5 to 4 out of 5.

Throw: Strong, 3.5 to 4 out of 5

The following ScentSationals scents have returned from Fall 2016 and 2017 (and I reviewed them at https://www.scentedwaxmeltreviews.com/2016/12/walmart-scented-wax-melts-fall-2016-scentsationals-better-homes-gardens.html and https://www.scentedwaxmeltreviews.com/2017/08/scentsationals-fall-2017-scented-wax-melts-reviews.html):
Black Tux, Caramel Pumpkin Seeds, Honey Crisp Cider, Perfectly Pine, Pumpkin Apple Muffins, Pumpkin Marshmallow Cream, Pumpkin Spice, Red Hot Cinnamon, Spice It Up, Welcome

Videos

I bought these new Tuscany Candle Fall 2018 Limited Edition wax melts at Wegman's food store, but a couple of other stores carry them, including Menards and Kroger (but not Walmart, although Walmart may have a couple of Tuscany Candle Halloween scents).

When I reviewed the first three Tuscany Candle Fall 2018 scents, Wegman's only had those three. When I went back, I found the rest of them! Which is why I have two videos and two photos instead of one!

Apple Cider Donut

A nice yummy scent that smells more like gingerbread than a donut. Although there might be a hint of apple in it but I'm not sure if that's because I'm expecting it to be there.

Throw: 0 out of 5

Autumn Apple

Fantastic authentic crisp apple scent, like standing in the middle of an apple orchard. The most realistic apple scent I think I've ever smelled! I don't detect any other notes like cinnamon or caramel.

Throw: Strong, 3.5 out of 5

Autumn Mums

I adore this scent! It definitely doesn't smell like chrysanthemums though (which really don't have much of a scent). It's a sweet perfumey scent with a warm cashmere or amber note and rich vanilla that makes it smell yummy even though it's not a foodie scent. It may also have a barely noticeable smidgen of fruit like plum or blackberry.

Throw: Mild, 3 out of 5

Autumn Wreath

This smells almost exactly like Better Homes & Gardens Pure White Woods, and a little bit like ScentSationals Vanilla Woods. It's not really a fall scent. It smells like an expensive furniture store. I definitely smell the wood, but it's also sweet although not in a perfumey way. It's not a patchouli or tobacco or cologne type scent either. It's a fantastic scent.

Throw: Strong, 4 out of 5

Cranberry & Orange

Cranberry & Pine would have been a better name, because that's what this smells like. I don't smell orange at all. I like this scent, nice and Christmasy.

Throw: Medium, 3.5 out of 5

Fall Festival

I think Fall Festival and Falling Leaves are the same scent, just a basic pumpkin pie scent.

Throw: Strong, 3.5 out of 5

Falling Leaves

I think Fall Festival and Falling Leaves are the same scent, just a basic pumpkin pie scent.

Throw: Mild, 3 out of 5

Farmhouse Kitchen

I expected a spicy scent based on the name, but there's nothing kitcheny about this scent. It smells like sweet raspberry and grape juice! It's a nice scent though, and I like it.

Throw: Mild, 2.5 out of 5

Harvest Cider

A fake apple cider scent, but I like it. It smells like apple potpourri.

Throw: Mild, 3 out of 5

Harvest Hayride

This is a weird scent and I can't figure out the notes. It's kind of pumpkiny with maybe an old apple or apple cider note, but there's a strong earthy aromatic slightly savory spice of some kind that's taking over, with maybe a bit of ginger or even sage. It smells like an old Better Homes & Gardens scent called Enchanted Pumpkin Valley, and a Yankee Candle Home Inspirations scent from Walmart from September 2017 called Beautiful Fall Pumpkins.

Throw: Mild, 3 out of 5

Pumpkin Apple

This smells similar to Fall Festival and Falling Leaves in that it's a pumpkin pie scent. But on cold sniff I do smell a little bit of apple cider in the background. I like this one! It's a completely different type of scent from Better Homes & Gardens Farm Apple Pumpkin from Walmart. Melted, I don't smell the apple note and it's just another pumpkin pie scent.

Throw: Mild, 3 out of 5

Pumpkin Spice

I expected this to be a pumpkin pie scent, but it's really not, and that's a good thing. I do smell pumpkin spices first, but with a super sweet rich vanilla marshmallow note. I love this one!

Throw: 1 out of 5

Spiced Pear

This doesn't smell like pear at all. It smells like a super salty pretzel with maybe a hint of caramel and a barely detectable smidgen of apple. I've smelled this before. Wait, this is the same scent as ScentSationals Pumpkin Apple Muffins. Sniffing them side by side, I really can't tell the difference.

Throw: Strong, 3.5 to 4 out of 5

Sunflower Fields

This smells almost exactly like Autumn Mums. And it doesn't smell like sunflowers (which don't have much of a scent). I love them both. Side by side, Sunflower Fields is slightly sweeter, richer and more perfumey, so I like that one a little more.

Throw: Mild, 3 out of 5

Aldi Wax Melts Reviews - Fall 2018

Aldi Wax Melts Reviews - Fall 2018

Aldi Wax Melts - Fall 2018

Video

Aldi wax melts (Huntington Home brand) are made by Hanna's Candle. Aldi comes out with 4 scents three times a year (Spring, Summer and Fall… no Winter). The wax melts are very good quality because they're made by Hanna's!

Fall Nights

I thought this was the same scent as Hanna's Candle's Ember Glow (notes for Ember Glow are spiced wood, juniper, cinnamon, patchouli and vanilla), but now I'm not so sure. Like Ember Glow, it's a raw wood scent like pencil shavings, with leather, maybe oud wood, and possibly a smidgen of patchouli and sweet vanilla. Strangely, leather is not in the scent notes, and I don't smell any juniper/pine or cinnamon notes. Smelling Fall Nights and Ember Glow side by side, if they're not exactly the same scent, they're very close. Ember Glow is slightly more "intense", with the oud note that might be missing in Fall Nights (oud is a deep resinous tree sappy woodsy scent). Fantastic scent, and I think it's the best of the 4 new Aldi scents.

Throw: Mild, 3 out of 5

Maple Pumpkin

This smells like pumpkin pie, but slightly richer and sweeter, with a slight maple note and maybe even a smidgen of walnuts. Although when melted, it's really just a pumpkin pie scent, but a good one. It's not the same scent as Pumpkin Brulee from last year. I also don't think it's the same scent as Maple Pumpkin from September 2016 (https://www.scentedwaxmeltreviews.com/2016/09/aldi-huntington-home-scented-wax-melts-fall-2016.html), as I described that as more of an apple cider scent.

Throw: Strong, 3.5 out of 5

Plumberry

I thought this might be the same scent as Tuscan Vineyard from January 2017, which I described as grape juice or cheap wine with a waxy vinyl note. This is not the same scent. It does smell like grapes, but there's another fruit in there which may indeed be plum. It does not have a waxy or vinyl note either. I'm not a fan of grape scents, but I kind of like this one as it's unique and different from the usual fall type scents.

