These scents were not available when I did my first Goose Creek Candle Spring 2019 wax melts review in January.

Lavender Vanilla

Description: This soothing aroma will drift you into a deeply relaxing mood.

Notes: Top: Fresh Lavender, Violet, Rose; Mid: Red Fruits, Jasmine; Base: Amber, Cedarwood, Warm Vanilla

I adore this scent! It's authentic lavender with a rich vanilla buttercream note, and maybe a smidgen of caramel. It also has a warm note, like amber or cashmere. And possibly another barely detectable floral way in the background, like gardenia. It's sweet but not perfumey. All of the notes are balanced just perfectly. There are lots of other lavender vanilla scents out there, and they all smell like the Bath & Body Works or Yankee Lavender Vanilla, with that odd coconut note. I really like those other lavender vanilla type scents, but nothing compares to this one. This might be one of the best scents I've ever smelled!! Looking at the notes, I don't smell fruit or rose.

Throw: Medium, 3.25 out of 5

Orange Cream Soda

Description: Orange soda is poured over sweet vanilla cream satisfying every classic float lover.

Notes: Top: Creamy Vanilla, Bright Orange; Mid: Mixed Citrus, Soft Fizz; Base: Soda Notes, Sugar

This smells just like an orange creamsicle. I've smelled other orange vanilla and orange dreamsicle type scents before, but this one might be the best. It's a nice balance of fake, slightly tangy orange drink powder (in a good way) with super sweet creamy vanilla. I can't stop smelling it! I think it's a little more orangey/tangy than other similar scents I've smelled, which is also a good thing. Looking at the scent notes, I don't detect any fizzy or soda notes, which is also a good thing.

Throw: Strong, 3.5 out of 5

Sunday Drive

Description: Windows down, hair is blowing as you cruise down the backroads without a care in the world.

Notes: Top: Cactus Flower, Soft Raspberry; Mid: Sparkling Lemon, Jasmine; Base: Sun-Kissed Coconut, Vanilla

I love this scent! It smells like a combination of coconut, a rich warm floral, a fruity note like raspberry, and a little bit of a cologne note, although it's not a cologne scent at all. It's sweet but not perfumey. Looking at the scent notes, they're right on point, although I don't smell lemon, and cactus flower might be the salty note that I think is bergamot (which gives scents a cologney note).

Throw: Bold, 5 out of 5

Unicorn Candy

Description: The mouthwatering aroma of sour candies covered with sparkling sugar.

Notes: Top: Blue Raspberry, Candied Sugar; Mid: Rock Candy, Peach Crème; Base: Wild Currant, Mixed Berry

This smells like a super sweet raspberry and blueberry (blue raspberry?) candy with a hint of lemony tartness. It has a cotton candy note, but it's not quite as sugary and does have that hint of lemon. It smells like a blue raspberry slushie, or fruity hard candies. I love this scent, and it lasted all day!
Someone in the group said it "has a pronounced blue raspberry with a touch of sugar or cotton candy maybe. It’s sweet, but brighter. It reminds me of snow cones at the carnival."

Comparing this to ScentSationals Unicorn Cake and Hobby Lobby Unicorn Dreams, all 3 scents are completely different from each other, despite the similar names.

Throw: Bold, 5 out of 5

Yuzu Lime

Description: A bright citrus blend. The aroma of beautiful farm-fresh citruses fill the air.

Notes: Top: Sharp Citrus, Yuzu Lime, Lime Juice;
Mid: Lemon Juice, Grapefruit, Mandarin; Base: Sparkling Water, Light Musk

Yuzu is a citrus fruit that has zesty notes of lemon, lime, bitter grapefruit, mandarin (orange), and oregano. I smell the orange first, with the lime note. It's a little sweet. Looking at the notes, I don't smell musk, as it's not a perfumey scent at all. And there are sparkling, fizzy notes. I really like this one, but the scent dissipated within 2 hours.

