Hanna's Candle L'Aroma Therapie (Aromatherapy) Wax Melts Reviews

The new Hanna's Candle L'Aroma Therapie Essential Oil Collection of candles and wax melts can be found on the Hanna's Candle (Candlemart) website at https://candlemart.com/collections/laroma-therapie-essential-oil-collection. They use real essential oils instead of artificial scents. The melts are $4.99, rather than the $2.49 for their regular wax melts. And the clamshells are round; in fact, they're the same round clamshells that Goose Creek Candle uses. I really like these scents. They're authentic and calming, and they make you feel like you're relaxing at an expensive spa!

Eucalyptus

This is a pure eucalyptus scent that smells a lot like Vicks VapoRub, but not quite as intense. I definitely smell the menthol. It's perfect to melt when you have a cold or allergies due to the sinus clearing effect (although you only get that effect from close up). I love this scent!

Throw: Strong, 4 out of 5

Lavender

This is a true, authentic lavender scent. It even has a strong nasal clearing effect from up close, so it may have a bit of eucalyptus in it. It's not a sweet lavender, but it's also not a harsh or medicinal lavender. It smells like fresh lavender right from the plant. Very nice and relaxing!

Throw: Medium, 3.25 out of 5

Lavender & Chamomile

Chamomile supposedly has an apple-like scent, and I think I smell a smidgen of that. But I detect more of an orange note, although not an overly citrusy orange or grapefruit type note. And it also has the lavender note which is very slightly sweeter than the regular Lavender scent, with a brighter, cleaner note. It also has a tiny bit of that sinus clearing effect like the regular Lavender has.

Throw: Mild, 2.75 out of 5

Peppermint & Spearmint

This is pure spearmint with the sweetness of peppermint, and it's fantastic. It's not a sweet candy type mint scent like candy cane though. This is one of those scents that doesn't have a very strong throw, but I can smell it subtly around the house. When I walk into the room, it doesn't hit me in the face the way strong throwing scents would, which is actually a good thing because it's a strong scent, and aromatherapy scents are supposed to be more gentle.

Comparing it to the new ScentSationals Inner Zen, that scent is more of an authentic garden spearmint with just a hint of sweetness. This scent is definitely sweeter, with the peppermint note, although it has more of a "toothpaste" mint vibe than Inner Zen, because of the sweetness of the spearmint. I love both scents.

Throw: Strong, 4 out of 5

These new Easter/Spring 2019 wax melts are fantastic, and some of the first new scents that Hanna's Candle has come out with in over a year.

Berries & Blooms

Notes: Strawberry, Raspberry, Pink Peony, Vanilla, and Spun Sugar

This might be one of the most incredible scents I've ever smelled! Just like the scent name, it's a combination of berries (definitely strawberry, and maybe a hint of raspberry?) and blooms (honeysuckle?). But it's much more complex than that. It's super rich, super sweet strawberry, like strawberry preserves or thick sweet strawberry syrup that you drizzle over ice cream. But it's not an entirely foodie scent either, because there's also a strong note of a rich, sweet, warm floral like honeysuckle. Although it's sweet, it's not musky or perfumey. And the scent lasted all day (at least 8 or 10 hours).

Throw: Bold, 5 out of 5

Butterfly Wings

Notes: Gardenia and Mimosa blend with Orange Flower, Tuberose, Lush Violet, and Exotic Woods

This is a floral scent but it's also very, very bitter. I thought it might be the same as their Peony & Rose Bouquet scent, which I recall as also being very bitter, but the notes are different. I'm not a fan of this scent at all, but like the Peony & Rose Bouquet, I think I'm in the minority and most people seem to really like it. I don't smell any of those scent notes.

Throw: Strong, 4 out of 5

Cherry Blossoms

Notes: Red Berries, Lychee, Jasmine, Cherry Blossom, Freesia, Peony, Lavender, Amber, and Musk

This is a bit different from cherry blossom scents I usually smell, which are more soft and powdery. This smells a bit like a girly perfume, very sweet with a bit of a Pink Sugar note. I do smell a little musk, but also a fruity note (more strawberry than cherry) and a very sweet floral like gardenia or jasmine, and maybe a smidgen of vanilla or marshmallow that gives it a tiny bit of a cotton candy vibe. I love it! It's completely different from their Wild Cherry Blossom scent.

Throw: Mild, 2.5 out of 5

Cottontails & Clover

Notes: Orange Blossom, Geranium, Bois de Rose, Coconut, and Sea Salt

I really like this scent. It smells a little like Coppertone Suntan oil, but not as much as other Coppertone type scents I've smelled. It also has a bitter note, but not enough to be annoying. Looking at the notes, I think I do detect a smidgen of coconut, and the orange blossom is what gives it that Coppertone type note. The geranium might be the bitterness. It's similar to their Starry Night, Strength (Benditaroma), and Sandy Beach scents, but not the same.