Throw: Strong, 3.5 out of 5

Warm Apple Pie

Notes: A warm blend of fresh-picked apples, dashed with spicy accents of warm nutmeg, cinnamon, clove, and allspice over a base of brown sugar and vanilla cream

A fake apple scent that smells a little like apple potpourri, rather than apple pie. It also has a smidgen of tartness that makes it smell a little like apple cider. Even though it's fake, it smells kind of nice. I believe it's the same scent as Warm Apple Pie from last year (https://www.scentedwaxmeltreviews.com/2017/10/aldi-wax-melts-reviews-fall-2017-huntington-home.html).
And I also believe it's the same as Hanna's Candle's Warm Apple Pie scent (not confirmed by Hanna's Candle), which can be found at http://www.candlemart.com.

Throw: Medium, 3.5 out of 5

Better Homes & Gardens Wax Melts Reviews - Fall 2018 (Part 1)

Better Homes & Gardens Wax Melts Reviews - Fall 2018 (Part 1)

Better Homes & Gardens (Walmart) Wax Melts - Fall 2018

Video

This is a review of most of the new Walmart Better Homes & Gardens scented wax melts Fall 2018 scents. At the time of this review, not all of the new scents had arrived at my Walmart, so this is Part 1 of 2. Part 2 can be found at https://www.scentedwaxmeltreviews.com/2018/09/better-homes-gardens-wax-melts-reviews-fall-2018-2.html.

Apple Cookie Crunch

https://www.walmart.com/ip/Better-Homes-Gardens-2-5-oz-Apple-Cookie-Crunch-Scented-Wax-Melts/927982896

Notes: Oatmeal and red apple mixed with warm all spice, grated nutmeg, aromatic cinnamon stick, crushed clove, brown sugar, warm butter and pure vanilla

This is a tart but authentic bakery apple scent, like a green Granny Smith apple turnover. I think I detect a hint of walnut, which can also be bitter. Looking at the scent notes, I do detect a little cinnamon, but no nutmeg or clove. Not sure about the oatmeal. I'm not a fan of this one because although it's a little sweet, I don't care for the tartness. Melted it smells better to me though, still a bit tart but not as much as on cold sniff.

Throw: Strong, 3.5 out of 5

Apple Crisp Tea

https://www.walmart.com/ip/Better-Homes-Gardens-2-5-oz-Apple-Crisp-Tea-Scented-Wax-Melts/875815206

Notes: Crisp apple and black tea leaves create a warming and comforting sensation while a touch of cinnamon adds dimension. Sweet accords of fresh pear and apple blossoms infuse the heart and lead into a comforting base of amber, vanilla and sheer musk

Based on the name I thought this was going to be just another apple bakery scent, but it's not. It's quite different from other apple scents I've smelled. It smells like an authentic fresh crisp apple with a floral or even slightly soapy note, but not really perfumey either. It's not the same as the old Better Homes & Gardens Apple Blossom Freesia scent at all. When melted, I guess there is something there that could be considered a tea note, but if I didn't know it was there I wouldn't detect it. I really like this scent.

Throw: Strong, 3.5 out of 5

Caramel Bread Pudding

https://www.walmart.com/ip/Better-Homes-Gardens-2-5-oz-Caramel-Bread-Pudding-Scented-Wax-Melts/834518260

Notes: Caramel drizzled over homemade bread and warm butter. Vanilla pudding is blended into the batter. Fresh-baked bread is topped off with grated nutmeg, sweet cinnamon and a hint of dark vanilla essence then sprinkled with brown sugar.

I really like this yummy scent! I smell sweet caramel and rich vanilla, with a smidgen of cinnamon and maybe brown sugar. It's not a salted caramel. I don't really smell bready or buttery notes, but if it's there it's very subtle. Looking at the scent notes, they're accurate!

Throw: Strong, 3.5 or 4 out of 5

First Woodland Frost

https://www.walmart.com/ip/Better-Homes-Gardens-2-5-oz-First-Woodland-Frost-Scented-Wax-Melts/425326068

Notes: Sparkling ozone shimmers with sun-sweetened Bosc pear and touches of golden apple resting upon the aquatic freshness of spearmint, garden mint leaves and soft pear blossom

Ooh, this is a yummy sweet rich sugary pear syrup scent with a warm perfumey note and maybe a fresh ozonic note in the background that keeps it from being too perfumey. There might be just a barely detectable smidgen of mint way in the background that gives this a crisp wintery feel. And I think there might be a hint of green apple that gives it just a smidgen of sourness, but not nearly enough to be annoying. Melted, it's a very rich scent with almost a caramel note, although it's not really a foodie scent. Looking at the scent notes, they're spot on. This is a fantastic scent that I think is going to be a best seller.

The new ScentSationals Celebration Time is also pear-based, but it's a completely different scent. With Celebration Time, the pear is much more subtle and it has more of a sweet warm cashmere perfumey note. First Woodland Frost is definitely pear first, and it also has that ozonic and slightly minty note.

Throw: Strong, 4 out of 5

Golden Sunlit Woods

https://www.walmart.com/ip/Better-Homes-Gardens-2-5-oz-Golden-Sunlit-Woods-Scented-Wax-Melts/801688205

Notes: Blending white woods, vanilla and warm musk with crisp accents of mandarin, cardamom and golden apple create this captivating scent. Blooming floral heart of jasmine blossoms, freesia, cyclamen and cedar leaf adds tranquility.

A nice sweet warm ambery perfumey scent with rich vanilla, a little bit of a cologney note, a tiny bit of an ozonic note, and maybe a barely detectable smidgen of fruit and wood. The scent started dissipating within about 2 hours.

Throw: Strong, 3.5 out of 5

Lemon Pumpkin Shortbread

https://www.walmart.com/ip/Better-Homes-Gardens-2-5-oz-Lemon-Pumpkin-Shortbread-Scented-Wax-Melts/973191208

Notes: Spiced pumpkin puree stirred with lemon and ginger zest then infused with buttery shortbread and baked with cinnamon and black clove, accented with vanilla bean and topped with lemon drizzle icing

Someone said it smells like a cross between Better Homes & Gardens Orange Buttercream Cupcake and popcorn. I thought based on that, that it might be a dupe of Better Homes & Gardens Candied Citrus Pumpkin from 2016, but it's not. It definitely smells like Orange Buttercream Cupcake (a fake but yummy orange Fruit Loops cereal type scent), but with a lemony note and a rich slightly salty note with a hint of nutmeg to give it just a smidgen of pumpkininess. Looking at the scent notes, I think I do detect a smidgen of ginger, not really shortbread although there may be a hint of bakery, and I don't smell cinnamon or clove. Melted, it just smells like a rich, lemony, slightly salty version of Orange Buttercream Cupcake, and I think it might end up being just as popular!