Throw: Strong, 3.75 out of 5

Goose Creek Candle Wax Melts - Spring 2019

Video

This is a review of Goose Creek Candles wax melts Spring 2019 scents. As is usually the case with Goose Creek Candle scents, these are very nice!

Angel Food Cake

Notes:
Top: Angel Food Cake, Warm Vanilla Bean
Mid: Whipped Cream, Soft Pear
Base: Cream Cake, Warm Sugar

Fantastic scent, and a bit unusual. It smells like slightly burnt sugar (in a good way) and milky vanilla, with a toasted marshmallow note, a hint of caramel, and maybe a barely detectable smidgen of some kind of fruit. It's sweet and rich, but not cloyingly sweet. On cold sniff I thought it might have a perfumey note, but when melted it does not. Looking at the scent notes, the fruit I'm detecting is the pear, but it's barely noticeable.

Throw: Strong, 3.75 out of 5

Baby Powder

Notes:
Top: Lemon, Lavender, Powder
Mid: Baby Powder Essence
Base: Violet, Rose, Cedarwood

It's baby powder! And it's fantastic! It has another note in there though that differentiates it from baby powder slightly, a bit of a musky note. Looking at the notes, I don't detect lemon, lavender, violet, rose or cedar. Perhaps the rose ever so slightly.

Throw: Strong, 4 out of 5

Island Bliss

Notes:
Top: Mandarin Orange, Amber, Sandalwood
Mid: Coconut Nectar, Kiwi Flower
Base: Soft Pear, Sandalwood

This is a fresh watery perfumey scent with a hint of lemon and possibly a smidgen of plum or a tropical fruit way in the background. Looking at the scent notes, the lemon I'm smelling is actually the orange, and the other fruit I guess is the pear. The tropical note must be the coconut. I don't smell sandalwood or any woodsy notes at all. It's quite nice!

Throw: Medium, 3 out of 5

Mahogany Driftwood

Notes:
Top: Lemon, Orange, Cardamom
Mid: Jasmine, Rosemary
Base: Mahogany, Teakwood, Driftwood

This is a men's cologne scent with woodsy, pine, and slightly smoky notes. On cold sniff, I smell more of the woodsy notes. But when melted, I smell more of the cologne note, although it's not an intense, sweet cologne scent. It's quite nice, kind of like ScentSationals Black Tux. Looking at the notes, I don't smell lemon or orange at all. The combination of rosemary and mahogany might be the pine I think I detect. And I guess the jasmine provides that hint of sweetness.

Throw: Strong, 3.75 out of 5

Sage Leaf & Citrus

Notes:
Top: Sage, Bright Citrus, Warm Leaves
Mid: Lavender, Geranium
Base: Patchouli, Powder, Musk

This smells like Sage & Citrus scents from other companies. Like other Sage & Citrus scents, I don't actually smell sage or citrus. Sage is a savory herb, and this is a slightly sweet scent, not savory. As for the citrus, perhaps a very sweet lemon? Although if I didn't know it's supposed to have a citrus note, I would not detect it. It's a nice, unique scent that smells a bit like an industrial cleaner, but not in a bad way at all. I like this Goose Creek version better than others I've smelled, as there seems to be a hint of something else way in the background that almost gives it a tiny bit of a foodie vibe. Looking at the notes, yes, I would definitely call this scent "bright", so I guess it IS citrus that I'm smelling. I don't detect lavender, but I think I do detect a hint of patchouli. And it's not a perfumey scent, so I don't smell musk.

Throw: Strong, 3.75 out of 5

Storm Front

Notes:
Top: Orange, Red Pineapple, White Peach
Mid: Crisp Apple, Jasmine, Lavender
Base: Cedarwood, Sandalwood, Amber

This is a lovely perfume scent with musky and slightly peppery notes, a hint of a sweet floral like gardenia, a touch of bergamot that gives it a little bit of a cologney note, and maybe a smidgen of creamy fruit and light wood. It smells great! The scent notes are pretty accurate, although I don't smell orange and pineapple per se, but there definitely is a fruit note in there somewhere.