Throw: Strong, 4 out of 5

Morning Dew

Notes: Plumeria, Freesia, Cyclamen, Lily of the Valley, Violet, Sandalwood, and Musk

A pleasant soft plumeria type floral with sweet watery notes, maybe a hint of vanilla or marshmallow, and a smidgen of musk. It's not a perfumey scent, and it's not even much of a floral as it has that slightly marshmallowy note. It's very nice. It's the same as their Benditaroma Protection scent.

Throw: Strong, 3.5 out of 5

Speckled Treasure

Notes: Misty Fresh Ozone, Citrus, Sweet Red Apple, Tart Green Apple, Subtle Wood, and Musk

I smell mostly apple, with a hint of something else, maybe a fresh air note and caramel? It has a tiny bit of a soapy note, and possibly a smidgen of floral although it's not perfumey or even overly sweet. It's a very nice, pleasant scent.

Throw: Strong, 4 out of 5

These are the first new scents that Hanna's Candle has come out with in over a year, and I was excited to review these! They also just came out with a new Easter collection.

Hugs & Kisses
Notes: Luscious chocolate
On cold sniff this smells like chocolate buttercream with a hint of coffee and a smidgen of nut. But melted, the coffee note really comes out and it smells like mocha, without the buttercream and nutty notes. It's quite nice, and doesn't have the bitter note that some chocolate scents tend to have. I don't think it's the same as any of their other chocolate scents.
Throw: Strong, 3.5 out of 5

Love Gives You Wings
Notes: Sweet vanilla
This is a vanilla cake scent with a smidgen of a nutty note. It might be the same as their Vanilla Frosted Cupcake scent.
Throw: Strong, 3.5 out of 5

Passion
Notes: Red hot cinnamon
This does indeed smell like red hot cinnamon candies. It might be the same as their Candied Cinnamon, Ground Spice & Cinnamon, or Jolly Rancher Cinnamon Fire scent. I'm not a fan of straight cinnamon scents, but this one is quite nice. It has a hint of warmth (perhaps cloves) and it's very sweet, like cinnamon candy.
Throw: Strong, 3.75 out of 5

Hanna's Candle (Candlemart) hasn't come out with new scents since Winter 2017, but they've made some of their Aromabeads scents available in wax melts. Hanna's Candle's wax melts can be found on their website at https://candlemart.com/collections/candles-melts/no-wick. Great products and fantastic customer service!

Apple Melon

Notes: Cantaloupe, green apple, cucumber, muguet, freesia, and white musk

Just like the scent name, I smell melon and apple. The melon smells like cantaloupe but it might also include watermelon. No watermelon in the scent notes, but the muguet, freesia and musk make it quite sweet, like a watermelon candy. I do smell the green watery crispness of the cucumber too. And of course the apple. It's a pleasant scent.

Throw: Strong, 3.5 out of 5

Coral Honeysuckle

Notes: Sweet honeysuckle and a touch of lemon blends with orange blossom, yellow freesia, muguet, and gardenia; sweet musk delivers a soothing finish

A lovely sweet floral scent of honeysuckle and  orange blossom/neroli (one of my favorite scents). Fantastic! Looking at the notes, I don't smell lemon at all.

Throw: Medium, 3.5 out of 5

Eucalyptus Mint

Notes: Eucalyptus leaves, bright magenta thyme, sage, marjoram, rosemary, french lavender, and wild mint

This smells a lot like ScentSationals Zen, that relaxing soapy, clean, very slightly minty scent. But like Zen, I don't smell eucalyptus, which has a strong pine note. I don't really smell the other herbs either, since this is not a savory scent. Just a bit of the mint. Oh, lavender, yes I think I do smell that. This scent is slightly sweet, so that must be from the lavender too.

Throw: Strong, 3.5 out of 5

Ground Spice & Cinnamon

Notes: A strong cinnamon bark blend is followed by a warm wood and sweet amber

This is a cinnamon candy scent. Looking at the notes, I don't detect wood or amber (amber would give it a warm perfumey note). It has a bit of that "red hot" candy note, but it also has a very slight powdery note which might actually be the amber.

Throw: Strong, 3.5 out of 5

Hazelnut Latte

Notes: Toasted coconut and warm honey fuses with hazelnut, sweet almonds and cinnamon at the heart of the scrumptious blend. Vanilla cream, brown sugar and maple entice us with their sweet and sticky tones.

A yummy sweet buttery nutty scent. I don't really smell coffee, or it may be way in the background. Looking at the notes, no coffee! I don't smell coconut, honey or cinnamon, but I do smell maple.