Throw: Bold, 5 out of 5

Pumpkin Honey Butter

https://www.walmart.com/ip/Better-Homes-Gardens-2-5-oz-Pumpkin-Honey-Butter-Scented-Wax-Melts/643189893

Notes: Sweet and warm all spice fragrances, stirred with pumpkin butter and honey with spices of clove bud, nutmeg and cinnamon. Tonka bean and vanilla cream soothes in the background.

This is weak on cold sniff, so I can't really tell what I'm smelling. It smells kind of like burnt marshmallow. When melted, yes definitely a burnt kind of sweet scent like marshmallow. I'm not sure if I detect honey, but I definitely don't smell pumpkin. It smells slightly like ScentSationals Pumpkin Marshmallow Cream, but with much less scent, and burnt. I'm not a fan.

Throw: Faint, 2 out of 5

Pumpkin Marshmallow Topping

https://www.walmart.com/ip/Better-Homes-Gardens-2-5-oz-Pumpkin-Marshmallow-Topping-Scented-Wax-Melts/474100436

Notes: Swirls of pumpkin spice, sweet marshmallow cream, coconut milk and vanilla. Toasted almond, cinnamon sugar and davana add dimension while sweet sugar crystals

I'm sure this is a dupe of an older scent, but I don't know which one. It smells like snowball cookies, which are rich buttery melty shortbread pecan cookies rolled in powdered sugar. I don't smell pumpkin or spices at all, and not even marshmallow. It's a nice rich yummy scent. It smells a lot like the Michael's Ashland brand Winter White Cookies trio from November 2016. It also smells like Better Homes & Gardens Cranberry Cookie Crumble from November 2016. Sniffing PMT and CCC side by side, they're quite similar but not exactly the same. CCC is a little sweeter and richer with a hint of a brown sugar note, while PMT has more of the buttery pecan note and a hint of milkiness.

Throw: Strong, 3.5 out of 5

Pumpkin S'Mores Latte

https://www.walmart.com/ip/Better-Homes-Gardens-2-5-oz-Pumpkin-Smores-Latte-Scented-Wax-Melts/970002718

Notes: Warm pumpkin puree, toasted marshmallow, graham cracker accord and milk latte. Sweet cinnamon & shaved nutmeg infuses flavor while whipped vanilla creme adds the perfect finishing touch

Why so many marshmallowy scents this season? Pumpkin Honey Butter, Pumpkin Marshmallow Topping, and Pumpkin S'Mores Latte all smell similar to each other. This one smells like graham crackers and marshmallows with possibly a smidgen of cinnamon. I don't smell coffee at all, or even pumpkin. Maybe a hint of apple? This one also has a tiny bit of that burnt note like Pumpkin Honey Butter, but much more subtle, so it must be the marshmallow causing that. Looking at the scent notes, no apple.

Throw: Medium, 3.5 out of 5

Sunlit Meadow Trail

https://www.walmart.com/ip/Better-Homes-Gardens-2-5-oz-Sunlit-Meadow-Trail-Scented-Wax-Melts/737317382

Notes: White mahogany, aromatic birch wood, crisp juniper berry and fresh green balsam shimmer with fragrant herbs, touches of sparkling citrus, green moss, and smooth ambered sandalwood

This smells just like a nice shampoo, body wash, or air freshener. It's fresh with a slightly salty ozonic note, a hint of a soapy and maybe peppery note, a smidgen of floral, and possibly a smidgen of apple or apple blossom. But although it's a little sweet it's not perfumey. This is a perfect scent for the bathroom, and I really like it.

Throw: Strong, 4 out of 5

Sweet Blackberry Bourbon

https://www.walmart.com/ip/Better-Homes-Gardens-2-5-oz-Sweet-Blackberry-Bourbon-Scented-Wax-Melts/184238524

Notes: Sweet and tart blends infusing blackberry and pumpkin with red currant, davana, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger and clove. Sandalwood, aged oak barrel and a touch of vanilla bean adds the perfect balance. But the candle notes are blackberry, red currant, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, clove, sandalwood, oak, and vanilla make up this sweet, fruity, and slightly herbaceous scent

This smells like mulberry and cinnamon, and maybe a bit of cranberry. It's not a "bourbon" or alcohol type of scent, and not even blackberry. It's a little sweet, and it's quite cinnamony. Definitely a holiday scent. I believe it's a dupe of a holiday scent from 2014 or 2015 (I forget the name). This one took over 2 hours to throw fairly well. For the first 2 hours or so, throw was very mild and I could barely smell it.

Throw: Medium, 3.5 out of 5

These are the scents I'm still waiting for, and will review them  as well:
  • Chilled Pomegranate Wine
  • Mahogany & Sandalwood
  • Warm Velvet Pomegranate
  • Spiced Vanilla Embers
  • Aloha Pineapple Pumpkin
  • Dark Midnight Skies
  • Woodland Forest Floor duo - Fallen Leaves & Green Moss

These 2 scents will probably arrive in November:
  • Creamy Marshmallow Cocoa ("Holiday Edition")
  • Warm Fireside Flurries

I'm not sure if these 2 scents will be available in wax melts, or just candles:
  • All Things Nice
  • Vermont White Spruce
  • Lavender & Freesia
  • Country Gingerbread Cookie

Video:

Everyone should have at least a couple of Trapp Fragrances wax melts in their scented wax melt collection. These are high quality luxury melts. They are not scents that you melt in your kid's room or put by the cat litter box. They're meant to be savored, like a fine wine! So get out the champagne, draw a bath, and enjoy your holiday season with the sophisticated scent of Trapp Fragrances wax melts.

For more details about Trapp Fragrances wax melts in general, take a look at my reviews for their regular scents, at http://www.scentedwaxreviews.com/2017/07/trapp-fragrances-wax-melts-reviews.html.

Fireside Pumpkin

Description: Smoking white birch logs and New England pumpkin create a warm and inviting fragrance.
Notes: New England Pumpkin, Smoky Pumpkin Spices, Glowing Embers

This is definitely not a "typical" fall pumpkin scent. I do smell pumpkin spices and just a smidgen of smokiness (not as smoky as I expected based on the scent name), but there's also a sweet creamy note. Wait, this smells like eggnog! It's not exactly like eggnog, as there's a bit of woodsy note in the background, but it's a fantastic scent.

Throw: Very Good, 3 or 3.5 out of 5

Golden Cypress

Description: Create a holiday ambience with the intoxicating aroma of fresh cypress sprigs and golden citron fruit.
Notes: Citron Zest, Green Cypress, Siberian Fir

Orange and pine is one of my favorite scent combinations, and this one is fantastic. I smell the pine first, with just a hint of citrus in the background. The citrus note is a very subtle orange rind note rather than a juicy orange. And there's also a little bit of a woodsy note too. Fantastic scent!

