Mia Bella's Mia Melts wax melts, candles and other products are made by a company called Scent-Sations, Inc., and are sold through their website as well as through distributors (direct sales reps, similar to Scentsy).

The Scent-Sations website is http://www.scent-team.com, and their Facebook page is https://www.facebook.com/scentteam. They're also on Twitter, Instagram and YouTube (you can find their social media links on the bottom of their website).

These are uniquely packaged scents in resealable bags rather than clamshells. Each wax "cube" is a round disc that, because of the texture of the wax, looks like a banana slice! The texture of the wax is hard and the surface has that crystallized slightly iridescent look of palm wax. Their wax is a proprietary formula "comprised of vegetables and other natural, renewable resources". They use 100% palm wax from sustainable plantations in Malaysia. Palm wax is safe and green, is harder than paraffin and soy, and works well in just about any warmer, from 15W warmers to 25W bulb warmers. And once the wax cools and hardens, it's easy to pop out of the warmer.

One disc is 0.4oz., which is equivalent to one cube of wax from a regular 2.5 oz. clamshell. Each bag comes with 12 discs, so the total weight for each bag is around 4.8 oz. Their line of winter melts, however, are sold in 6-packs instead of 12-packs.

When reading these reviews, keep in mind that these are only 6 scents out of around 110 scents, so it's not at all a fair representation of the quality of their scents. The more scents I review, the more accurate they represent the rest of their scents.

After Dark

Description: A premier signature fragrance created with world-class perfumes that are both elegant and alluring. This sensual, captivating fragrance has depth of character and is sure to leave a lasting impression.

Oh I like this one. It smells like a nice upscale women's perfume with a laundry note and maybe a smidgen of baby powder. It's not a floral, musky or candy-like scent, and it's not overly sweet or "girlish".

Throw: Poor, 2 out of 5

Christmas Essence

Description: The spirit of the holiday season is captured with a smell similar to a combination of fruits and herbs that is sure to fill your home with holiday cheer!

This is a smoky pine scent but there's another note in there, some type of herb like rosemary. Looking at the scent notes, it does mention herbs but not which ones. I don't smell fruit. And this scent is not sweet at all. I like it; it has a cozy comforting quality.

Throw: Poor, 2 out of 5

Eucalyptus

Description: This refreshing and invigorating scent will brighten any room. Calming and comforting, it is also soft and romantic.

This is the most authentic eucalyptus scent I've ever smelled in a wax melt. It has a menthol sinus clearing effect even on cold sniff. It's not a pine scent or a mint scent, like many other eucalyptus wax melts, and it doesn't smell like Vicks VapoRub. It's fantastic!

Throw: Not good, 2 to 2.5 out of 5. But I melted one again a few weeks later, and throw was Excellent, 3.5 to 4 out of 5. There are so many variables that can affect throw!

Odor No More

Description: Vanilla is one of the most loved fragrances around the world. We combined the highest quality Madagascar Vanilla perfume with a mixture of exotic herbs to give you a scent that will mask any unwelcome odor!

Fantastic scent that smells like lavender and vanilla, but with some other notes I can't figure out, maybe sandalwood? It's a sweet scent but not floral or foodie. And it's super strong on cold sniff! Actually, this smells exactly like Scentsy Lavender Vanilla! Which I believe is a dupe of Bath & Body Works Lavender Vanilla.

Throw: Excellent, 4 out of 5

Snowberry Pine

Description: This incredible scent is a blend of Balsam Pine, with semi-sweet winter berries, and an exhilarating hint of mint. A perfect holiday fragrance!

I love this scent! It's very similar to the Christmas Essence scent, with a smoky pine and another note that smells like rosemary or some kind of savory herb. But I also detect a smidgen of some kind of berry, maybe cranberry. This is not a sweet or fruity scent at all. I thought based on the name that it would be similar to Scentsy Snowberry, but it's a different scent entirely. Looking at the scent notes, I don't smell mint at all.

Throw: Poor, 2 out of 5

Sweet Orange & Chili Pepper

Description: A zingy, zesty, orange-eeee smell that you will never forget! It rose to the top as one of our most popular fragrances immediately! Here's one more way to enjoy our signature scent!

I smell orange with a nice clean soapy note. It's not a sweet, candy, or citrusy orange. And it's not really a sweet scent, maybe just a pinch of sweetness. I don't smell pepper at all. Even though it has a soapy note, it's not like an industrial cleaner scent, nor a body wash scent (not nearly sweet enough). It smells a little like a facial mask I have, with a bit of a green, herbal, natural note. Looking at the scent notes, no, this is definitely not a zingy, zesty, orange-eeee smell! Which is good, as those scents are quite common. I like that this scent is unique.

Throw: Good, 3 out of 5

Twilight

Description: Irresistibly intoxicating, this fragrance is infused with top notes of Indian Ginger accompanied by bottom notes of earthy walnut. Whether you are a "lion" or a "lamb", this fragrance will transport you.

A luxurious women's perfume with a vanilla note and maybe a hint of caramel. Very nice scent! Looking at the scent notes, I don't smell ginger or nut at all.

Throw: Very good, 3 or 3.5 out of 5

Scentsy Bar Reviews

Video:

This Scentsy bar review is a little different from my usual. I'd like to focus a bit on the seller first: Carrie Mamulski. Carrie joined the Scentsy family in 2013 and is now a "Star Consultant". She hosts Scentsy parties (online parties, home parties, and catalog parties), and although she is located in New Jersey, she ships anywhere in the U.S. Carrie loves Scentsy and loves sharing it. She always tries to throw in something extra with each order personalized to the person ordering. And if a customer orders warmers from her, she will always replace their light bulbs for free as needed, as just a little extra gesture.

Sure, you can buy Scentsy from anyone, but it's really nice being able to order from someone who is totally knowledgeable about the product, provides great customer service and quick shipping, and goes the extra mile for her customers.

Carrie Mamulski's Scentsy page is https://carriemamulski.scentsy.us.

This is part 1 of 2 of Scentsy review scent starting with B to L. I will review scents starting with M to V in my next review over the next few weeks.

Bergamot & Solar Driftwood

Notes: Bergamot, Sea Spray & Solar Amber

This is a fresh men's body wash scent. I smell a cologne note (bergamot), with a lemony and/or orange note. It's very nice.

Throw: Very good, 3 or 3.5 out of 5

Camu Camu

Notes: Mandarin, camu camu, and passion fruit

This is a very popular Scentsy scent. I smell apricot, a hint of orange, and maybe a smidgen of tea. But I also smell a little bit of a sweet warm floral note, so this is not totally a fruit scent. Looking at the scent notes, there's the orange (mandarin). Camu camu is a fruit with a slightly sweet, light citrus fragrance.

Throw: Good, 3 out of 5

Caramel Vanilla Delight

Notes: Vanilla ice cream, liquid caramel and a splash of white rum

Just like the scent name, this is a sweet vanilla buttercream with a rich caramel note. It's not a salted caramel, which is good. There may be a smidgen of a sweet liquor like bourbon. Looking at the scent notes, it's rum, but it's very subtle. So yummy!

Throw: Excellent, 3.5 or 4 out of 5

Cedar Cider

Notes: Apples, cinnamon sticks, and vanilla beans nestled among fragrant white cedar branches

I smell apples and real cinnamon powder and a hint of mulling spices in the background (but not too strong, and this is not a sour apple cider scent, nor is it a harsh cinnamon candy scent at all). I do smell a bit of the sweet cedar wood note, which makes this scent unique. Very nice.