Throw: Strong, 3.5 out of 5

Wind Blown Cotton

Notes:
Top: Soft Cotton, Fresh Air
Mid: Sun Rays, Spring Breeze
Base: Soft Sandalwood, Gentle Flowers

This is a laundry scent, but different from any others I've smelled. That's because it has barely any sweetness. It's not a harsh or soapy laundry detergent scent either, more like fabric softener but not powdery, floral or perfumey. It's quite pleasant. If you like laundry scents but they give you a headache, try this one! Looking at the notes, I don't smell sandalwood per se, but that might be what's keeping this scent from being too sweet.

Throw: Strong, 3.5 out of 5

Goose Creek Candles Wax Melts Reviews - Fall 2018

Goose Creek Candles Wax Melts Reviews - Fall 2018

Goose Creek Candles Wax Melts - Fall 2018

Video

These are the new Goose Creek Candles wax melts scents for Fall 2018. Goose Creek Candle's website is https://goosecreekcandle.com. I'm a fan of Goose Creek's wax melts. The scents are high quality and the throw tends to be quite strong. Highly recommended!

Autumn Leaf & Amber

Description:
Escape to the woods in a secluded autumn lake house. Leaves shimmer as the evening sun sets.

Notes
Top: Delicious Red Apple, Sparkling Amber
Mid: Fallen Leaves, Autumn Lake House
Base: Cedarwood, Rich Patchouli, Vanilla

This is not a sweet scent at all, more savory, peppery and a little sour/bitter. It's a peppery apple scent, and the apple is more of an old apple that fell on the ground after the fall season and mixed with old brown leaves. But not in a bad way. It's different. Looking at the notes, there's the apple and fallen leaves, not sure what an autumn lake house smells like though! On cold sniff I do detect a hint of amber (which is a sweet warm woodsy scent) and patchouli, but I don't smell those at all when melted.

Throw: Strong, 3.5 out of 5

Bedtime Stories

Description:
Roasting marshmallows by the fire, the imaginations run wild as our favorite bedtime stories are being told. (formerly Campfire Marshmallow)

Notes
Top: Campfire Marshmallow, Warm Vanilla Bean
Mid: Whipped Cream, Light Smokey Notes
Base: Vanilla Extract, Sandalwood, Soft Balsam

A nice rich vanilla marshmallow scent with a smidgen of a smoky note. The Goose Creek website says this is the same scent as their 2016 Campfire Marshmallow scent (https://www.scentedwaxmeltreviews.com/2016/06/goose-creek-candle-scented-wax-melts-review.html), but I recall that scent having more of a slight laundry or perfumey note, and not as much marshmallow, and the throw was not good. This scent smells more like their Marshmallows scent from May 2018 (https://www.scentedwaxmeltreviews.com/2018/05/goose-creek-candle-wax-melts-reviews-may-2018.html)

Throw: Strong, 3.5 out of 5

Carnival Pralines

Description:
The scent of carnival treats fills the air. Caramel, vanilla and chocolate, oh my!

Notes
Top: Warm Caramel, Toasted Hazelnut
Mid: Delicious Pralines, Chocolate Cream
Base: Whipped Vanilla, Salty Essence

A nice rich caramel scent with a milk chocolate note. Yummy!

Throw: Medium, 3 out of 5

Pumpkin Cupcake

Description:
A perfectly sweet pumpkin cupcake topped with vanilla bean & caramel swirl icing.

Notes
Top: Pumpkin Cake Batter, Vanilla Bean
Mid: Sweet Pumpkin, Soft Cinnamon
Base: Caramel, Almond, Brown Sugar

A rich warm caramel bakery scent with a slight vanilla note and maybe a hint of pumpkin spice, and a smidgen of a nutty note. It's not all that pumpkiny, or even spicy, which is good.