Throw: Very good, 3 or 3.5 out of 5

Hearth

Description: Notes of autumn leaves, wild black currant, crushed nutmeg and sweet apricot comfort with feelings of family and memories of home.
Notes: Wild Black Currant, Crushed Nutmeg, Autumn Leaves

I can't figure out this scent. It's sweet and smoky, but not smoky like a fireplace, more like that liquid smoke you put on food. And it's not overly smoky, which is good. There might also be a hint of fruit like strawberry, and maybe a smidgen of cloves. Looking at the scent notes, the fruit I'm smelling is currant, and the cloves I'm smelling is nutmeg. It's an interesting, "cozy" scent.

Throw: Very good, 3 or 3.5 out of 5

Holiday

Description: Cinnamon sticks, spiced raisins and gingerbread make this a vibrant and spicy blend
Notes: Cinnamon Stick, Gingerbread, Bourbon Vanilla

My Review: I'm not a fan of cinnamon scents, but this one is very nice. It's a sweet, rich cinnamon scent with a slight clove note for warmth. It's "kind of" a candy scent, but definitely not a Big Red gum or Red Hot Cinnamon scent. Nor is it a bakery scent. I do smell the vanilla in this one, and I think it's the bourbon that takes it to a different level.

Throw: Excellent, 3.5 or 4 out of 5

Lemon Sugar Cookie

Description: Tart lemon balances the sweetness of oven-baked cookies drizzled with frosting.
Notes: Lemon Zest, Baked Cookie, Warm Sugar

A nice sweet lemon scent. I don't really smell the bakery notes, so it doesn't smell like a cookie to me, but that's okay. It's a great scent!

Throw: Very good, 3 or 3.5 out of 5

Orange Clove

Description: The classic combination of juicy orange and freshly ground clove warms your senses.
Notes: Juicy Orange, Freshly Ground Clove, Cinnamon

This smells like sweet cinnamon with a subtle orange note. It's not a citrusy orange. I also detect a smidgen of clove. It smells like orange pomander, but a much better version. Pomander scents sometimes have a weird nauseating soapy note, and this one does not. It's very nice!

Throw: Excellent, 3.5 or 4 out of 5

White Fir

Description: White fir essence fills your room with the refreshing, cool sensation of a winter forest.
Notes: Frasier Fir, Balsam Wood, Cool Ozonic Notes

A nice Christmas tree scent with a hint of smokiness.

Throw: Excellent, 3.5 or 4 out of 5

Tuscany Candle Halloween 2017 Scented Wax Melts Reviews

Tuscany Candle Halloween 2017 Wax Melts Reviews

Tuscany Candle Halloween 2017 Scented Wax Melts

These are reviews of some (or most) of the Tuscany Candle Halloween 2017 scented wax melts. I found all but two of these scents at Walmart for $1.84. They're in the Halloween and fall decor section of the store, not with the regular candles and wax melts. Some Walmarts might have them mixed in with the candles and wax melts, and other Walmarts might have them on an end cap in Housewares or some other area of the store. They're hard to find since only a few of each scent are brought out at a time. But if you're frustrated at not having been able to find them, don't fret. You're not missing anything. The throw (how far you can smell the scent when it's melting) is awful for just about all of these.

I suspect that most (if not all) of the Tuscany Halloween scents that I got from Walmart are very old. They have the same label as the ones I bought in 2015, still showing the brand Langley/Empire Candle LLC even though the company was renamed Empire Brands Co. last year. The throw on these scents was weak even in 2015, although if Walmart has a bunch of these old wax melts in their warehouse that they bring out every September, the throw is going to be even weaker.

I did two separate videos because I found additional scents after I'd already done the first video, and I'd already returned the first batch of scents by that time:

Videos

Boo-Brownies
A generic chocolate scent with a fake note. Not bad, but I've smelled better chocolate scents. Throw was not good, 2 out of 5.

Candy Corn
This does smell like candy corn, but it's actually just a very sweet vanilla scent with a slight chemical note (not a rich buttercream scent though). Nice scent, but throw was fair, 2.5 or 3 out of 5.

Caramel Apple
I nice fake apple or pear candy scent with caramel. I got this at Walmart for $1.84. Throw was poor, maybe a 2 out of 5.

Pumpkin Pie
Despite the name, this is not a pumpkin pie scent at all. It's another fake apple or pear scent with caramel, but this one doesn't smell like candy, more like a bakery scent with a warm note and perhaps a smidgeon of pumpkin spice. It's a nice scent, and it's similar to Better Home & Gardens Farm Apple Pumpkin. Throw was good, 3 out of 5.

Pumpkin Apple
This is just a generic apple cider scent. No pumpkin. They should have just called it apple cider. It's a nice scent though. Throw was not good, 2 out of 5.

Pumpkin Latte
I smell a rich buttery caramel/butterscotch with vanilla buttercream and a little bit of cinnamon, and smidgen of nut. I think I also detect a tiny bit of a creamy milky sweet coffee note, but I'm not sure. No pumpkin though. Fantastic yummy scent. Unfortunately, throw was poor, maybe 1 out of 5.

Pumpkin Spice
A pumpkin pie scent. It's slightly different from many of the other pumpkin pie scents out there as I detect a hint of sweet vanilla. Throw was fair, 2.5 or 3 out of 5.

Monster Cookie
This is not pictured or in my video because I couldn't find this scent this year. But I did buy it a few years ago from JoAnn Fabric. It's a rich vanilla cookie with a nutty note. A nice scent, and not overly sweet. Throw was not good, 2 or maybe 2.5 out of 5.

Poison Apple (Trick or Treat)
I can barely smell anything on cold sniff or when melted. It smells a little like a sour apple candy. Throw was 1 out of 5 for maybe 20 minutes, but after that I put my nose a few inches from the warmer and could barely smell anything except sweet wax. I got this as Wegman's food store for $2.99.

Witch's Brew (Happy Halloween)
I can barely smell anything on cold sniff or when melted. I detect a fake apple note but it's not a very sweet apple. Throw was 1 out of 5 and might not even perform well in a tiny room. I got this as Wegman's food store for $2.99.

Tuscany Candle Fall 2017 Wax Melts Reviews

Tuscany Candle Fall 2017 Wax Melts Reviews

Tuscany Candle Fall 2017 Wax Melts

Video:

Tuscany Candle wax melts can be found at various stores, including JoAnn Fabric, Christmas Tree Shops, Wegman's, Meijer's, and some gift and card shops.