Throw: Excellent, 3.5 or 4 out of 5

Citrus Garden

Notes: Crisp lime, Meyer lemon and a pinch of garden thyme

It's grapefruit with a little bit of a savory or lemon note, rather than a sweet grapefruit. Looking at the scent notes, I guess it's the combination of lime, lemon and thyme that makes me think grapefruit. When melted, I do smell the zestiness of the lemon. It's a great scent!

Throw: Excellent, 3.5 or 4 out of 5

Citrus Rosemary

Notes: Sweet orange, lemon balm and rosemary fig

I smell orange, grapefruit and lemon, with a smidgen of wood in the background, like cedar. It's not a sweet citrus scent, but more of a clean citrus. Very nice. Looking at the scent notes, I guess it's the rosemary fig that I think is cedar wood.

Throw: Fair, 2.5 or 3 out of 5

Gingerbread Donut

Notes: Golden gingerbread, spiced donut and vanilla bean.

This is different from most gingerbread scents I've smelled. It's very rich. I smell caramel, butterscotch, brown sugar, a little bit of cinnamon and ginger, and a hint of coffee. Fantastic, yummy scent.

Throw: Excellent, 5 out of 5, a scent monster that took over the whole house

Glacial Ice

Notes: Mistletoe sweetened by a touch of wild berry

Creamy sweet peppermint, warm rich cashmere, and maybe a smidgen of berry. Looking at the scent notes, mint is not listed, although this is definitely a minty scent and it smells fantastic.

Throw: Good, 3 out of 5

Holly Berry Cinnamon

Notes: Cassis, clove leaf and juniper berry

A nice equal balance of cinnamon, cloves, and pine, with a hint of sweet slightly tart cranberry. Very nice!

Throw: Very good, 3 or 3.5 out of 5

Homestead Holiday

Notes: Blood orange, cinnamon and fresh fir needle.

A lovely apple cinnamon scent with a hint of cloves. It has a bit of a powdery note, like powdered sugar, and some apple cider spices (but not harsh mulling spices). It's a nice, authentic scent that doesn't have any offputting notes. Perfect for any room of the house or if you have company. Looking at the scent notes, I don't smell orange at all; I really smell apple! And I don't smell pine either.

Throw: Good, 3 out of 5

Lavender Vanilla

Notes: Lavender, vanilla beans, orange zest, and patchouli

I love this scent, and it's very strong on cold sniff. I smell a sweet lavender type note with a very rich vanilla. But there's another note I can't figure out, maybe a warm amber note. Looking at the scent notes, it's patchouli! That's why I like this scent so much! I don't smell orange though. Melted, there's a hint of a bug spray note, but not enough to bother me. I still love this scent! This might be a dupe of Bath & Body Works Lavender Vanilla, but since I've never smelled that version, I can't say for sure.

Throw: Excellent, 5 out of 5, a scent monster that took over the house!

Lemon Thyme Berry

Notes: Sparkling lemonade and strawberry sprinkled with crushed thyme

This is an absolutely incredible scent, maybe my favorite of this whole batch. It's slightly similar to the discontinued ScentSationals Blackberry Lemonade, but it's sweeter and has a definite candy vibe. I smell a sweet candyish berry, maybe blackberry, and the zestiness of lemon. I don't smell thyme, which would give this scent a savory note, and it's not a savory scent at all. When melted, I do detect a very slight soapy note which might be the thyme.

Throw: Very good, 3 or 3.5 out of 5

Love & Happiness

Notes: Glazed chestnut, vanilla and sugarcane

Oh I really like this one. It's a sweet cotton candy type scent with a burnt sugar or slightly smoky note, and maybe a bit of vanilla. Very different! Looking at the scent notes, I guess the smoky note is the chestnut, although I don't smell nut at all.

Throw: Excellent, 3.5 or 4 out of 5

Lucky in Love

Notes: Mandarin, bergamot and orange with hints of peaches and berries

This smells exactly like Tuscany Candle Stressless, which is also a dupe for Victoria's Secret Love Spell perfume. Like Tuscany Stressless, this is a scent I can't get into. I don't like it at all. It smells very bland to me, like grapefruit and paper. It's not really sweet either, and has a bitter almost slightly sour note. But most people love this scent, so I'm definitely in the minority. Looking at the scent notes, I do smell the orange, but it's a bitter orange, and I don't smell peaches or berries.

Throw: Good, 3 out of 5

Quality Scents LLC Wax Melts Reviews

Quality Scents LLC Wax Melts Reviews

Quality Scents LLC Scented Wax Melts

Video:

Quality Scents LLC is one of my top favorite wax melt vendors! They are a small company in St. Charles, Missouri that makes scented wax melts in clamshell format (although they will be switching to 1oz. scent shots). Currently they have 42 scents. They use a blend consisting of mostly paraffin (but no soy). Paraffin wax tends to throw better than soy wax, and Quality Scents LLC wax is proof of that!

For the most part, the Quality Scents LLC wax melts smelled fantastic and threw very well. Good consistent throw is difficult for wax companies to achieve, so I was very happy with these wax melts. My only complaint would be that the wax was stuck to the inside of the package and was very hard to remove. I had to use a sharp knife to cut the cube out of the clamshell, which was difficult to do because the wax is quite hard. But this was not a deal breaker for me at all. My other critique would be that the labels on the clamshells are quite generic, but again, but this doesn't matter to me because I don't care what the wax or package looks like, as long as the wax itself performs well. Starting in November, however, they will be switching from the 2.5oz. clamshells to 1oz. scent shot cups. It'll be the same wax, but of course cheaper.

Quality Scents LLC's website is http://www.qualityscentsllc.com. They can also be found on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/qualityscentsllcofficial and Instagram at https://www.instagram.com/qualityscentsllc/. And remember to check the top of their website for discount codes, currently Free Shipping when you spend $35 or more (enter code 35SHIPFREE at checkout).

I will be reviewing more Quality Scents LLC wax melt scents over the next few weeks, so check back!

Bali Mango

Description: A sweet, tropical, fruity fragrance with subtle hints of citrus.

A nice sweet tropical fruit scent, without any sour notes like some tropical fruit scents tend to have.

Throw: Good, 3 out of 5

Banana Nut Bread

Description: The warm, inviting smell of freshly baked banana nut bread with undertones of cinnamon and spice

This is a nice banana scent with a nutty and bakery vanilla note. On cold sniff it's just "okay", but melted, it's fantastic. Looking at the scent description, I don't smell cinnamon or spice.

Throw: Very good, 3 or 3.5 out of 5

Black Fig & Honey

Description: A floral sweetness with an earthy, nutty aroma.

This smells like a combination of old mildewy wood and chicory coffee substitute (which has kind of a burnt coffee like scent). I really can't figure it out. It's not sweet at all and I don't detect honey or any fruity notes. There may be a smidgen of fig, although I wouldn't detect it if I didn't know it was in there. At first I thought "eww", but now that it's melting, I like it because it's so weird. I'm also detecting a hint of butter and coconut, and maybe a little bit of nuttiness. Like I said... weird.

Throw: Good, 3 out of 5

Blushing Cherry Blossom

Description: A soft and sleek floral scent like springtime in full bloom.

This smells like, well, cherry blossom, a nice powdery floral scent but not overly sweet.