Throw: Strong, 3.5 out of 5

Sunflower Daydream

Description:
Beautiful sunflowers drift gently in a cool harvest breeze.

Notes
Top: Sunflowers, Sweet Autumn Apple
Mid: Jasmine, Rose, Ozonic
Base: Cedarwood, Amber, Musk

This is a salty caramel apple scent with a bit of a warm amber note. But it's not a perfumey scent, or even a floral scent at all, and definitely not a sunflower type scent. It's very salty, with almost a popcorn note, but also sweet. I like it!

Throw: Strong, 3.5 out of 5

Warm & Welcome

Description:
It's a warm and cozy embrace as you grab a comfy blanket and start season 2 of your favorite new show.

Notes
Top: Warm Glowing Amber, Vanilla Sandalwood
Mid: Vanilla Orchid, Marshmallow Crème
Base: White Mocha, Vanilla, Creamy Woods

This smells like marshmallow with a soft slightly cashmere note. It's a little sweet with just a tiny bit of a perfumey note, but it's not a perfumey scent at all. It's rich and warm and might have a hint of caramel, and maybe a barely detectable smidgen of chocolate, but although it smells yummy, it's not really a foodie scent. I like it.

Throw: Strong, 3.5 out of 5

I didn't get Carving Pumpkins or Fluffy Pancakes (I was told that they won't be available in melts, only candles).

Goose Creek Candle Scented Wax Melts Review - November 2016

Goose Creek Candle Scented Wax Melts

Watch video below:

This is yet another review of Goose Creek Candle scented wax melts. These 10 scents are relatively new, from the past few months. At this poit I've pretty much reviewed every available Goose Creek wax melt scent. Although these can be found at some stores, I haven't seen them in my area so I order them from Goose Creek's website at http://www.goosecreekcandle.com.

Please also read my other Goose Creek scented wax melt reviews at:
- http://www.scentedwaxreviews.com/2016/04/goose-creek-candle-scented-wax-melts.html
- http://www.scentedwaxreviews.com/2016/06/goose-creek-candle-scented-wax-melts-review.html

Goose Creek has a lot of sales, often every few weeks, and it's usually a 50% sitewide sale, or 20 wax melts for the price of 10. It's best to wait for a sale rather than buy them full price.

Mulberry
"Sun sweetened mulberries blend beautifully with light notes of cherry and an undertone of vanilla."
This smells a little like cherry but with that cherry cough syrup note, which is nice. There's also a hint of bitterness that makes it more of a wild berry type scent. It's a nice scent, although not my favorite. Throw was fair, maybe a 2.5 or 3 out of 5, but scent started dissipating within an hour and then it took on a chemical note.

Auburn Lake
"Fruity notes of black currant, Sicilian bergamot and mandarin that blend into a heart of fir balsam, peach nectar and black orchid. A warm base of patchouli, dark chocolate, tobacco leaves and Tahitian vanilla finish this serene fragrance."
On cold sniff I smell sweet wood with cloves or tobacco and just a smidgeon of smokiness. It almost has a bit of a barbecue sauce vibe. Looking at the scent notes, there's black currant which makes scents smell classy. I don't smell fir or balsam at all, although that might be the smokiness I detect. There's tobacco and patchouli. I don't smell any chocolate at all. Melted, it's definitely a woodsy tobacco clove type scent and does smell a bit like barbecue sauce. Throw is fair, maybe a 2.5 or 3 out of 5.

White Coral
"This beautiful rich aroma combines black currant, peach and orange. The heart blends light notes of rose, orange blossom, jasmine and freesia. The bottom is a warming vanilla, sandalwood and light musk."
This is a very sweet perfumey scent with maybe a hint of coconut and perhaps a smidgeon of some kind of fruit, and maybe a little amber for warmth. It's similar to Scentsy Luna and ScentSationals Blackberry Cider. Looking at the scent notes, there's black currant which gives this scent a rich classy feel. I guess I do smell peach just a little, but not orange at all. I don't smell rose, but I think I smell jasmine, and the musk gives it that warm perfumey note. Throw is good, around a 3 or maybe 3.5 out of 4.