Throw: Medium, 3.5 out of 5

Mountain Air PureFresh Bathroom Neutralizing

Notes: A crisp fresh blend of ozone, herbs, florals and musk

On cold sniff this smells like a nice smelling bar of soap. Melted, it's definitely a laundry scent, but a nice soapy laundry scent, not a harsh detergent scent but also not a flowery fabric softener scent. It's also not overly sweet, but more soapy, with a bit of an Ivory soap note. I really like it.

Throw: Strong, 3.5 out of 5

Peony & Rose Bouquet

Notes: This fresh floral fragrance blends notes of pink peony, rose, orange flower and blushing hibiscus with effervescent citrus and berry nuances; warm woods and musk provide a perfect warming finish

This is the same as the South Seas scent from Aldi from January 2018 (https://www.scentedwaxmeltreviews.com/2018/01/aldi-wax-melts-reviews-spring-2018.html). It smells like old soap, which sometimes smells quite good. But it's very bitter and fake and smells kind of "burnt" to me. It doesn't smell like peony or rose to me at all. However, I think I'm in the minority, since most people love this scent. Looking at the scent notes, it might be the effervescent citrus that gives it the bitter note, although I don't smell any fizziness or citrus at all.

Throw: Strong, 3.5 out of 5

Pumpkin Brulee

Notes: Harvest pumpkin interwoven with delectable notes of nutmeg, cinnamon and pure vanilla

A rich pumpkin pie scent with a buttery cinnamon note, like what a cinnamon bun would smell like if it had pumpkin pie filling and a rich buttery pie crust

Throw: Bold, 5 out of 5

Sandy Beach

Notes: Gardenia, lime, ozone, fruity coconut, sweet praline, and fresh muguet

I love this scent! It smells like Coppertone Suntan oil mixed with a hint of coconut and maybe a smidgen of sweet tropical nectar. It also has a tiny bit of a yummy note, like maybe a smidgen of caramel. Looking at the notes, the yumminess is from the praline. I don't smell lime.

Throw: Strong, 4 out of 5

South Seas

Notes: Driftwood and sea kelp, tropical fruits, and a sweet hint of caramel

I thought this was the same as the South Seas scent from Aldi from January 2018, but I don't think it is. This is a fresh watery scent with a bitter note and maybe a smidgen of a peppery note. It's more bitter than the Aldi version.

Throw: Strong, 3.5 out of 5

Spiced Peach

Notes: Ginger, lemon zest, fresh juicy peach, apricot marmalade, cinnamon, nutmeg, and a hint of buttery crust

A nice milky, creamy peach. Looking at the scent notes, I don't detect ginger or spices, but there is a smidgen of a buttery bakery note. Not fake, harsh, or overly sweet. This one should be called "Peaches & Cream"!

Throw: Strong, 3.5 out of 5

Tranquil Waters

Notes: A bright blue sky reflected in shimmering waters where delicate water lilies float with violet, rose and freesia blossoms before drifting into the warmth of sun-kissed driftwood, sheer musks, and white amber crystals

This is the same scent as Mainstays Peaceful Waters from Walmart, a sweet watery scent with a rich warm vanilla note that gives it a foodie note, and possibly musk as it's also a little perfumey.

Throw: Bold, 5 out of 5

Tropical Smoothie

Notes: Fruity notes of sweet mango and fresh papaya swirl with juicy accents of fuzzy peach and ripe guava infused with sweet peach blossom, apricot flower, island jasmine, and golden ylang ylang

This smells like an authentic juicy peach, with a hint of sweet guava. It's a fantastic scent, and I believe it's also the same scent as Mainstays Peach & Mango from Walmart.

Throw: Strong, 4 out of 5

Aldi Wax Melts Reviews - Summer 2018 (May)

Aldi Wax Melts Reviews - Summer 2018 (May)

Aldi Wax Melts - Summer 2018 (May)

Aldi comes out with 4 new wax melt scents 3 times a year: January, April/May, and September/October. The wax melts are made by Hanna's Candle and are very good quality. They cost $1.69 each. They should be at all Aldi stores this week, or if not, this weekend. Once they show up at the Aldi store, they stay on the shelves until they're sold out, which can happen within 2 or 3 weeks. Old scents do not return, so if you like these, don't wait! However, many of these scents are available on the Hanna's Candle website, possibly under different names (for "legal" reasons, Hanna's has not confirmed this; it's just my personal observation).

Hanna's Candle Hershey's Wax Melts Reviews

Video

Hanna's Candle's Hershey's wax melts, candles and Aromabeads Singles can be found on their website at https://candlemart.com/collections/hersheys-collection-by-hannas-candle-company.

Hershey's Almond Joy

Notes: Deliciously sweet milk chocolate and rich nutty coconut

On cold sniff this smells like a fake slightly plasticy milky coconut scent with a hint of chocolate. But that offputting plasticy note disappears when melting, and it smells quite nice, a perfect combination of milk chocolate and coconut with just a smidgen of nuts.