Throw: Fair, 2.5 or 3 out of 5, but cherry blossom scents are usually not strong throwers.

Caribbean Escape

Description: All the sweet, floral, refreshing fragrances of summer in paradise.

A nice creamy coconut scent with a hint of vanilla and maybe a smidgen of tropical fruit (which might consist of a little bit of pineapple, but not much). It's not overly sweet, and it's not one of those fake air freshener type tropical scents. Looking at the scent notes, I don't really smell floral.

Throw: Excellent, 3.5 or 4 out of 5

Chamomile

Description: Our gentle, rural herbal Chamomile fragrance is relaxation in a bottle. Notes of lilac and rose provide a mini vacation for the most hectic of days.

This smells like gardenia with a very soapy note, and it's not overly sweet.

Throw: Good, 3 out of 5, but the scent started fading within an hour-and-a-half.

Cranberry Cobbler

Description: The perfect combination of sweet and tart cranberries with a hint of vanilla

I smell sweet and slightly tart cranberry, but it smells like there's another berry note in there like cherry or blackberry. I like this! Looking at the scent notes, no other berries, but what I think is cherry or blackberry might be the sweet cranberries, in addition to the tart ones.

Throw: Very good, 3 or 3.5 out of 5

French Lavender

Description: A subtle and relaxing aroma with an earthy, floral scent

A perfect lavender scent! It smells like there's real lavender oil in this. It's probably the most authentic lavender scented wax I've ever smelled, but it doesn't smell medicinal because it has a hint of sweetness. They use a lavender essential oil in this scent, which explains the authenticity!

Throw: Excellent, 4 out of 5

Gardenia

Description: A luscious aroma of everyone's favorite floral fragrance, with a sweet, earthy, tropical scent.

A perfect gardenia scent, warm and sweet, with a perfumey note, but not overly sweet. It's a rich floral scent; in fact, it's so rich it smells like there might be a subtle hint of vanilla or even caramel. I love this scent!

Throw: Excellent, 3.5 or 4 out of 5

Homemade Jam

Description: An extra special, cozy fragrance with top notes of sweet raspberry, cherry and soft cinnamon, with a sugary caramelized base.

I really like this scent, although it's not a "foodie" fruit scent. It smells like a very fruity creamy raspberry and/or blackberry scented skin cream. Looking at the scent notes, I don't really smell cherry, and I don't smell cinnamon at all, or caramel, although it's a very rich scent. It has a smidgen of tartness from the raspberry, in a good way. And it's sweet, but not cloyingly sweet, and it's not a perfume scent. It's slightly similar to Scentsy Luna or ScentSationals Blackberry Cider, but more fruity and raspberryish.

Throw: Excellent, 5 out of 5, a scent monster that took over the house!

Lavender & Rosemary

Description: A very calming effect given off by the soft sweetness of lavender and subtle earthiness of rosemary

This smells almost exactly like the French Lavender scent, but slightly less sweet, and with a barely noticeable savory kick from the rosemary. This is a very slightly more medicinal type lavender than the French Lavender scent, but not by much. Like the French Lavender scent, this is also very authentic, and I love them both. They use a lavender essential oil in both their lavender scents, which explains the authenticity!

Throw: Excellent, 3.5 or 4 out of 5

Merry Mistletoe

Description: Fir needle, red berry, pine, clove with a woody base.

Pine with a very slightly sweet note like vanilla, and perhaps a smidgen of berry. Melted, it also has a little bit of warmth, which might be the clove, but I don't smell clove per se. It's a very nice scent.

Throw: Excellent, 3.5 or 4 out of 5

Pear Pomegranate

Description: Juicy pear is the star, with sparkling pomegranate adding the fresh fruity bottom

This smells like orange to me, with maybe a hint of cranberry. It's not an overly citrusy orange. It smells like a Cranberry Mandarin scent, so I'm wondering if this one might be mislabeled. I don't smell pear at all (which would have more of an apple type note).

Throw: Fair, 2.5 or 3 out of 5

Peppermint

Description: A refreshing minty aroma with blends of earthy pine and sweet menthol.

This smells like a blast of peppermint breath spray. I suspect this one has real peppermint oil in it. It's very minty and has that sinus clearing effect even on cold sniff. It's slightly sweet but not as sweet as peppermint candies, and it doesn't have the creamy vanilla note of a candy cane. I wasn't sure if I would like it based on cold sniff, because it's so strong and pepperminty, but I really liked it when melted. And it had that sinus clearing effect in the room, not just up close! This is a perfect scent to melt when you have a cold or sinus infection. It's clearing my sinuses right now. Wow! Looking at the scent description, I don't smell pine at all, and I don't detect menthol although that's what might be the sinus clearing effect.

Throw: Excellent, 5 out of 5, a scent monster that took over the house!

Reindeer Retreat

Description: Fragrant northern pine, enveloped in green, woody fir needle, sprinkled with lilies of the valley and jasmine. Fresh cedar and green moss reach into the musky bottom.

A smoky pine with a hint of mint perhaps. Looking at the scent notes, I don't smell lily-of-the-valley or jasmine or any floral notes at all.

Throw: Excellent, 3.5 or 4 out of 5

Rosemary Mint

Description: A very refreshing smell of Rosemary and Mint

This is spearmint all the way. It smells like toothpaste. But even though it's sweet, because of the rosemary it's not overly sweet. I'm not a fan of spearmint, but I like this one. It's very fresh!

Throw: Excellent, 3.5 or 4 out of 5

Sandalwood

Description: A fresh, soft, earthy scent that brings the woody aroma of nature indoors

Light on cold sniff, this smells like plain wood, like a freshly sharpened pencil or a plank of lumber. It's a nice scent, but it's not sandalwood (which is a milky, slightly sweet woodsy scent).

Throw: Poor, 1 out of 5, although I often find this to be the case with Sandalwood scents

Spicy Plum Pudding

Description: Juicy ripened plums with a little bit of spicy for a twist that would make a sweet holiday blend.

This is very weak on cold sniff, but I think I smell a sweet cinnamon. Although the wax is a lavender color.

Throw: Poor, 1 out of 5

Under the Leaves

Description: Remember jumping in freshly raked pile of leaves as a kid? This blend will take you back, with notes of hay, lemon peel and orange, and the fresh outdoorsy notes of lavender, gardenia and jasmine.

A nice fresh very herbal shower gel scent. It's not perfumey or cologney or overly soapy, and it's almost a little savory, but still has enough sweetness to smell like a shower gel. Very nice, fresh scent. Looking at the scent description, this does not smell like a fall leaves type scent at all, which is actually a good thing because there are so many of those types of scents out there. I've smelled this scent a few times before in wax from other companies, and I always liked it, but the throw was never good... until now!

Throw: Excellent, 5 out of 5, a scent monster that took over the house, and the scent lasted for at least 8 hours.

Sonoma Wax Melts Review (Kohl's) - Winter 2017 - Part 1

Sonoma Wax Melts Review (Kohl's) - Winter 2017 - Part 1

Video:

This is a review of the Kohl's Wax Melts (Sonoma brand) new Winter/Holiday/Christmas 2017 scents. Some of these are no longer appearing on the Kohl's website, but I believe they will be getting new stock soon. You can see all of these new scents at the top of my Sonoma board on Pinterest at https://www.pinterest.com/scentedwax/sonoma-scented-wax-melts-kohls/.