Sweet Banana Bread
"This scrumptious homemade treat folds bananas, sugared pralines and buttered pecans into a sweet mix of whipped honey, caramel swirl, cinnamon and brown sugar. Vanilla creme adds the perfect finishing touch."
This is very rich, more like a sweet banana cake with brown sugar crumbles on top. It smells fantastic! Now that I've read the scent notes, I guess I do detect a nuttiness from the pecans. I don't smell cinnamon, which is good, because too many bakery scents add cinnamon. This smells better than Mainstays Banana Nut Bread and Better Homes & Gardens Banana Bread Pudding (both from Walmart, although the pudding scent has been discontinued). And throw is fantastic, at least a 4 or 4.5 out of 5.

Dark Vanilla Bean
"Classic rich French vanilla cream. A bit of toasted coconut & caramel butter brings warmth & longevity."
On cold sniff this is just a plain milky vanilla, and not very strong. I expected it to be much richer or more exotic or just "different" somehow. Looking at the scent notes, I might detect a smidgeon of coconut, but no caramel or buttery notes. Throw is not good, maybe a 2.5 out of 5.

Cherry Cheesecake
"Sweet notes of vanilla cream cheese, a juicy cherry topping and sugared vanilla."
This one is disappointing on cold sniff. I just smell a fake sweet non-descript berry and it doesn't even smell foodie like candy or cake. However, it does smell better melted. I do smell the cherry (although it still smells fake), and I guess what they're trying to pass off as cheese but kind of smells like white bread or old milk. If it weren't for that note, I would probably like it even with the fake fruit note. Throw is excellent, around a 4 out of 5.

Beach Party

"Fruity blend of lemon, lime, orange, mango, black currant and peach. Sugar, musk and vanilla adds the perfect finishing touch."
This smells fantastic, like sweet lemon and maybe plum. It smells similar to Scentsy Summer Sunset, but more lemony. Throw is excellent, 4 out of 5.

Under the Oaks
"Warm and rustic woods blend beautifully with fresh bergamot, neroli, and oakmoss. A fresh breeze brings warming notes of mahogany, jasmine, and sandalwood."
I smell raw wood but I can't figure out the other notes, maybe a smidgeon of pine. Looking at the scent notes, I don't smell neroli or jasmine, although there is just a smidgeon of sweetness which could be one of those notes. When melted, however, I don't smell any sweetness, just a very woodsy scent with a hint of pine. Throw is excellent, 3.5 or 4 out of 5.

Wildest Dreams
"A fruity mix of bergamot, pear, orange and cassis wraps around a floral bouquet of jasmine, muguet and apple blossom while a sensual base of musk, sandalwood, cedarwood, vanilla, amber and tonka leaves a lasting impression."
On cold sniff it smells like sandalwood and men's cologne. I don't smell fruit, but now that I know it's in there, I might detect a very slight peachy note, but no orange or apple. When melted though, it took on a slight cat pee vibe that I didn't like. Throw is quite good, around a 3 or 3.5 out of 5.

Day in the Sun
"Enjoy the sunshine with this fruity floral fragrance blending sparkling bergamot, lemon zest, petitgrain and neroli with orange blossom, tuberose and Tahitian tiare. Coconut and musk add warmth and a sense of calm."
This smells just like Coppertone Suntan Oil, like Yankee Candle Sun & Sand. Throw is excellent, 3.5 to 4 out of 5.

Goose Creek Candle Scented Wax Melts Review - June 2016

Goose Creek Candle Scented Wax Melts Review - June 2016

Watch video below:

Please also read my other Goose Creek scented wax melt reviews at http://www.scentedwaxreviews.com/2016/03/goose-creek-candle-scented-wax-melts-0316.html and http://www.scentedwaxreviews.com/2016/04/goose-creek-candle-scented-wax-melts.html.