Throw: Medium, 3.5 out of 5

Hershey's Milk Chocolate with Almonds

Notes: Marshmallow fluff, caramel butter, dark brown sugar, dutch cocoa, tonka bean, milk chocolate and vanilla creme bring real life to a Hershey's favorite

A nice rich creamy milk chocolate with a smidgen of barely noticeable almonds. This actually smells better than a real Hershey's bar, as Hershey bars tend to have a weird stinky feet note, which I don't detect in this melt. Great scent, making me hungry!

Throw: Strong, 3.5 to 4 out of 5

Hershey's Mr. Goodbar

Notes: Sugared accents of creamy milk chocolate and crisp peanuts combine to create this true Hershey's classic

This one smells different from the older Mr. Goodbar wax melt I have, like the scent formula has been changed. I sniffed them side-by-side, and the older one really smells like a Mr. Goodbar candy bar, with creamy milk chocolate and peanuts. On cold sniff the new scent is a fake chocolate scent with a chemical note, but melted it smells better, although it smells like a regular Hershey bar without peanuts, and it still has a bit of chemical note while melting. My roommate noticed the difference too.

Throw: Medium, 3.5 out of 5

Hershey's S'Mores

Notes: Warm sweet vanilla cream and toasted marshmallows, drizzled with rich dark chocolate on a fresh baked graham cracker

This comes with 3 separate scents: graham cracker, marshmallow, and chocolate

Graham Cracker - This is a rich creamy scent that smells like a combination of chocolate and brown sugar, although I also do detect a smidgen of a graham cracker note, and maybe a barely detectable hint of honey. Throw was mild, 3 out of 5.

Marshmallow - A fantastic rich marshmallowy white chocolate scent. Throw was mild, 2.5 out of 5.

Chocolate - A nice creamy chocolate scent. Throw was mild, 2.5 to 3 out of 5.

Hershey's Whoppers

Notes: Milk chocolate sweetness with the lingering scent of malted milk

A rich creamy chocolate scent. It's very similar to the Hershey's Milk Chocolate with Almonds scent, but richer and a little more chocolatey, and I can detect a hint of the malted note. It's not a burnt stinky chocolate like a lot of chocolate scented wax melts can be. I like it!

Throw: Strong, 3.5 to 4 out of 5

Hershey's York Peppermint Patty

Notes: The refreshing allure of sweet, frosted peppermint cream wrapped in rich nuances of dark, delectable chocolate

A nice pleasant combination of mint and sweet chocolate. It's not an overly pepperminty mint, and the chocolate is subtle too.

Throw: Medium, 3 out of 5

Video

All Jolly Rancher products (wax melts, candles and Aromabeads Singles) can be found on the Hanna's Candle website at https://candlemart.com/collections/jolly-rancher-collection-by-hannas-candle-company.

Jolly Rancher Blue Raspberry

Notes: Wild raspberry with tangy fruit accent this candy treat

A fake raspberry and blueberry scent (in a good way) with a very slightly tangy note, like it has a smidgen of lemon. I like this one.

Throw: Medium, 3 to 3.5 out of 5

Jolly Rancher Cherry

Notes: Luscious red cherry and a sweet vanilla base

This smells like vinyl with a hint of a fake cherry note. I know it's supposed to be a fake cherry, but although it's kind of sweet, it's not sweet or candyish enough. It's not even authentic or sweet enough to smell like cherry cough syrup, as a lot of fake cherry scents do. This is the only one out of the Jolly Rancher collection that I don't care for.

Throw: Strong, 3.5 to 4 out of 5

Jolly Rancher Cinnamon Fire

Notes: Cassia, cinnamon bark, wood & amber - the ultimate spice scent

A sweet red hot cinnamon candy scent. There may be a smidgen of cloves for extra warmth. If you like cinnamon, you'll love this scent!

Throw: Medium, 3 to 3.5 out of 5

Jolly Rancher Grape

Notes: A bold, sweet and tart grape fruit fragrance that will wake up your sleeping taste buds

This is the perfect grape candy scent, or even grape soda. It's definitely not an authentic grape, just like you would expect grape flavored candy to smell like: sweet grape candy with a slight sour candy note (like maybe a hint of lemon).

Throw: Medium, 3 to 3.5 out of 5

Jolly Rancher Green Apple

Notes: Fruity notes highlight this crisp apple scent, creating a mouth watering candy delight.

A very pleasant sweet apple scent. It's not completely authentic (nor should it be, since it's supposed to be apple candy), but it's not a fake apple candy scent either. I don't think it's a dupe of any of their other apple scents. I really like it.