After I did this review, 6 even newer holiday scents showed up on the Kohl's website. I reviewed those on November 2, 2017 at http://www.scentedwaxreviews.com/2017/11/kohls-sonoma-scented-wax-melts-reviews-winter-2017.html.

Balsam Fir

Notes: Fresh balsam, fir and cedarwood

A smoky spruce scent with a woodsy note. It's not a sharp biting pine scent. It has a little bit of an "old" note, or maybe like the sap of a spruce tree, but not in a bad way. I believe this is the same scent as their Balsam Fir scent from 2015. However, that one had excellent throw, 4 out of 5 (although a lot of variables can affect throw, including the type of warmer, temperature of room, traffic, heating or air conditioning, etc.)

Throw: Good, 3 out of 5

Candy Cane Lane

Notes: Peppermint, mint and vanilla sugar

This is peppermint with a little sweetness, like peppermint hard candies. It doesn't have the creamy vanilla note that a lot of candy cane scents have. It's a very strong peppermint, with a sinus clearing effect even from a few feet away.

Throw: Very good, 3 or 3.5 out of 5

Caramel Eggnog Swirl

Notes: Frothy eggnog, caramel and vanilla sugar

This doesn't really smell like eggnog, but it's still fantastic. It smells like burnt sugar (in a good way) with a little bit of caramel and also a sweet liquor like bourbon. It actually smells similar to Swan Creek Candle Bourbon Maple Sugar. There may be a smidgen of nutmeg in the background to give this an eggnog note. It's a very yummy scent, and very rich, almost to the point of being nauseatingly sweet and rich.

Throw: Excellent, 5 out of 5, a scent monster that took over the whole house

Cocoa & Marshmallows

Notes: Cocoa, marshmallows and creamy vanilla

This really smells like hot cocoa with marshmallows! I'm not a fan of most chocolate scents because they tend to have a weird bitter note, but this is kind of an equal combination of marshmallow and chocolate. The chocolate is a very "cocoa-ey" chocolate with a sweet vanilla note, but not bitter or fudgy. There's also a smidgen of something in there that makes this not smell completely authentic, but not in a bad way, almost like a cocoa butter skin cream. But it's not perfumey at all. This scent is absolutely amazing, and the scent lingered in my room for 2 days after I stopped melting it!

Throw: Excellent, 4 out of 5

Cozy Fireside

Notes: Cinnamon, nutmeg and sandalwood

A very sweet intense cherry pipe tobacco scent with a men's cologne note and a hint of a shaving cream note and maybe a smidgen of bourbon. I love this one! Looking at the scent notes, I think those notes are for a different scent. This has no cinnamon or nutmeg or pumpkin pie notes, and it's not a foodie scent. Sandalwood, yes probably. This is a completely different scent from Fireside Memories which came out in August.

Throw: Excellent, 3.5 or 4 out of 5, and it lasted about 6 hours

Deck the Halls

Notes: Cinnamon, clove bud and toasted nutmeg

A pure cinnamon scent with a sweet slightly candy note, and maybe a hint of cloves. It's not quite a Big Red gum or hard cinnamon candy scent, although it's quite cinnamony. This is the same as their Deck the Halls scent from 2015 and 2016.

Throw: Good, 3 out of 5

Evergreen & Mahogany

Notes: Evergreen, mahogany and woodland musk

A fantastic raw wood scent like a just-sharpened pencil or a piece of lumber. But there's also a little kick of pine. With the woodsy and slight pine note, this scent makes you feel like you're walking through a pine forest. It's similar to Balsam & Oak from 2015, but with slightly different notes.

Throw: Excellent, 3.5 or 4 out of 5

Gingerbread House

Notes: Ginger, cinnamon and vanilla

This is a wonderful gingerbread scent with a little bit of a sweet vanilla buttercream note. I believe this is the same as their Gingerbread House scent from 2015 and 2016.

Throw: Very good, 3 or 3.5 out of 5

Holiday Cookies

Notes: Vanilla, cookie dough and buttercream

I smell creamy vanilla with a smidgen of nutmeg. In fact, this smells a bit like eggnog on cold sniff. But melted, it smells more like vanilla cookies. It's similar to their Holiday Cookies scent from November 2015, but that scent was more of a vanilla cookie bakery scent with a smidgen of nut. And it might be the same scent as, or very similar to, Holiday Eggnog from October 2016.

Throw: Good, 3 out of 5

Home for Christmas

Notes: Baked apple, cinnamon and nutmeg

This smells like an apple cinnamon tart with a bakery note. Nice scent, but it has a bit of a bready or yeasty note that I'm not crazy about.

Throw: Excellent, 5 out of 5, a scent monster that took over the whole house

Roasted Chestnuts

Notes: Roasted chestnut, maple sugar and warm vanilla bean

This smells just like rich, warm salty chestnuts. It's very strong on cold sniff. Fantastic scent! Looking at the scent notes, I actually do smell a hint of maple way in the background and barely detectable, although this is not a sweet scent at all. This is a completely different scent from their Roasted Chestnuts scent from 2015.

Throw: Excellent, 4 out of 5

Sugared Pine & Cinnamon

Notes: Pine, ground cinnamon and sweet tonka

This smells like the sweet buttercream frosting on a cinnamon bun. I definitely smell cinnamon, but while the cinnamon is strong on cold sniff, it's not strong when melted. Looking at the scent notes, I think I smell a barely detectable smidgen of the pine on cold sniff, but I don't smell it at all when melted.

Throw: Good, 3 out of 5

Tree Farm

Notes: Evergreen, balsam and wood

This smells very similar to the Balsam Fir scent, but it's not as smoky, and I think there's a hint of eucalyptus, even though it's not in the notes. This has a little bit of that biting pine note, but not enough to be annoying. I don't know if this is the same as their Tree Farm scent from 2016.

Throw: Not good, 2 or 2.5 out of 5

Winter Berry & Spruce

Notes: Frosted berries, holiday spruce and hints of vanilla

I love this scent! It's pine and berries, maybe cranberries, as there's a little tartness but not enough to be annoying. I believe this is the same scent as Winter Berry Spruce from October 2016.

Throw: Excellent, 5 out of 5, a scent monster that took over the whole house

Lowe's Wax Melts Reviews (Carolina Candles) - Winter 2017

Lowe's Wax Melts Reviews (Carolina Candles) - Winter 2017

Lowe's Wax Melts (Carolina Candles)

Video:

These Carolina Candle Company wax melts from Lowe's are very soft, oily and messy. The scents are okay, although some are a bit generic. Some had decent throw, some had no throw. And the scent lasted around 2 or maybe 3 hours.

This is the first time I've ever seen these wax melts. Lowe's carries holiday/winter scents starting in mid-October, and they can be found in the Christmas aisle (not the housewares aisle with the air fresheners). They were $1.99 each. Last winter Lowe's had Tuscany brand wax melts, which were quite good. I don't know why they switched brands. Lowe's does not carry wax melts any other time of year, that I know of.

Some of the scents in the duo packs are also available as individual scents.

Amber & Oud / Oakwood Forest duo

Amber & Oud
A fantastic scent, sweet and warm like cashmere/amber with a hint of vanilla and smidgen of floral. It smells almost exactly like the old Better Homes & Gardens Soft Cashmere Amber scent. Throw was good, 3 out of 5. This scent also comes in an individual pack.