Goose Creek has a lot of sales. The regular price for their wax is $4, but you'll often see sales for $3.20 or so. However, they often have a "20 for 10" sale, where you can buy 20 melts for the price of 10. But with that sale, you're stuck buying wax in multiples of 20 (20, 40, or 60). They also tend to have a lot of "50% off everything" holiday sales, which is how I got the scents below. They had a 50% off Memorial Day sale, so each wax melt was $2. With Goose Creek, it's best to wait until the sales. Maybe they'll have one for Independence Day?

Watermelon Patch

"Enjoy notes of green grass, fresh melon and water flower"

I'm not a fan of watermelon scents unless it's sweet candy watermelon, but I heard so many good things about this scent that I decided to give it a try. It's not at all what I expected. It's definitely not a sweet candy scent, nor is it even all that fruity or melony. But it's very nice! What sets it apart from other watermelon scents is the dirt note. Yes, dirt, like potting soil. It sounds like a bad thing, but it works in making this scent smell exactly like the name, a watermelon patch, rather than actual watermelon. It's like being in a big field of watermelons on a hot summer day, and the watermelon plants are still wet from the sprinklers. I can smell the moist grassy dirt and a little bit of the sweetness from the outside of the watermelon rinds. This is a fresh, summery fragrance.
Looking at the scent notes now, yes I do smell grass, but I don't smell a floral and I'm not sure what a "water flower" is; maybe that's the very slight watery note I'm detecting.

Melted, it doesn't smell nearly as complex as it does on cold sniff. It's not very strong when melted, and I just smell a fresh grassy watermelony scent. I wish this one were stronger.

Throw: Not great, around a 2.5 out of 5

Sweet Honeysuckle

"Take a walk down the country path just to pick some honeysuckle. The sweet aroma blows in the wind."

Like the name says, it's honeysuckle. It's very realistic too, not overly sweet, and there's a smidgeon of soapiness, like it could be a really high quality honeysuckle scented body cream. Nothing is mentioned in the scent description about any notes other than honeysuckle. Melted, it smells like a real honeysuckle flower and I don't detect the soapiness.

Throw: Very Good, around a 3.5 out of 5

Tuscan Vineyard

"Sun-ripened grapes and fruity peach blended with a hint of green vine leaves and rich red wine."

On cold sniff I smell grape mixed with a warm ambery perfume. It's a nice scent, but there's a smidgeon of a weird eucalyptus note in the background, unless that's just a chemical note. Looking at the scent notes, maybe the rich warmth is the wine, and maybe the eucalyptus is the green vine leaves. Melted, it smells more like a grape/wine scent, like fake grapes but with a slight richness.

Throw: Very Good, around a 3.5 out of 5

Campfire Marshmallow

"This fragrance opens with white spices and toasted marshmallows that blend seamlessly into sugar crystals, and creamy peach. Sandalwood and cedarwood are wrapped in fluffy vanilla. Yum!"

On cold sniff I smell marshmallow with a very slightly smoky background, but I also smell a very slight laundry or perfumey note in the background. It's a really nice scent, but not really all that "marshmallowy". Looking at the scent notes, I do smell cedar, but not peach at all. When melting, I smell mostly the marshmallow, but throw is so weak it's hard to tell.

Throw: Not good, around a 2 out of 5

Clean Linen

"The fresh aroma of clean linens flowing in a warm summer breeze. Bright and elegant, this fragrance evokes a sense of pure bliss. With notes of lemon, apple, lavender and lily."

This smells just like I figured it would, like laundry. But it's a nice clean sweet fabric softener scent, not a harsh laundry detergent scent, and it's very strong on cold sniff. Looking at the notes, I don't smell lemon or apple, but they may be in there in such a slight amount just to add to the fresh clean notes.

Throw: Excellent, at least a 4 out of 5

Southern Gardens

"White lotus, blooming roses, and more."

I smell mostly rose in this one, but it's not overly sweet. I think there are some other flowers mixed in. After an hour of not getting any throw, I almost gave up on it. It finally took an hour and a half to get any throw!