Throw: Strong, 3.5 to 4 out of 5

Jolly Rancher Lemon

Notes: Tart, zesty lemon and sweet candied sugar

A nice lemon scent with a slightly soapy note. It smells a little like kitchen lemon, but it barely has any sweetness. It's almost the exact same scent as Jolly Rancher Pink Lemonade, but not as sweet. I like it! Looking at the scent notes, there's really no sugar (or maybe a hint of sugar) in this one.

Throw: Bold, 5 out of 5, a scent monster that took over the house

Jolly Rancher Orange

Notes: Citrus, orange, pineapple, fruity, violet, strawberry, and gardenia

A strong bright very slightly tart orange scent, like orange Tang. Very nice. Looking at the scent notes, actually I think I do detect some pineapple, but none of the other notes except orange.

Throw: Bold, 5 out of 5, a scent monster that took over the house

Jolly Rancher Pink Lemonade

Notes: Tangy lemon with a splash of sunny citrus

This smells almost exactly like the regular Jolly Rancher Lemon scent, but just a smidgen sweeter and maybe very slightly more soapy. Looking at the scent notes, it doesn't smell very citrusy. I like it though!

Throw: Strong, 4 out of 5

Jolly Rancher Watermelon

Notes: Juicy watermelon, zests of lemon, orange, and fresh floral undertones, on a sweet candy-like accord of sugar cane and malt notes

I'm not a fan of watermelon scents, but I really like this one because it's a sweet watermelon candy scent (although it's not overly sweet). It's not authentic watermelon, nor should it be. It's summery and thirst quenching and almost has a tiny bit of a floral note. Looking at the scent notes, there's the floral. I don't smell lemon or orange though, but there may be just a tinge of zestiness.

Throw: Medium, 3.5 out of 5

Twizzlers

Notes: A yummy rendition of classic strawberry Twizzlers twisted with tropical nuances of golden pineapple, island papaya, and tantalizing coconut

This smells like pineapple and fake strawberry (in a good way), and maybe a hint of raspberry. It's rich like there's a bit of vanilla in the background, and maybe a smidgen of coconut. Looking at the scent notes, they're spot on. I've never smelled Twizzlers candy, so I don't know if this actually smells like Twizzlers or not. But I really like this scent. It's fun and summery!

Throw: Medium, 3.5 out of 5

Video

Aldi comes out with 4 new wax melt scents 3 times a year: January, March/April, and September/October. The wax melts are made by Hanna's Candle and are very good quality. They cost $1.69 each. They should be at all Aldi stores this week, probably by Wednesday, January 17. Once they show up at the Aldi store, they stay on the shelves until they're sold out, which can happen within 2 to 4 weeks. Old scents do not return, so if you like these, don't wait!

Fresh Cotton Blossom

I've smelled this scent before. It's a nice sweet laundry detergent scent with a little bit of a biting laundry note, but not as much as Better Homes & Gardens Line Dried Linen. And it's not a soft powdery fabric softener scent either. It doesn't smell soapy, and it's sweeter than other similar scents I've smelled with a little bit more of a floral note, although it's not really perfumey either. Hard to describe! It's NOT the same scent as Hanna's Candle's Fresh Cotton Blossom scent. The scent lasted the entire day and was still going strong when I changed it out; I think it could have gone for 2 days!

Throw: Bold, 5 out of 5, a scent monster that took over the house.

Lavender & Thyme

Notes: A beautiful aroma of lavender, jasmine flowers, and rose petals blended with the sultry notes of sandalwood and musk

This is an authentic lavender scent. It has a hint of sweetness, but it's not a sweet, powdery lavender scent. I don't smell thyme, but there may be a hint of eucalyptus, and it does have a little bit of a medicinal note, but not overwhelming. It's a perfect lavender scent. If you prefer a sweeter lavender, mix it with a floral, perfumey, or vanilla scent. If you like spa lavender, mix it with lemon. Looking at the scent notes, I don't smell jasmine, rose or musk. I believe this is the same scent as Hanna's Candle's Lavender Thyme (not confirmed by Hanna's) at https://candlemart.com/products/aromabeads-singles-lavender-thyme-scented-wax-melts.

Throw: Strong, 3.5 out of 5

Peony & Rose Bouquet

Notes: This fresh floral fragrance blends notes of pink peony, rose, orange flower and blushing hibiscus with effervescent citrus and berry nuances; warm woods and musk provide a perfect warming finish.

This smells like old soap, which sometimes smells quite good. This is the same scent as Hanna's Candle's Peony & Rose Bouquet (not confirmed by Hanna's) at https://candlemart.com/search?q=peony+%26+rose+bouquet.

Throw: Strong, 3.5 out of 5

South Seas

A nice kind of sweet watery scent with a hint of warmth and maybe a bit of a perfumey note (musk?) and perhaps a smidgen of vanilla. It smells almost exactly like Mainstays Peaceful Waters (from Walmart), and it may in fact be the same scent, but I don't think so. It's actually quite different from any scent I've smelled in a wax melt, and I like unique scents. This is the same scent as Hanna's Candle's South Seas (not confirmed by Hanna's) at https://candlemart.com/products/south-seas-scented-wax-melts.