Oakwood Forest
I can barely smell anything on cold sniff, or even with my nose an inch away when melting. Maybe a woodsy note? Zero throw.

Apple Pomegranate / Cranberry Citron duo

Apple Pomegranate
A fake sweet creamy but slightly tart berry scent that smells like cherries and cranberries. It smells a bit like fruit scented skin cream or lipstick. Even though it's a fake berry scent, it smells quite nice. Throw was very good, 3 or 3.5 out of 5.

Cranberry Citron
A cranberry scent with an extremely tart note, slightly sour. I don't like this scent. This scent also comes in an individual pack. Throw was very good, 3 or 3.5 out of 5.

Cardamom Pear / Sage Leaf & Ginger duo

Cardamom Pear
A nice scent, but I can't figure out the notes. It's definitely not pear. It's kind of a sage & citrus type scent, a little sweet with maybe a eucalyptus note, a smidgen of a Pine Sol note (but barely detectable), and kind of smells like a bathroom cleaner but not in a bad way. Actually, this might be the same scent as Living Colors Harvest Wreath which I reviewed at http://www.scentedwaxreviews.com/2017/09/big-lots-living-colors-fall-2017-wax-melts-reviews.html, and described the same way. Throw was poor, 2 out of 5.

Sage Leaf & Ginger
I can barely smell anything on cold sniff. Something slightly sweet, green, herbal and little waxy? Zero throw. This scent also comes in an individual pack.

Frosted Cypress / Snowberry Fig duo

Frosted Cypress
A generic pine scent with a bit of a waxy note, but smells okay when melted. This scent also comes in an individual pack. Throw was good, 3 out of 5.

Snowberry & Fig
I've smelled this scent before, and it's blueberry muffin! It's a creamy but very fake blueberry scent with a little bit of a bakery note, and it's not overly sweet. Even though it's quite fake, I really like it. Throw was good, 3 out of 5.

Pumpkin Vine / Harvest Pumpkin duo

Pumpkin Vine
A nice, unusual pumpkiny scent with a sweet creamy orange note. Throw was not good, 2 or 2.5 out of 5.

Harvest Pumpkin
A typical pumpkin scent, very weak on cold sniff, but throw was excellent, 3.5 or 4 out of 5. This scent also comes in an individual pack.

Vanilla Cedar / Maple Cake duo

Vanilla Cedar
This smells a little like Liquid Smoke flavoring. It's almost a foodie type of smokiness. I don't smell vanilla at all. I've smelled this scent used for fireplace type wax scents before, and I'm not crazy about the scent as it smells fake. In fact, I think it's similar to the Campfire side of Living Colors Toasted Marshmallow/Campfire duo from Big Lots. Which makes sense, because both Carolina Candles and Living Colors are made by the same manufacturer, MVP Group International (which also makes Mainstays for Walmart, Colonial Candle, Burt's Bees, Red Shed for Tractor Supply, K-Mart and Sears brands, and some dollar store brands. Throw was very good, 3 or 3.5 out of 5. This scent also comes in an individual pack.

Maple Cake
A fake waxy maple scent on cold sniff, but nothing when melted. Zero throw.

Sassy Kandle Co. Wax Melt Tarts Reviews

Sassy Kandle Co. Wax Melt Tarts Reviews

Sassy Kandle Co. Wax Melt Tarts

Video:

Sassy Kandle Co. is one of my top favorite wax vendors! Her scents are unique, and in general throw is very good or better. Her wax is a unique blend of premium soy and paraffin, and she uses the highest quality fragrance oils (which is apparent in her scents). All products are ready to ship, and she ships quickly. No long turnaround times, and she doesn't close for restocking. She also sells candles, lips balms and soap.

Sassy Kandle Co. is a candle and wax melt vendor based in Windsor, Colorado. Her website is https://www.sassykandle.com, Etsy is https://www.etsy.com/shop/SassyKandleCo, and Facebook page is https://www.facebook.com/SassyKandleCo.

I did another review in August of many more Sassy Kandle Co. scents at http://www.scentedwaxreviews.com/2017/08/sassy-kandle-co-wax-melt-tarts-reviews.html, and I'll be reviewing holiday scents over the next few weeks.

Bergamot & Tarragon

Notes: A spa-like fragrance with notes of tarragon leaves, bergamot, lime and jasmine. It is rounded out with base notes of oakmoss and bamboo.

Oh I really like this one. I've smelled it before, but I'm not sure where. It's a very green, herbal, slightly savory spa type scent with barely a hint of sweetness, and a smidgen of soapiness. It could be a fresh herbal body wash but it's not sweet enough. Throw was very good, 3 or 3.5 out of 5.

Cedarwood Spice

Notes: Rich warm notes of spicy incense blend with rich cedarwood, oak and spicy clove. Warm undertones of bergamot and black pepper.

I can't tell what I'm smelling. It's sweet and incensey, a little like nag champa or patchouli, with black pepper and a milky or vanilla note. It's nice and unique. Throw was poor, 1.5 or 2 out of 5.

Cocoa Butter Cashmere

Notes: A cozy fragrance perfectly balanced between sweet, woodsy and warm. Notes of light spices and cedarwood are followed by rich vanilla tonka, warm coconut and jasmine petals. Olive wood, sandalwood, amber, musk and a touch of cocoa butter round out this sophisticated scent.

Fantastic scent! It's a warm perfume scent with a cashmere and maybe amber note, but I also smell rich vanilla or caramel, giving this scent a little bit of a sweet foodie quality. I don't actually smell chocolate, but I do detect a very slight chocolate-like richness. Although if I didn't know the scent name was Cocoa Butter Cashmere, I wouldn't think cocoa at all. Looking at the scent notes, I don't think I smell coconut, although it might be way in the background. Throw was excellent, 3.5 or 4 out of 5, and the scent lasted like 12 hours!

Egyptian Cotton

Notes: This cotton flower is blended with ylang petals and lily of the valley and has undertones of white amber and vanilla orchid wrapped in a blanket of warm musk & mist.

This smells fantastic. I smell baby powder, laundry, warm musk, a hint of vanilla, and a smidgen of some kind of flower like jasmine. Looking at the scent notes, they're spot on. Throw was excellent, 3.5 or 4 out of 5.

Ginger Peach & Patchouli

Notes: Warm ginger essence combined with juicy peaches and earthy patchouli

I didn't think I would like this based on cold sniff, but it's actually quite nice. I smell the woodsiness of the patchouli and the milkiness of the peach. The peach note is not a sweet fruity peach scent, but more like peaches and cream, or the fuzzy outside of the peach. It's not really a sweet scent either, and there's something about it that smells clean. I don't smell ginger per se. It's a nice, unique scent. Throw was very good, 3 or 3.5 out of 5.

Sandalwood Patchouli

Notes: Fragrant grains of sandalwood are polished with the notes of deep patchouli

The perfect combination of sweet rich patchouli and light sandalwood. This also has a perfumey note, and maybe a bit of baby powder or nag champa. Fantastic! Throw was good, around 3 out of 5.

Strawberry Kiwi

Notes: Blend of sweet summer strawberries and ripe kiwis

This smells like honeydew melon with a slightly candyish strawberry note. Melon scents can sometimes be a bit too bland on their own, but the strawberry gives this scent a nice extra sweet, fruity richness. A happy, refreshing summer scent! Throw was very good, 3 or 3.5 out of 5.