Autumn Slumber
This is a smoky scent but I can't figure out the other note. It's not a woodsy scent, and it's not sweet at all. Maybe balsam? But it's not a pine scent either. The other note is a little sour but not in a bad way. Maybe some kind of savory spice like sage or rosemary, I just don't know. It's a nice scent, not my favorite but I think a lot of people will like this one. Throw was excellent, 3.5 or 4 out of 5.

Chai Latte
This does not smell like chai or tea of any kind. It's most likely an older scent re-used with a new name. But it smells great. It's caramel with a hint of pecan and a barely noticeable touch of cinnamon. It's not overly rich or overly sweet, and not a salty caramel. Unfortunately, throw was poor, 2 out of 5.

Cinnamon Cider Donut
I can't believe their quality control team didn't pick up on the misspelling of "Cinnamon" on the front label (they spelled it "Cinnmon" without the "a"). As far as the scent, it's a nice apple cider scent with a sweet bready cinnamon donut note. Throw was very good, 3 or 3.5 out of 5.

Fall Festival
This smells like straight sweet cinnamon, like cinnamon candy, with maybe a hint of pumpkin spice. Throw was excellent, 3.5 or 4 out of 5.

Harvest Pumpkin
A nice sweet rich pumpkin pie scent with cinnamon and maybe a hint of caramel. Throw was very good, 3 or 3.5 out of 5.

Harvest Vineyard
I think this is the same scent as Cobblestone Candles Live, Love, Laugh from Kirkland's. It smells like grape juice made with concord grapes (a richer more succulent grape scent). It's not a wine scent at all, and thankfully it doesn't have that wine fermentation note that makes wine scented wax melts smell sour. Melted, it had kind of a fake grape note. And throw was fair, 2.5 or 3 out of 5.

Honeycrisp Apple
A fresh sweet apple scent with a little bit of cinnamon. It's a nice scent, although a typical fall apple scent. Throw was only good, 3 out of 5, which is a bit disappointing because apple scents in general usually have excellent throw.

Sunday Pancakes
This is the same scent as the Food Network "Sunday Morning Pancakes" scent that came out a few years ago (Food Network melts are discontinued). Kirklands store also has a Sunday Pancakes candle (no melts) under the Cobbletone Candle brand. Why the same scent among these three brands? Because Tuscany Candle, Food Network, and Cobblestone Candle candles and melts (as well as Sonoma brand at Kohls, and Hallmark brands) are all manufactured by the same company, Empire Brands Co. (formerly Langley Empire Candle) (https://empirebrandsco.com/).

On cold sniff, this scent smells like moldy pancakes. But when it's melted, that odd moldy note dissipates, and you're left with an unbelievably authentic pancake scent! It smells like dry pancakes without any toppings, although there's just a hint of butter and maple syrup, but not enough to be a rich sweet bakery scent. It's a fantastic scent. Throw was excellent, 3.5 or 4 out of 5.

Vanilla Birch
I smell balsam (a subtle woodsy pine note) with a mossy note that smells a little like garden mint, but it's not really mint. There's also a very slight smoky note. It's a fantastic, cozy scent. It's not a sweet scent at all, and I don't smell vanilla. It's similar to Better Homes & Gardens Winter's Sleigh Ride from November 2016. Throw was fair, 2.5 or 3 out of 5.

Hanna's Candle Pumpkin Palooza Fall 2017 Scented Wax Melts Reviews

Hanna's Candle Pumpkin Palooza Fall 2017 Scented Wax Melts Reviews

These Hanna's Candle wax melts are only available in their new smaller 1.25 oz. size (like Walmart's Mainstays wax melts). But unlike the Mainstays melts, which are soft and messy, the Hanna's melts use hard wax. Hanna's Candle (CandleMart) melts can be found on their website at https://candlemart.com/collections/candles-melts/no-wick.

Watch video below:

Cinnamon Pumpkin Tart

Notes: Fresh pumpkin, clove, nutmeg, cinnamon bark, vanilla whipped cream, golden graham

Review: This is mostly a cinnamon scent, but it's a nice "cinnamon powder" cinnamon roll type scent. Sweet and a little rich, with a little clove and nutmeg. It's a very nice scent, not a harsh "Big Red" or "Red Hot" cinnamon scent at all. I'm not a fan of straight cinnamon scents, and I like this one!

Throw: Excellent, 3.5 or 4 out of 5

Creamy Pumpkin Butter

Notes: Fresh pumpkin, cardamom, nutmeg and pure vanilla extract

Review: A sweet rich buttery pumpkin scent with nutmeg, but not overly spicy, and not nauseatingly rich, and not really salty either like a lot of pumpkin scents can be. Very nice!

Throw: Good, 3 out of 5

Pumpkin Caramel Parfait

Notes: Pumpkin spice blended with buttery caramel, honeyed cream and vanilla.

Review: A sweet caramely vanilla scent with a hint of pumpkin spice. It's not overly rich and doesn't have the salty notes that a lot of pumpkiny scents have.

Throw: Very Good, 3 or 3.5 out of 5

Sweet Pumpkin Roll

Notes: Brown Sugar combines with buttercream and sweet lemon to create a complex fragrance laced with pumpkin accord, ginger, and nutmeg with hints of vanilla, pecan, and sugarcane

Review: This is the same as the Mainstays Pecan Pumpkin Cake scent from Walmart (which is also a dupe for Bath & Body Works Pumpkin Pecan Waffle). Fun Fact: Mainstays melts are made by both MVP Group Intl. and Hanna's Candle. MVP Group Intl. also makes wax melts for Colonial Candles, Living Colors (Big Lots), True Living (Dollar General), K-Mart and Sears brands, and some dollar store brands. I don't know which scents are provided by which manufacturer, but clearly the Mainstays Pecan Pumpkin Cake is made by Hanna's Candle. It's a super rich milky caramel scent with a nutty note. Looking at the scent notes, yep, there's the nuttiness of the pecan. I don't smell lemon at all. Fantastic scent!

Throw: Excellent, 4 out of 5

ScentSationals Fall 2017 Scented Wax Melts Reviews

ScentSationals Fall 2017 Scented Wax Melts Reviews

ScentSationals Fall 2017 Scented Wax Melts

Watch video below:

This is a review of the ScentSationals Fall 2017 Scented Wax Melts from Walmart (which may also be available on the ScentSationals website at http://www.scentsationals.com). I don't have the scent notes yet, but I will add them later if and when they show up on the Walmart or ScentSationals website. I also did a separate review of the new Better Homes & Gardens Fall 2017 Scented Wax Melts.

Apple Butter

Notes: Sweet harvest apple, sparkling pear, with warm notes of cognac and brown sugar-vanilla

A nice tart apple that actually smells more like pear, with a smidgeon of sweet caramel. I think this really smells like apple butter, although some people have said it's not a authentic because it doesn't have enough spices (I haven't had apple butter in many years, so I forget!). Melted, it does smell more like the juice of tart pears with just a little sweetness, and I don't smell as much of the caramel. It's a nice scent! Looking at the scent notes... there's the pear!