Video:

The Hanna's Candle Sparkle and Joy Winter 2017 Scented Wax Melts will be available on the candlemart.com website in the beginning of November, in both the small 1.25 oz. clamshells for $1.49 (these look like the Mainstays packages at Walmart), as well as the regular tall 2.5 oz. clamshells for $2.49. It's a great idea to offer them in both sizes, so you can try them out in the smaller size, and then order the larger packs later if you like the scent.

Candied Cinnamon

Notes: Top: Orange, Cherry, Cinnamon Leaf. Middle: Sweet Cinnamon, Spicy Clove. Bottom: Vanilla, Woods

A straight cinnamon scent. It's sweet and smells like Big Red gum or cinnamon hard candies. There may also be a hint of clove. There are no bakery notes in this one. Looking at the scent notes, I don't smell orange at all. I'm not a fan of straight cinnamon scents, but if you are, you'll love this one.

Throw: Good, 3 out of 5

Holiday Shimmer

Notes: Nutmeg, cinnamon, clove and anise blended with juicy orange and ripe cranberry.

This is a nice warm cozy orange pomander scent. On cold sniff, I just smell tart cranberry, slightly sweet orange, and a hint of cinnamon. Looking at the scent notes, I see anise, which is a licorice type scent, but I don't detect that at all. It's an "okay" scent for me, but then I'm not a fan of orange pomander scents in general.

Throw: Excellent, 3.5 or 4 out of 5.

Starry Night

Notes: Top: Ozone, Aromatic Accord, Mixed Fruits. Middle: Jasmine, Rose, Muguet. Bottom: Veiled Musk, Exotic Woods, Golden Amber. Like a hidden treasure, this scent sparkles and shines with an exquisite blend of lush florals, exotic woods and golden amber.

I love this scent! It's the only one of this collection that isn't really a holiday or winter scent. It smells like a combination of shaving cream and suntan oil. Actually it smells a little like ScentSationals Himalayan Pink Salt, but sweeter and better, without that odd offputting note that nobody can figure out, and with more of a Coppertone suntan oil note.

Throw: Very Good, 3 or 3.5 out of 5

Sugarplum Dream

Notes: Cranberry, clove, raspberry, pineapple, orange, and balsam fir

A nice smoky pine/spruce scent. It's very similar to the Through the Woods scent, but more smoky. On cold sniff I also detect a smidgen of sweetness, but I don't smell that when melted. Looking at the scent notes, I don't smell anything except the balsam fir. I expected it to be a fruity scent based on the name.

Throw: Excellent, 3.5 or 4 out of 5.

Through the Woods

Notes: Siberian fir needle oil, Texas cedar wood, sandalwood, spruce, fir balsam and raspberry.

A nice pine/spruce scent with a hint of wood and a little smokiness. It's very similar to Sugarplum Dream, but more "piney" and slightly woodsy, and a little less smoky. This is not the same scent as their Timberwick Pine Meadow scent, although it's similar; Pine Meadow is not as smoky. It might be the same as their Woodland Pine scent (although I no longer have that scent), but the notes listed on their website are different.

Throw: Excellent, 3.5 or 4 out of 5.

Winter Delights

Notes: Buttery vanilla with a hint of honey and coconut.

This is a nice plain vanilla scent with maybe a hint of nut and maybe a slight bakery note, like warm vanilla cookies. It's not an overly sweet vanilla. Looking at the scent notes, I don't smell honey. But actually I think I do smell a smidgen coconut, but it's so subtle that if I didn't know it was in the scent notes, I probably wouldn't detect it.

Throw: Like many vanilla scents, throw was not good, maybe 2 out of 5.

Aldi Wax Melts Reviews (Huntington Home) - Fall 2017 Scents

Aldi Wax Melts Reviews (Huntington Home) - Fall 2017 Scents

Aldi Wax Melts (Huntington Home) - Fall 2017 Scents

Video:

These new Huntington Home brand Fall 2017 scents showed up at Aldi today, although some Aldi stores got them a few days ago. Once they are gone, they will no longer be available at Aldi stores. Aldi gets four new scents three times a year, around January/February, April/March, and September/October. They are manufactured by Hanna's Candle (http://www.candlemart.com).

Banana Nut Bread

Notes:  Freshly baked bread, bananas, apricots, walnuts, vanilla, whipped butter, ginger, nutmeg crystals, and clove

This is the same scent as Hanna's Candle's Banana Nut Bread (this has not been confirmed by Hanna's Candle), so when this scent sells out at Aldi, you can buy it from the Hanna's website at http://www.candlemart.com. Super rich and buttery and banana-ey with a slightly salty nutty note, this one puts most other banana bread scents to shame. It's one of my favorite scents ever!