Sweetgrass

Notes: A bright green scent of earthy sweetgrass with just touch of clover and wisteria.

I really like this one. It smells like green grass and light florals, and a hint of a soapy note that make this smell a bit like a nice green shower gel. Throw was good, 3 out of 5.

Sweet Orange Chili Pepper

Notes: A combination of Valencia orange, bergamot, tangerine zest, orange juice, ground pepper & chili pepper.

I really like this one. It's orange, but not a sweet candy type orange. It's slightly bitter, like the rind of the orange, almost a bit of a grapefruit note. It's very refreshing. I don't actually smell pepper or any savory notes. Throw was excellent, 4 out of 5.

Turkish Mocha

Notes: Creamy top notes of milk, cardamom, cocoa and a touch of nutmeg, winding down to vanilla, honey rum, and Turkish Coffee.

I'm not a fan of chocolate scented wax melts, but this is more than just chocolate, and I love it! It smells a lot like Better Homes & Gardens Brownie Pecan Pie (one of my favorite scents), but without the nutty note. I smell milk chocolate (not a harsh burnt chocolate), caramel, and maybe a smidgen of coconut, and there might also be a barely detectable hint of coffee. It's a super rich, yummy scent. Throw was excellent, 4 out of 5.

Vanilla Hazelnut

Notes: Sweet hazelnut with the richness of buttery vanilla cream

A nice sweet rich nutty buttery bakery scent, this smells a bit like peanut butter cookies, but without the salty note that peanut butter tends to have. Throw was very good, 3 or 3.5 out of 5.

Vanilla Hazelnut Latte

Notes: A smooth vanilla latte complemented with toasted hazelnuts.  Cozy and warming

A fantastic coffee scent that blends a realistic coffee bean scent with sweet vanilla and a slightly nutty note. It's not overly sweet and doesn't have that fake chemical note that a lot of sweet coffee scents have. Throw was excellent, 5 out of 5, and it was a scent monster that took over the whole house.

Dollar General Wax Melts Reviews (True Living & FreshWorks) - Part 1

Dollar General Wax Melts Reviews (True Living & FreshWorks) - Part 1

Video:

I was pleasantly surprised that the Dollar General True Living and FreshWorks wax melts were actually fairly good! Yes, the wax is very soft, and the scent tends to dissipate within 2 or 3 hours. But the price is very good, $2.00 for the True Living and Fresh Works scents, same as Walmart wax, and $3.50 for the duos.

I bought more Dollar General wax melts after I did this review, and my review can be found at http://www.scentedwaxreviews.com/2017/11/dollar-general-wax-melts-reviews-true-living-freshworks.html.

Both FreshWorks and True Living wax melts are manufactured by MVP Group Intl., the same company that makes Mainstays (for Walmart), Colonial Candle, Burt's Bees, Living Colors (for Big Lots), Red Shed (for Tractor Supply), K-mart and Sears brands, and several dollar store brands.

True Living Maple Belgian Waffle
A nice sweet caramel scent with a maple note. Throw was very good, 3 or 3.5 out of 5.

True Living Passion Fruit
This smells like orange but I also detect hints of other fruit notes like grape, raspberry, and tropical fruit. Melted, I think I only smell the orange, and it's a fake orange but not in a bad way; it smells quite nice. Throw was not good, 2 or 2.5 out of 5.

True Living Salted Caramel
On cold sniff, this smells more like chocolate milk to me. But melted, it smells like a rich milky caramel with a milk chocolate note. It's not really a salty caramel though, which is okay, since it smells fantastic. Throw was good, 3 out of 5.

True Living Sea Breeze
This is a fresh watery slightly floral air freshener type scent, and it would be perfect in a bathroom. Even though it's rather generic, it smells very nice, the kind of unobtrusive scent that could be used in any room. Throw was poor, 1 out of 5, and might not even throw well in a tiny bathroom.

True Living Coastal Palm/Fresh Coconut duo

Coastal Palm (green wax)
Fantastic palm scent (palm is a soapy savory waxy scent with a hint of lemon). It's a sweet coconutty tropical fruit green palm scent with a slightly woodsy orangey/citrusy soapy note. Very nice! Throw was excellent, 4 out of 5, and it lasted all day, at least 8 hours!

Fresh Coconut (white wax)
A very nice sweet coconut scent, and throw was excellent, 4 out of 5.

FreshWorks Cashmere
A very nice laundry detergent scent with a clean but slightly industrial note, but in a good way. It smells like a laundromat, but it's not a harsh biting detergent scent. It's sweet and a bit soapy, and I detect very faint notes of orange and baby powder. I really like this one. Throw was very good, 3 or 3.5 out of 5.

Freshworks Lavender
A nice lavender scent with a fake note, almost like a lavender scented industrial or bathroom cleaner, but not like Fabuloso, which is a totally different scent. This has a biting note, kind of like Pine-Sol or an industrial lemon cleaner note. But I actually like this scent; it smells clean. Throw was good, 3 out of 5, but scent dissipated within an hour.

FreshWorks Waterfall
I really like this scent. It's fresh and watery and a little floral, but a completely different scent from the True Living Sea Breeze. This scent also has a bit of warmth, and I smell a hint of vanilla and maybe a smidgen of pepper. It's very unique. Surprisingly, throw was very good, 3 or 3.5 out of 5.

Video:

Alpine Garland

Notes: Top: Apple, pear, seneca grass;  Middle - Lavender, plum, spearmint; Bottom - Amber, oak moss, fir balsam, tobacco, tonka bean, sandalwood

A super fresh apple scent with a men's fresh body wash note. It's a fantastic scent, although based on the name and the picture of a wreath on the label, I expected something with pine. But there are already enough pine scents in this collection.

Throw: Very good, 3 or 3.5 out of 5

Cinnamon Sparkle
(added 11/7/17 - not in video)

Notes: Top - Sweet hay, lavender sprig; Middle - Cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, cumin; Bottom - Fir Balsam, vanilla, oud wood, leather, oak wood

Fantastic slightly sweet cinnamon scent. On cold sniff it's not a Big Red or cinnamon candy scent; it smells like real cinnamon powder mixed with just a little powdered sugar. Melted though, it does take on a bit of that cinnamon candy note. I'm not a fan of straight cinnamon scents, but this one is actually quite nice.

Throw: Medium, 3 or 3.5 out of 5

Frosted Bayberry

Notes: Top - Fallen snow, sparkling citrus, winter winds; Middle - Ice capped balsam, triple mint, sterling spruce; Bottom - White cedar, agave nectar

This smells like a green plant of some kind, like grass, with maybe a little bit of a fresh air note, and a smidgen of basil although this is not a savory or pungent scent at all. It has just a smidgen of sweetness, although I don't smell that when melted. When I think of bayberry, I think of a piney type scent with a little sweetness and nutmeg and a hint of patchouli and a smidgen of berry, but the real bayberry plant (without the added spices) is actually a green scent with a bay leaf note. On cold sniff I didn't really smell mint, but when melted, I do get that sinus clearing effect when I put my nose close to it, and I do smell the mint, although it's more like mint leaves from the garden. But I don't smell mint unless my nose is right up to the warmer. I didn't care for this scent, as it's a bit too green and bland.