Throw: Fair, around a 2.5 or 3 out of 5

Cool Spring Breeze

"This calming aromatic fragrance blends crushed green leaves, bergamot and green apple with morning rain water, wisteria and spiced woods. White cedar and amberwood adds further serenity."

This one smells like what "Cucumber Rain" should smell like… cucumbers! It's actually cucumber with a slightly fresh air type note. Looking at the scent notes, I can't believe cucumber isn't in there, because that's exactly what I smell.

Throw: Not good, around a 2 out of 5, if that

Cabin in the Woods

"This warm, woody blend of autumn citrus, sheer spice, aged oak and white cedar delights and intrigues the senses. Nuances of amber, sandalwood and crème are added to the base creating a fragrance that is truly intoxicating."

I really like this one. It's a strong patchouli scent with a warm sweet perfumey note and maybe a smidgeon of a pumpkin spice type note. Looking at the scent notes, I'm surprised that I don't see patchouli. Melted, I'm smelling more of the spice and kind of a warm vanilla note and a very slight "leathery" background. This is a very nice complex scent.

Throw: Good, around a 3 out of 5

Juicy Pear

"Farmland apple and poached pears are infused with all-spice, tart cranberries, vanilla extract, and sweet musk in this enticing sweet, fruity indulgence."

This smells just like the name, a juicy pear! It's very sweet, so more like pear nectar. And there's a smidgeon of a perfumey note. Looking at the scent notes, okay there's the sweet musk. I don't smell cranberries, but I guess I might smell a smidgeon of cinnamon type spice although it's barely noticeable.

Throw: Good, around a 3 out of 5

Kentucky Harvest

"The colors of fall are highlighted by the blending of crisp fall apples with touches of caramel and clove. The warmth of vanilla and cedarwood create a fall feel"

This smells like rich yellow vanilla cake with pumpkin perhaps, and something slightly salty which gives it a rich yummy quality, and maybe just a smidgeon of smoke or wood and a very slight perfumey note. Based on the picture of fall leaves on the label, I expected it would be a fall spice type of scent, but it's not. Now looking at the scent notes, the cedar might be the sweet perfumey note I detect. There's the vanilla, and the caramel is the rich salty note. I don't smell cloves, and definitely not apple. Melted, it just smells like rich yellow cake with a hint of something else, but there's barely any throw at all.

Throw: Poor, around a 1.5 out of 5

Sweet Petals

"Cool notes of coconut, currant, and orange bloom."

On cold sniff, this smells like vanilla with coconut and a strong fruity floral note and perfume. I like it; the combination of coconut and floral is quite nice, and a unique take on coconut. Melted, it smells like a rich buttery bakery coconut with a hint of vanilla, and only a smidgeon of floral.

Throw: Excellent, 3.5 or 4 out of 5

Holiday Rum Cake

"A true gourmet delight pairing rich cream, butter and spun sugar with a hint of intoxicating rum and vanilla bean."

This smells like yellow vanilla cake with a hint of coconut and caramel. I don't actually smell rum. Looking at the scent notes, the rum might actually be what I think is coconut. I was surprised that the throw as actually very good, considering that this is mostly a vanillary type scent.

Throw: Excellent, 3.5 or 4 out of 5

Citrus Lavender

"Refreshing lavender with a splash of citrus water. Enjoy notes of lemon, mandarin, lavender, jasmine & sandalwood."

I smell orange first, then a soapy lavender in the background. There may also be a hint of lemon, but it's not strong. The lavender is more of a laundry type lavender rather than a medicinal lavender, which is good. Looking at the scent notes, the mandarin is the orange, and the jasmine is the laundry floral I'm detecting, although this is not a floral scent. Melted, I smell mostly fake orange, with a hint of lemon and the soapiness of the lavender. But I don't actually smell lavender. It's very orangey. It smells like dish detergent, but if that lemon scented dish detergent were actually orange scented dish detergent.