Throw: Very Good, 3 or 3.5 out of 5 (although several people are saying this did not throw well for them)

Black Tux

Notes: An elegant blend of bergamot, fresh marines notes, and spicy florals, with delicate notes of white sandalwood and ambered musk

This is a dupe of a much older scent but I don't know which one (it's not ScentSationals Ebony Woods or ScentSationals Rebel). It's a nice fresh cologne scent that's not overly sweet and has just a smidgeon of smokiness. Melted, it's fresh but yet kind of "dark" with maybe a barely detectable smidgeon of leather or something similar. Even if you don't like cologne scents, you might like this one because it's not too sweet or overly cologney. I can't find the scent notes online.

Throw: Excellent, 4 out of 5, and lasted at least 12 hours!

Cranberry Oatmeal Cookie

Notes: A full bodied and smooth fragrance blended with creamy oatmeal, fresh juicy red currant berries, butterscotch, farm-fresh milk notes, nutty almond and rich vanilla

This is going to be everyone's new favorite. Hoard this one! I smell cranberry first, but it's kind of a candyish cranberry, sweet and sugary and slightly tart, but not that bitter tartness that can be offputting with a lot of cranberry scents. I also smell the oatmeal and maybe a smidgeon of nuts, and a sweet rich slightly buttery cookie note. It's a tiny bit similar to last year's Better Homes & Gardens Cranberry Cookie Crumble. Cranberry Cookie Crumble was a rich buttery vanilla cookie scent with a slight berry note and a smidgeon of nut and caramel. But with the new Cranberry Oatmeal Cookie, I smell the cranberry first, with that slight tartness, plus oatmeal, and the cookie note is not as buttery. Looking at the scent notes, it doesn't actually contain a cranberry scent, but a red currant berry scent (which is not as sweet or tart as cranberries). And there's almond, the nutty note I'm detecting.

Throw: Very Good, 3 or 3.5 out of 5

Harvest Moon

Notes: Super sweet, freshly sliced McIntosh apples wrapped with a cinnamon spice and pumpkin complex sweetened with caramel fragrance

This smells a lot like the Pumpkin Apple Muffins scent so of course I like it. It's not nearly as salty as Pumpkin Apple Muffins though (which smells like really salty pretzels), although it does have a salty note, and the main note is apple cider with some mulling spices. It's like apple cider mixed with a little Pumpkin Apple Muffins. Or salty pretzels made with apple cider (if there were such a thing).

Throw: Very Good, 3 or 3.5 out of 5

Honey Crisp Cider

Notes: Warm notes of ground cinnamon, peppered clove, and roasted nutmeg swirl with the essence of sweet cider apples and brown sugared vanilla bean

The first time I smelled this on cold sniff, I thought it was not a typical cider scent, but more like super sweet apple juice with just a hint of cider, and a smidgeon of woodsiness but not smoky. But now that I'm sniffing it again the next day, it's definitely cider, with that slightly sour mulling spices note, but I do smell a hint of wood in the background. Melted, though, it just smells like apple cider with mulling spices.

Throw: Very Good, 3 or 3.5 out of 5

Praline Spice

Notes: Fresh chopped pecans stirred with cinnamon sugar and drizzled in creamy butter caramel infused with vanilla bean and sweet toffee

The label says "Cinnamon Bark & Vanilla Cream" even though there's a chocolate macaroon on the label! It's a super rich sweet cinnamon caramel scent with a slightly salty note. Very nice! Even if you don't care for cinnamon scents, you might really like this one as it smells a bit like a Cinnabon cinnamon roll. Actually, I think this is the same scent as an older ScentSationals scent called Cinnamon Bun. It also smells almost exactly like Better Homes & Gardens Vanilla Caramel Spice, although Praline Spice is a little better, slightly richer and saltier.

Throw: Excellent, 5 out of 5, took over the entire house.

Pumpkin Patch Maze

Notes: Fresh harvest pumpkin gently lifted by the woody aroma of turning leaves and woodland bark infused with the earthy evergreen scent of pinecones

This is a super salty, rich scent like a fresh pretzel with tons of salt on it. It's not very sweet. I liked it when I first sniffed it, but this morning when I sniffed it, it's like salt overload. Even before it was finished melting, I started smelling it throughout the house, but I had to remove it as it was way too salty and rich for me. Someone pointed out that this is the same as the old ScentSationals "Roasted Chestnuts" scent, and sniffing them side by side, they're almost exactly the same, except I detect a nutty note in Roasted Chestnuts that I really like, but I don't detect that note in Pumpkin Patch Maze.

Throw: Excellent, 5 out of 5, took over the entire house.

Pumpkin Spice

Notes: A creamy harvest pumpkin gleaming with spicy hints of warm cinnamon and aromatic clove over delightfully rich vanilla, smooth buttercream and a touch of brown sugar

This is an older scent that comes back every fall. It's a nice typical pumpkin pie type scent that smells a little more like pumpkin bread. In fact, a picture of pumpkin bread is on the label. Sweet, salty, pumpkiny and bready with just a smidgeon of cinnamon and nutmeg.

Throw: Excellent, 5 out of 5, scent monster that took over the entire house

Red Hot Cinnamon

Notes: Aromatic notes of bright red hot cinnamon accented by crushed clove bud, sweet allspice, and a touch of shimmering nutmeg

This is an older scent that has returned. It's pure cinnamon with a sweet candy note and a bit of "heat", like red hot cinnamon candies. It smells almost exactly like Better Homes & Gardens Spicy Cinnamon Stick (also an old scent that has returned), and may in fact be the same scent. But I think Red Hot Cinnamon has a slightly warmer note, like maybe a smidgeon of cloves. And looking at the scent notes, there's the cloves.

Throw: Very Good, 3 or 3.5 out of 5

Rustic Cabin Kitchen

Notes: Dark coffee laced with gently spiced cardamom and nutmeg swirls with oriental amber, coumarin, and smoked woods over rich vanilla bourbon supported by earthy patchouli, and hints of black tar softened with leather and cashmere

On cold sniff I smell patchouli along with a hint of a foodie note like caramel or vanilla. It smells a little like ScentSationals Patchouli Woods Fusion, mixed with a foodie note. It's not overly sweet, and it has a smidgen of a cologne note. Fantastic scent! Looking at the scent notes, I don't smell coffee, although there sure are a lot of notes in this one so coffee might be somewhere way in the background.

Throw: Good, 3 out of 5

Spiced Cupcakes

Notes: Fresh-from-the-oven cake spiced with sugared cinnamon, crushed clove, and bright ginger topped with cream cheese frosting and candied orange zest.

This smells just like gingerbread! What else can I say? It smells great!