Throw: Very good, 3 or 3.5 out of 5

Frosted Evergreen

Notes: Top - Dewy grass, eucalyptus, orange peel, frosted leaves; Middle - Spearmint, peppermint, galbanum; Bottom - Ylang, pine

I smell a slightly smoky pine mixed with a soapy note, not a Pine-Sol or industrial cleaner type of soap, more like a Dove or Ivory bar soap that only has a little bit of a soapy scent. There's also a hint of spearmint, but it's subtle. And there's a fresh note that makes it smell a little bit like bathroom cleaner (but not in a bad way) or even body wash (although it's not sweet enough); that fresh note might be a hint of citrus, like grapefruit. It's not a sweet scent at all. At first I didn't like it, but it's actually quite nice.

Throw: Excellent, 4 out of 5

Fruit Garland
(added 11/7/17 - not in video)

Notes: Top - Green apple, pineapple, frosted mint leaves; Middle - Cinnamon, fir needle, plum rose; Bottom - Cedarwood, sweet musk

I love this scent! It'a a perfect combination of pine and sweet fruit. Looking at the scent notes, I do smell fruit but I thought maybe it was cranberry; I don't smell apple or pineapple per se. I also don't smell rose. But musk, perhaps, since it does have a bit of sweetness although it's not a perfumey scent at all.

Throw: Medium, 3 or 3.5 out of 5

Ginger Cookie

Notes: Top - Cardamom, Nutmeg, lemon leaf; Middle - Ginger root, coriander seed, sage leaf; Bottom - Red molasses, cinnamon bark, almond milk

It's gingerbread, and it smells fantastic, and super strong on cold sniff! It's slightly sweeter and richer than some other gingerbread scents I've smelled, which is good.

Throw: Excellent, 4 out of 5

Holiday Frosting

Notes: Top - Citron zest, orange rind, raw cinnamon sticks; Middle - Turbinado sugar, apple halves, buttercream; Bottom - Tonka bean, whipped musk, vanilla extract

This scent might easily get passed over because it sounds like it could be just another vanilla scent. But it's not. It smells like a sweet buttery almond nut shortcake cookie. The almond is not overwhelming, and I can smell the actual warmth of the cookie. It's very similar to last year's Winter White Cookies trio, especially the brown scent from that trio, and might in fact be the same scent, although I think those scents were slightly more nutty. Fantastic yummy scent!

Throw: Good, 3 out of 5

Joy Peppermint

Notes: Top - Peppermint, Spearmint, Eucalyptus; Middle - Vanilla Sugar, Coconut, Butter, Anise, Caramel; Bottom - Vanilla Cream, White Musk

This is a super sweet vanilla buttercream scent with just a subtle note of peppermint. Very nice! If you don't like peppermint scents, you might still like this one because the mint is not strong at all. It reminds me of buttermint candies (https://www.mccormick.com/recipes/dessert/butter-mints).

Throw: Very good, 3 or 3.5 out of 5

Silver Fir

Notes: Top - Winter berry, green apple, orange rind; Middle - Clove, orange flower, fir needle; Bottom - Cedarwood, sandalwood, pine, fir balsam

A pine scent with a little bit of a smoky note. This smells almost exactly like the new Woodland Pine scent, although I think there's a very slight difference. I believe this is the same scent as Hanna's Candles' new Sparkle & Joy scent "Through the Woods".

Throw: Excellent, 4 out of 5

Vintage Holiday

Notes: Top - Bergamot, fresh linen, vanilla flower; Middle - Black pepper, amber, brushed suede; Bottom - Tobacco flower, caramel, musk, lavender

This smells a little bit like the new Goose Creek scent "Jingle Bells", which is why I love it. It's not really a holiday/winter scent, and can be melted any time of the year. It's a sweet perfumey scent, but not a floral perfume, and it might have some cashmere for warmth. But I also smell a sweet pear syrup note, with maybe a bit of blackberry for richness, so this scent also has a little bit of a fruity note. There might also be a hint of vanilla.

Throw: Excellent, 4 out of 5, and the scent lasted all day (at least 9 or 10 hours)

Woodland Pine

Notes: Top - Fir needle; Middle - Cedarwood; Bottom - Musk

This might be the same scent as Hanna's Candle's Woodland Pine which is on their website at http://www.candlemart.com. It's a pine scent with a smoky note. On cold sniff it smells just like Silver Fir. But when melted, Woodland Pine is a little smokier and richer than Silver Fir; in fact, it's almost too rich and strong, so it's best for a large room.

Throw: Excellent, 5 out of 5, a scent monster that took over the entire house

Yuletide Cheers
(added 11/7/17 - not in video)

Notes: Top - Citrus, Apple; Middle - Sweet Spice; Bottom - Orange, Cinnamon

Apple cider with mulling spices and a little bit of a sour note.

Throw: Strong, 3.5 or 4 out of 5

Video:

I've never tried Swan Creek Wax Melts before. They're expensive, but that's because they're almost twice as large as most wax melts, such as those from Walmart. Swan Creek Wax Melts can be purchased on their website at http://www.swancreekcandle.com, as well as some gift shops and stores such as Bass Pro and Tractor Supply.

I found these at Tractor Supply. There were only a few other scents, but none that really stood out, and I didn't want to purchase too many because of the price. They're 4.75 oz. clamshells for $5.99 each. Each clamshell has 6 cubes. If you normally use 1 cube of wax from a regular 2.5oz. package of wax, then you'll need to cut a cube of Swan Creek wax in half. These are 100% soy wax, so the texture of the wax is soft, greasy and messy, and it crumbles easily.

I did another review of 3 different Swan Creek scents on November 2, 2017 at http://www.scentedwaxreviews.com/2017/11/swan-creek-candle-drizzle-melts-reviews.html.

Bourbon Maple Sugar
Notes: A mild bourbon note blends with a rich aroma of brown sugar and maple

This smells so good I want to take a bite out of the wax! It smells like butterscotch and maple syrup and it's very very sweet and rich. But unlike a lot of caramely mapley scents, it's not salty at all. And I detect another note that does indeed smell like bourbon or some kind of sweet liquor. But unlike other liquor type scents I've smelled, this one does not have that sour fermentation note at all. It's an unbelievably yummy scent. Throw was strong, 3.5 or 4 out of 5, and the scent lasted about 3 hours.

Lavender & Lemongrass
Notes: A lovely spring fragrance with a potpourri twist of lavender and citrus notes.

This is a spa lemon scent with a lemongrass note, a little bit of a soapy note, and just a smidgen of lavender. The lemon is quite strong, like the juicy inside of a lemon mixed with a little bit of the bitter rind. It's a very nice spa scent. Throw was medium, 3 out of 5, and the scent lasted about 3 hours.

Roasted Espresso
Notes: Our all-time best selling fragrance! Pure espresso, a heavy rich coffee throw!

Espresso is right! This is a super strong, super bitter coffee scent with no sweetness at all and maybe just a smidgeon of cream. It's a very authentic espresso scent too, not a fake coffee at all. But it's very strong and bitter. I would have liked it better mixed with vanilla to cut the bitterness a bit. If you're a fan of strong, bitter espresso, this is the scent to get! Throw was bold, 5 out of 5, and I smelled it through the whole house! The scent lasted about 3 hours.

Cinnamon Stick
I'm not a fan of straight cinnamon scents, like Big Red gum or red hot candies. But this is different, and I really like it. It's a very sweet candy scent with cinnamon, but the cinnamon is not too strong. There might also be a smidgen of a fruity note in there, which makes this scent kind of unique. Disappointly, throw was 0 or maybe 1 out of 5.