Here are my comparisons to some other similar scents:

- Mainstays Banana Nut Bread: There's no comparison at all; the Mainstays version is nice, but a bit artificial. Aldi is the clear winner.

- Yankee Candle Home Inspiration Banana Walnut Bread: The nutty note in the Aldi version is a little saltier and more peanutty and slightly richer, while the nutty note in the Yankee version is more of a very slightly bitter walnut note. And the Aldi version has a stronger banana note. So for me, although I love them both, the Aldi Banana Nut Bread has a slight edge over the Yankee version.

- Goose Creek Sweet Banana Bread: They both smell fantastic. The Goose Creek version is saltier, richer, and nuttier, and with a slight caramel note. It's not as banana-ey as the Aldi version though. But it's a scent monster with a 5 out of 5 throw. So for me, because of the richer, nuttier, slightly caramely scent and the stronger throw, Goose Creek Sweet Banana Bread does have a slight edge (but would be a much clearer winner for me if it had a stronger banana note).

Throw: Excellent, 3.5 or 4 out of 5

Pumpkin Brulee

Notes: Harvest pumpkin interwoven with delectable notes of nutmeg, cinnamon and pure vanilla.

This is not a typical pumpkin scent at all. I do smell pumpkin spices like cinnamon and nutmeg, but it's more cinnamony than most pumpkin pie scents, and I also smell raisins and sweet molasses. It's a fantastic scent. It might be the same scent as the Aromabeads Singles Pumpkin Brulee scent (not confirmed by Hanna's Candle), which can be found at http://www.candlemart.com, and which I reviewed in January 2017 as "A rich pumpkin pie scent with a buttery cinnamon note, like what a cinnamon bun would smell like if it had pumpkin pie filling and a rich buttery pie crust."

Throw: Excellent, 5 out of 5, a scent monster that took over the whole house!

Vanilla Frosted Cupcake

Notes: Warm Vanilla cupcake with luscious butter cream accents and sweet essences of delectable sugarcane

This is just a standard sweet vanilla scent. This is the same as Hanna's Candle's Vanilla Frosted Cupcake scent (not confirmed by Hanna's Candle), which can be found at http://www.candlemart.com.

Throw: Not Good, 2 or 2.5 out of 5 (as is the case with many vanilla scents)

Warm Apple Pie

Notes: A warm blend of fresh-picked apples, dashed with spicy accents of warm nutmeg, cinnamon, clove, and allspice over a base of brown sugar and vanilla cream

A standard, generic apple pie scent. It's a fake apple scent, but it actually smells fairly good. This is the same as Hanna's Candle's Warm Apple Pie scent (not confirmed by Hanna's Candle), which can be found at http://www.candlemart.com.

Throw: Good, 3 out of 5

Hanna's Candle Pumpkin Palooza Fall 2017 Scented Wax Melts Reviews

Hanna's Candle Pumpkin Palooza Fall 2017 Scented Wax Melts Reviews

These Hanna's Candle wax melts are only available in their new smaller 1.25 oz. size (like Walmart's Mainstays wax melts). But unlike the Mainstays melts, which are soft and messy, the Hanna's melts use hard wax. Hanna's Candle (CandleMart) melts can be found on their website at https://candlemart.com/collections/candles-melts/no-wick.

Cinnamon Pumpkin Tart

Notes: Fresh pumpkin, clove, nutmeg, cinnamon bark, vanilla whipped cream, golden graham

Review: This is mostly a cinnamon scent, but it's a nice "cinnamon powder" cinnamon roll type scent. Sweet and a little rich, with a little clove and nutmeg. It's a very nice scent, not a harsh "Big Red" or "Red Hot" cinnamon scent at all. I'm not a fan of straight cinnamon scents, and I like this one!

Throw: Excellent, 3.5 or 4 out of 5

Creamy Pumpkin Butter

Notes: Fresh pumpkin, cardamom, nutmeg and pure vanilla extract

Review: A sweet rich buttery pumpkin scent with nutmeg, but not overly spicy, and not nauseatingly rich, and not really salty either like a lot of pumpkin scents can be. Very nice!

Throw: Good, 3 out of 5

Pumpkin Caramel Parfait

Notes: Pumpkin spice blended with buttery caramel, honeyed cream and vanilla.

Review: A sweet caramely vanilla scent with a hint of pumpkin spice. It's not overly rich and doesn't have the salty notes that a lot of pumpkiny scents have.