Throw: Excellent, 3.5 or 4 out of 5

Welcome

Notes: Sweet orchard apple embellished with spicy clove, crushed cinnamon, tart cranberry, and a splash of winter pear gleams with rich nuances of aromatic evergreen and soft balsam

Not to be confused with the older scent called Welcome Home, this is a sour pungent apple scent with a slight woodsy note, like overripe (ok, spoiled) apples that have fallen on the ground. There might also be a hint of cloves and a very slightly soapy note. It's only very slightly sweet, but barely. This one is too sour and pungent for my tastes.

Throw: Excellent, 4 out of 5

This is a review of the Better Homes & Gardens Fall 2017 Scented Wax Melts from Walmart. I don't have the scent notes yet, but I will add them later if and when they show up on the Walmart website. I will also be doing a review of the ScentSationals Fall 2017 scents separately.

A Thankful Harvest

This scent came out several years ago and has returned this year. It's a very nice, rich, buttery pumpkin scent with a hint of nutmeg. It's not very sweet though, so not really like pumpkin pie, but more like the buttery crust of the pumpkin pie. I couldn't find scent notes for this one.

Throw: Excellent, 5 out of 5, a scent monster that took over the entire house

Around the Campfire

Notes: A cool fall evening breeze infused with caramelized marshmallows joins the scent of gently smoked hickory, birch and oak wood wrapped with ambered myrrh and olibanum.

A smoky salty sweet marshmallowy scent with a smidgen of a cologney note. I can smell the graham cracker! The marshmallow is not as "authentic" as I'd like though, but then again the scent name is just "Around the Campfire", although there's a picture of marshmallows over a campfire on the label. It's an "okay" scent to me, but not my favorite.

Looking at the scent notes, "olibanum" is another name for frankincense, which is a woody mentholic herbal medicinal tree sap scent. Myrrh is a resinous spicy balsamic scent. I think it's these two notes that make this scent smell a bit "off" for me. I don't like my marshmallows smelling like menthol or tree sap.

Throw: Very good, 3 or 3.5 out of 5

Aspen Evergreen Walk

Notes: Fresh notes of crushed fir needle, warm woods and luminous woodland herbs are cooled by a crisp, ozonic autumn breeze infused with soft wood smoke highlights and pure ambered musk.

A fresh crisp biting eucalyptus pine. I think this is the same scent as an old discontinued ScentSationals (and AmbiEscents) scent called Sugar Pine. It's a bit too "biting" for me.

Throw: Not Good, 2 or 2.5 out of 5, which is surprising for this type of scent.

Banana Pumpkin Bread

Notes: This delicious scent blends warm banana bread and pumpkin puree with golden honey, shaved cinnamon and brown sugar. Vanilla bean and caramel swirl infuses a creamy richness.

A rich buttery banana bread scent with a salted caramel note. OMG it's incredible! There may be a smidgen of pumpkin spice, but barely detectable. This is really not a pumpkin scent.

Throw: Very good, 3 or 3.5 out of 5

Cinnamon Apple Dumpling

Notes: Slow-baked orchard apples warmed with fresh-ground cinnamon, golden nutmeg and aromatic clove swirled in brown sugar, butter pastry and vanilla sugar

This is a dupe of an older apple pie type scent, maybe ScentSationals Warm Apple Pie, not sure. It's rich and sweet and apply with cinnamon and cloves and a bakery note, just like an apple pie. It's not a fake apple pie scent. Very nice.

Throw: Excellent, 5 out of 5, a scent monster that took over the entire house

Crisp Fall Leaves

Notes: Crisp autumn apple, lustrous greens and smooth woodland elements infused with balsamic evergreen, ambered leaves, juicy berry and cinnamon-spiced vanilla

This scent came out a few years ago and has returned. It's a biting, slightly sour pine scent with a sour woodsy note with a little smokiness. It smells a lot like ScentSationals Mountain Twilight. Looking at the scent notes, it might be the "balsamic" note that gives it the smoky sourness I don't like.

Throw: Excellent, 5 out of 5, a scent monster that took over the entire house

Fall Into Autumn

Notes: Golden acorns and crisp green apple that combine with warm notes of smooth applewood and red cedar nestled with aromatic leaves, white orchard pear and gently spiced harvest berry

This scent came out last year and has returned this year. The label shows apples and chestnuts. I do smell a little bit of apple, but it's like old apples that fell on the ground. It's not a sweet scent at all. It's sour and a little bit woodsy with a slight sagey pine note. It smells a little bit like Crisp Fall Leaves but not as biting, and with the slight apple note.

Throw:  Excellent, 4 out of 5

Farm Apple Pumpkin

Notes: Ripe and ready, farm fresh apples and pumpkins are an Autumn treasure

This scent came out in 2014 or 2015 I believe, and returns every year. It's a strong sweet apple scent, but more of an apple cider than straight apple, or even the inside of an apple pie. I smell some spice like nutmeg and perhaps a touch of cinnamon. Fantastic scent!

Throw: Excellent, 5 out of 5, a scent monster that took over the entire house

Fresh Cut Frasier

Notes: Fresh citrus, aromatic evergreen, and dazzling white fir combine with intriguing notes of gently smoked balsam, precious woods, and a dash of festive spice

This one has been around for several years but returns every year. It's a strong biting pine scent with a eucalyptus note. There's just a smidgen of sweetness in there, but barely detectable, like maybe a sweet vanilla or berry.

Throw: Excellent, 5 out of 5, a scent monster that took over the entire house

Moonlit Magic Pumpkin

Notes: Brilliant bergamot spun with moonlit woods and luminous greens float above clove spiced pumpkin fruit, floriental pumpkin flower, hints of incense and rich wood smoked embers.

This is really different! On cold sniff it smells like rich salty buttery scented men's cologne with a smidgeon of oud wood! Melted though, it's more like a combination of buttered popcorn and men's cologne. Kind of like the new ScentSationals Black Tux scent mixed with salty popcorn, and a hint of oud wood. It's not a sweet scent. I don't know if I like it or not. Should a man smell like popcorn? I guess it depends on how much you like popcorn! Looking at the scent notes, I guess it's the pumpkin that smells like popcorn to me.

Throw: Excellent, 5 out of 5, a scent monster that took over the entire house

Pumpkin Berry Tart

Notes: The sweet scent of dark berries overlay the warm spice of pumpkin cream

This smells like apples and blueberries with a little molasses and a bakery note and a little saltiness. There's a slight pumpkin note but not much.

Throw: Excellent, 3.5 or 4 out of 5

Pumpkin Butter Cookies

Notes: A delectable harvest pumpkin medley interwoven with spicy nutmeg, powdered cinnamon and pure vanilla cream cookie dough sweetened with a sprinkle of rich brown sugar

On cold sniff this smells like bready oatmeal cookies with a smidgeon of cinnamon. It's quite similar to the new SS Praline Spice, but not as rich or buttery or salty. It smells a lot like BHG Vanilla Caramel Spice, but this scent also has a slight oatmeal note and maybe a smidgen of nutmeg. Melted, however, it smells almost exactly like SS Praline Spice and BHG Vanilla Caramel Spice and other similar sweet rich cinnamon bakery scents, and I don't notice the very slight note differences. It may in fact be the same scent. But it's still a fantastic scent!