Evergreen Forest
It's a nice pine scent. What else can I say? You can never go wrong with pine. Throw was excellent, 3.5 or 4 out of 5.

Frosted Pine
This is a pine scent with another note I can't figure out. "Frosted" makes me think mint, but I don't detect mint. I do smell cloves, and maybe a woodsy slightly smoky scent in the background, and a smidgen of something salty, like salty lemon, but I can't be sure. It's not a sweet scent at all. It smells quite nice. But throw was pretty much non-existent, 0 out of 5. When I stuck my nose a few inches away after a half hour, the scent was almost gone.

Sugared Berries
On cold sniff I smell sweet raspberry and tart cranberry, and maybe even a little bit of blackberry and/or blueberry. It's a very nice scent. It's very sweet but it definitely has a tartness. When melted though, it took on a whole new dimension! It smelled like sweet cat pee or even worse, a sweet rotting corpse. I'm not even kidding; my roommate has his windows open and told me he thought there was a dead animal outside! But throw was excellent, 3.5 or 4 out of 5.

Vanilla Wishes
Sweet vanilla buttercream with nutmeg, which gives this a little bit of a pumpkin pie note. There may also be a hint of ginger. Although I do smell the vanilla, it's not really a vanilla scent. Very nice! Throw was poor, 1 out of 5, and might not even do well in a tiny room.

Winter Woods
On cold sniff this smells like sweet pine scented soap with a slight floral note and maybe some kind of berries. Melted, I don't detect floral or berries, and it smells more like sweet soapy pine or bayberry scented bathroom cleaner, but not in a bad way, and it's not a Pine-Sol type scent at all (so it's totally different from the Living Colors Harvest Wreath scent that came out in September). Throw was good, 3 out of 5.

Sam's Smell Goods is a small scented wax melts vendor based in Virginia. Her wax melts are a parasoy blend, all handmade and made to order, with zero additives or artificial colors. And all the melts are white, so no dyes to stain your warmer. Her wax comes in a couple of different shapes, including the regular rectangular clamshells, as well as flower and heart shapes.

I received my order very quickly, and Samantha was a breeze to work with. She stayed in close communication with me, and was professional and friendly at all times. I really enjoyed working with her.

Sam's Smell Goods can be found on Etsy at https://www.etsy.com/shop/SamsSmellGoods, and her Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/samssmellgoodsetsy/.

She has a coupon code for 10% off 25 or more melts that's good through October 31, 2017. The code is HALLOWEEN10.

Basil Sage & Mint

Notes: An exhilarating blend of cool mint, refreshing basil and earthy sage enhanced with a sparkle of citrus and underscored with white musk and woods.

This smells a little bit like Dawn dish detergent (but not in a bad way at all) or a nice shampoo or body wash (but it's not a cologne or perfumey scent). It's fantastic! It's clean and soapy and a tiny bit herbal, with a little bit of sweetness and there might be a smidgen of sweet kitchen lemon. I also smell a hint of spa type mint, although it's barely noticeable, but it gives this scent a tiny bit of a ScentSationals Zen type note. Looking at the scent notes, the smidgen of lemon I smell is the citrus, and the slight sweetness is the white musk. I don't smell basil or sage, and this is not an earthy or savory scent at all. Throw was very good, 3 or 3.5 out of 5.

Blueberry Cheesecake

Notes: A luscious buttery bakery accord leads to the blend of wild blueberry and cheesecake filling at the heart of this fragrance. Sweet vanilla bean creates gourmand appeal for the fruit dessert.

This smells yummy. It smells like sweet blueberries with a bready note, so it's more like a blueberry muffin scent than blueberry cheesecake. Throw was fair, 2.5 or 3 out of 5.

Falling Leaves

Notes: A wonderful blend of orange slices, peaches, and apples surrounded by crushed cloves and ground cinnamon with a warm background of tonka and sweet vanilla.

This smells like apple cider with a little bit of mulling spices, and maybe a bit of woodsiness in the background. It's a perfect fall scent. Looking at the scent notes, I don't smell orange or peach. Throw was good, 3 out of 5.

Lemon Lilac

Notes: A sweet floral combination consisting of rose, lily of the valley, wild jasmine, and sweet lilac flowers blended perfectly with airy lemongrass, citrus oils and juicy fresh accords.

This smells like lemon verbena with a slight citronella note, and maybe a hint of regular lemon, and a little bit of lilac. It's a nice spa type scent. Looking at the scent notes, I don't smell as much floral as the notes would suggest. And I don't think I detect rose, lily of the valley, or jasmine. Melted, it's a nice soapy lemony citronella lilac scent. Throw was excellent, 3.5 or 4 out of 5.

Mandarin Cranberry

Notes: A zesty scent that blends mandarins and golden oranges into a fruit medley of juicy cranberries and plums.

A perfect blend of sweet citrusy orange and tart cranberry. I think I detect a smidgeon of grape, but looking at the scent notes, that's probably the plum. Melted, I smell mostly the orange, like a fruity berry orange punch type scent. Very nice! Throw was very good, 3 or 3.5 out of 5, but scent only lasted about an hour.

Mountain Memories

Notes: Rich earth notes blend with dark amber and patchouli for a fragrance that will remind you of snowy mountain caps and a comforting fireplace inside of a log cabin.

I really like this one! It smells like cloves, smoke, black pepper, and maybe a smidgen of pine, in that order. It's a warm fireplace type scent. Throw was excellent, 4 or 4.5 out of 5.

Napa Valley Sunset

Notes: A musky fig tonality blends with a tart fruit scent. The subtle pear juice and gentle white musk nuance blend together to enhance and complete this fragrant accord. Inspired by the BBW scent

I can't figure out what I'm smelling. A sweet peach or apricot maybe, but there's another note in there, almost like pepper. It's a nice, unique scent. Looking at the scent notes, okay it's pear, although I'm not sure where the peppery note is coming from; maybe the musk and fig? Throw was fair, 2.5 or 3 out of 5.

Orange Sherbet

Notes: A bright scent with juicy sweet orange notes, exotic Hawaiian pineapple, and tropical red fruits swirled in a pool of creamy vanilla.

I very nice orange creamsicle type scent. It's not quite as sweet as other orange creamsicle scents I've smelled, but then it's orange sherbet, not a creamsicle. The orange scent was kind of like that powdered orange Tang rather than an authentic orange, but that's okay, as it's a very nice, refreshing scent. Looking at the scent notes, I don't smell pineapple or red fruits, but I'm sure they're somewhere in the background. Throw was poor, 1.5 or maybe 2 out of 5.

Peppermint Apple Patty

Notes: This sparkling clean and refreshing fragrance is a classic blend of peppermint with light nuances of warm vanilla on top of a rich combination of green apple, clove buds and red hot cinnamon creates a nostalgic scent of the holiday season.

Who knew the combination of apple and peppermint could smell so fantastic? This is Sam's own blend and it was a fantastic and very creative idea! It smells like an apple scented candy cane. It's sweet peppermint with apple and a little cinnamon and maybe a touch of vanilla. It smells a little bit like Better Homes & Gardens A Wonderful Winter. Throw was good, 3 out of 5.

Watermelon Lemonade

Notes: Watermelon chunks are mixed with iced lemonade in this ultra refreshing scent

Although this scent is weak on cold sniff, I smell watermelon with a hint of lemon. Refreshing! Throw was poor, maybe 2 out of 5.