Throw: Very Good, 3 or 3.5 out of 5

Sweet Pumpkin Roll

Notes: Brown Sugar combines with buttercream and sweet lemon to create a complex fragrance laced with pumpkin accord, ginger, and nutmeg with hints of vanilla, pecan, and sugarcane

Review: This is the same as the Mainstays Pecan Pumpkin Cake scent from Walmart (which is also a dupe for Bath & Body Works Pumpkin Pecan Waffle). Fun Fact: Mainstays melts are made by both MVP Group Intl. and Hanna's Candle. MVP Group Intl. also makes wax melts for Colonial Candles, Living Colors (Big Lots), True Living (Dollar General), K-Mart and Sears brands, and some dollar store brands. I don't know which scents are provided by which manufacturer, but clearly the Mainstays Pecan Pumpkin Cake is made by Hanna's Candle. It's a super rich milky caramel scent with a nutty note. Looking at the scent notes, yep, there's the nuttiness of the pecan. I don't smell lemon at all. Fantastic scent!

Throw: Excellent, 4 out of 5

Hanna's Candle (CandleMart) Ozark Valley Apples Scented Wax Melt Reviews

Watch video below:

These apple scented wax melts just came out in the first week of August 2017. Who knew there were so many different types of apple scents?

Apple Jack Cider

Notes: Golden delicious apple simmered with spicy cinnamon, fresh clove bud and sparkling orange zest.

My Review:
This smells like sweet apple juice with just a smidgeon of cinnamon, or a light apple cider. It's not a harsh mulling spices fall type scent. Although it's a slightly cinnamony apple scent, it's completely different from the Granny Smith Apple scent.

Throw: Excellent, 4 out of 5

Country Green Apples

Notes: Crisp, pure apple sparkles with zesty lemon accents, iced pear, and a touch of musk

My Review:
This is a fresh raw apple peel scent. It's not overly sweet. It's similar to the Benditaroma Abundance scent, which is also a fresh natural apple scent, but they have different notes. Abundance smells even more authentic, is not as sweet, and has a smidgeon of a "dirt" note (in a good way).

Throw: Good, 3 out of 5

Granny Smith Apple

Notes: Spiced apples, sugared cinnamon, lemon zest and clove bud blended with flaky crust and candied ginger.

My Review:
A very sweet, warm, cinnamony apple like the apple filling of an apple pie.

Throw: Excellent, 3.5 or 4 out of 5

Ozark Honeycrisp Apple

Notes: Crunchy orchard fresh McIntosh apple, green grape and neroli

My Review:
This is not a fresh crisp apple scent, but it's definitely apple, maybe a little bit of a fake apple, but it smells very nice. I think I detect a slight berry note, which makes this smell different from other apple scented wax I've smelled.

Throw: Good, 3 out of 5

Sweet Candy Apples

Notes: Baked cinnamon apples with shaved ginger, nutmeg, clove, allspice and vanilla

My Review:
This is not really a candy apple scent. It's a clove scent with an apple note. A nice warm fall or winter scent! This might be the same as their Warm Apple Pie scent, as the notes are very similar.

Throw: Very good, 3 or 3.5 out of 5

Warm Caramel Apples

Notes: Caramel, English toffee, and a touch of warm maple swirl with tart green apple and pear.

My Review:
The scent name pretty much describe it, apples and sweet caramel. It has a little bit of a candy note. Yummy! Same scent as Aldi Salted Caramel from January 2017 (http://www.scentedwaxreviews.com/2017/01/aldi-huntington-home-scented-wax-melts-review.html). Hanna's Candles makes the Aldi melts.

Throw: Excellent, 4 out of 5

Autumn Walk
This smells like a men's cologne with a slight woodsy note, but not smoky. It's just an "okay" scent for me, as the cologne is a bit harsh.
Throw: Excellent, 3.5 or 4 out of 5

Baked Apple Pie
A nice sweet apple pie scent with a hint of cloves. It's nice, but a typical apple pie scent like a lot of others out there.
Throw: Excellent, 3.5 or 4 out of 5

Cozy Lodge
A very nice sweet woodsy scent with a oud wood note (a dark, resinous, slightly bitter woodsy scent). This smells like an expensive furniture store, and a lot like Better Homes and Gardens "Pure White Woods".
Throw: Very good, 3 or 3.5 out of 5

Pumpkin Praline
A super rich sweet milky caramel scent with an almond note and just a smidgen of pumpkin spices. This is quite similar to Mainstays Pecan Pumpkin Cake, except this scent  has an almond note that the Mainstays scent does not have. I think this is going to be the most popular scent of the new Fall Candle Collection because it's so yummy!
Throw: Very good, 3 or 3.5 out of 5

Pumpkin Spice Chai
A sweet pumpkin pie scent with a hint of chai tea.
Throw: Good, 3 out of 5

Spiced Citrus Pomander
I'm normally not a fan of pomander, which is generally a combination of orange and spices like clove. They often smell weird and soapy to me. But this one smells rather nice as it has more orange in it than most pomander scents I've smelled.
Throw: Very good, 3 or 3.5 out of 5