Throw: Excellent, 5 out of 5, a scent monster that took over the entire house

Pumpkin Maple Syrup

Notes: A delicious sugary, sweet blend infused pumpkin with maple syrup, salted caramel drizzle, praline swirl and cinnamon sugar for the perfect breakfast topping. Buttercream, warm vanilla sugar and sweet molasses adds further sweetness in this indulgent treat

Oh wow I like this! It's butterscotch maple syrup with a slight salty pancakey note.

Throw: Very good, 3 or 3.5 out of 5

Spiced Woodland Currant

Notes: Harvest berry and citrus splashed currant spun with hints of black pine gently spiced with cinnamon and clove bud fused with golden amber, warm incense and earthy patchouli

A pine scent with a slight smoky note and a hint of berries I think. It has a slightly sour note but also a smidgen of sweetness (but it's not a sweet scent at all), and I swear I detect a hint of lemon. I really liked this one the first time I tried it. But when I melted it again, I noticed a vinegary note that I didn't like. I couldn't find scent notes for this one.

Throw: Excellent, 3.5 or 4 out of 5

Spicy Cinnamon Stick

Notes: The scent of freshly ground cinnamon sticks embellished with pure notes of crushed clove essence, sweet nutmeg, and a sprinkle of festive allspice

This is an older scent that has returned. It's straight cinnamon with a sweet candy note, like a Red Hot Cinnamon candy. In fact, it smells almost exactly like ScentSationals Red Hot Cinnamon, except that scent has a bit of a "heat" note and maybe a smidgen of cloves, whereas this scent does not. Although looking at the scent notes, this scent has cloves too. Actually, the scent notes are very similar for both scents. ScentSationals Red Hot Cinnamon notes are "Aromatic notes of bright red hot cinnamon accented by crushed clove bud, sweet allspice, and a touch of shimmering nutmeg".

Throw: Excellent, 4 out of 5

Stormy Autumn Night

Notes: Radiant white lemon and aromatic herbs blend with dew-covered orchard apple, pink peppered cedar and soft autumn rain wrapped in ambered patchouli and cool touches of spiced olibanum (frankincense)

This is a men's cologne scent with a hint of sweet apple. I like it, it's different! I don't smell lemon.

Throw: Fair, 2.5 or 3 out of 5

Sueded Cinnamon Woods

Notes: A warm blend of smoked cinnamon, winter woods, white cedar and vanilla suede with notes of salted caramel, golden butterscotch, brown sugar and tonka bean

On cold sniff I smell buttery coffee with honey and vanilla buttercream. I also smell the "suede" note (a warm ambery cashmere scent), but no cinnamon at all, which is good. Melted, I just smell a nice warm caramely cashmere scent (no coffee or honey or buttercream).

Throw: First time throw was fair, 2.5 or 3 out of 5. Then when I melted it again a few days later, throw was excellent, 4 out of 5. Not sure why; maybe I had the air conditioning on one day and my allergies were acting up, and a few days later the a/c was off and allergies were better. Weird!

Warm Apricot Cider

Notes: Apricot juice and warm cider blend together to create this delicious fragrance. Apple slices, juicy peach accord, cinnamon stick and mulled spices swirl together and lead into a creamy, sweet base of vanilla bean and brown sugar for the perfect finish

This smells like sweet peach flavored apple juice with a hint of tea. Looking at the scent notes, there's the peach (apricot).

Throw: Excellent, 3.5 or 4 out of 5

Warm Tobacco Leaf

Notes: Mandarin leaf, woodland greens and spiced plum combine with rich tobacco leaf and peppered amber amid aromatic hints of warm moss, earthy woods and brushed leather

A fantastic warm tobacco scent with a patchouli note. It has just a hint of sweetness, and a woodsy note (but not smoky). On cold sniff I detect a cologne note and a slight smokiness, but I don't smell these when melted. I don't smell mandarin (orange) at all.

Throw: Excellent, 4 out of 5

Winter Berry Zest

Notes: Dazzling red currant infused grapefruit, fresh rhubarb and sugared pomegranate meld with watery greens, hints of white pear and sugared orange

Super fresh orangey lemony cranberry scent with the crispness of a hint of pine. It's kind of tart, a little sour, just slightly sweet, and it smells fresh and clean. I can't decide if this is something I would want to drink or clean my house with, but either way I can't stop sniffing it! This is one of my favorite of the new scents because it's so "different". Definitely a winter scent rather than a fall scent.

Throw: Excellent, 5 out of 5, a scent monster that took over the entire house

Autumn Afternoon Stroll Duo
Golden Oak Leaves + Apples & Acorns

This duo came out a few years ago and has returned this year. The Golden Oak Leaves side is a strong sagey pine scent that smells a lot like ScentSationals Mountain Twilight or Better Homes & Gardens Crisp Fall Leaves. The Apples & Acorns side smells like tart slightly sour apples, similar to the new ScentSationals Welcome scent but with different notes.

Throw: Excellent, 4 out of 5 (both scents)

Comfy & Cozy Duo
Fleece + Flannel

This duo came out a few years ago and has returned this year. Despite its name, this is more of a fresh air type duo than a laundry duo.

The Fleece scent (blue side) is a generic sweet clean scent. Throw was not good (around 2.5 or 3 out of 5).

The Flannel scent (white side) is a clean scent with a mossy note. It's very similar to an older Better Homes & Gardens scent called "Southern Spanish Moss". Throw was very good, 3 or 3.5 out of 5.

Perfect Winter Kiss Duo
Winter Cuddle + Frosted Mint

Notes:
Winter Cuddle - Radiant white lemon and aromatic herbs blend with dew-covered orchard apple, pink peppered cedar and soft autumn rain wrapped in ambered patchouli and cool touches of spiced olibanum.
Frosted Mint - The first crisp snow of the season blankets notes of frosted evergreen, woodland sage, and regal juniper accented by shimmering mint, white cedar, and the freshness of sweet musk.

Winter Cuddle is the new Better Homes & Gardens Stormy Autumn Night scent (even the same color). But unlike Stormy Autumn Night, which had only a fair throw, the throw for this scent was excellent, 3.5 or 4 out of 5.

Frosted Mint is a eucalyptus pine scent which might be the same as Better Homes & Gardens Fragrant Woodland Walk, or similar, also a little like the new Better Homes & Gardens Aspen Evergreen Walk but not as harsh or biting. Very nice! Throw was excellent, 3.5 or 4 out of 5.