Throw: Excellent, 3.5 or 4 out of 5

Journey at Sea

"Sparkling bergamot, mandarin, nashi pear and golden pineapple entice your senses. The heart is salt grass, watery floral, lily of the valley and white woods."

This one is very light on cold sniff. It smells fresh and watery, but also sweet and a little bit floral, but also a little fruity like there's a hint of peach or strawberry in there. OK looking at the scent notes, I guess the fruits I'm detecting are pear and pineapple. Mandarin is basically orange, and I don't think I smell that. Melted, it smells like a sweet fresh watery scent with some other note in the background that I can't figure out, but none of the actual notes that are mentioned. I don't know if I love this scent or not.

Throw: Very good, around a 3 or 3.5 out of 5

Minted Eucalyptus

"Fresh eucalyptus, mint leaves and sparkling bergamot blend with a floral bouquet of sheer freesia, muguet petals and geranium for a touch of sophistication. Tonka bean, white cedar and musk in the base further evoke an uplifting experience."

This is a nice relaxing spa scent that smells like a combination of mint and laundry. It's not spearmint (so no toothpaste notes), nor is it a sweet mint, although it does have a slight sweetness from a slight floral note. The eucalyptus tempers any sweetness, but it's also not a strong eucalyptus and it doesn't smell like Vicks Vaporub or pine. It smells a lot like ScentSationals Zen scent. Comparing the two, Zen is slightly sweeter, while Minted Eucalyptus is slightly more minty, with a little bit of that nasal clearing effect from the eucalyptus.

Throw: Excellent, 3.5 or 4 out of 5

Cucumber Rain

"A refreshing blend of watery cucumber and airy mimosa highlighted by notes of fresh sea-spray and dewy petals. Island musk, ocean air, and driftwood provide a clean, effortless background."

Despite the name and scent notes, I don't smell any cucumber in this one. It's a nice fresh watery scent, like a unisex body wash or shampoo.

Throw: Not good, around a 2 or 2.5 out of 5

Blackberry Parfait

"Dark Autumn Blackberry is wrapped in a layered parfait of creamy vanilla and sweet amber, decorated with edible petals of jasmine and rose creating a decadent and lavish experience!"

This is a fantastic scent! Although there's a hint of dark berry, I don't smell blackberries. It's a warm, sweet, dark berryish scent that has been duplicated often. This is almost exactly the same as Scentsy Luna and ScentSationals Blackberry Cider. Out of all three, I like this one the best because it's the sweetest. According to the scent notes it looks like this was called "Dark Autumn Blackberry" at one time, or Goose Creek puts out a dupe of this scent with this name in the fall. The amber is what gives this scent its rich warmth. I don't smell any rose.

Throw: Very good, around 3.5 out of 5

Butter Cookie

"The aroma of sugar cookies with bits of buttery toffee and vanilla cream baked to a delicious golden brown"

On cold sniff this smells like fake butter with a moldy note. It's not really sweet and it doesn't smell like cookies. Melted, I don't smell that moldy note, but it still smells like fake butter. It's not a bad scent, just a generic buttery scent.

Throw: Fair, around a 2.5 or 3 out of 5

Spice Cake

"The home baked goodness of a delicious spice cake with warm kitchen spices, baked apples, pecans, and brown sugar."

This one smells a little like the Holiday Rum Cake scent, or like, well, brown spice cake. Although it's not overly spicy and not too sweet. I smell a yellow vanilla cake scent with cinnamon. Looking at the scent notes, I don't smell apples, but pecans, maybe.

Throw: Barely a 1 out of 5

Blueberry Cheesecake

"The rich aroma of juicy blueberries and cream cheese blend beautifully with a dreamy homemade crust."

On cold sniff, this is a really fake blueberry scent with what I guess is supposed to smell like cheese but instead has a fake sour vinyl chemical note. Melted, it does smell better, but still fake.

Throw: Excellent, 4 out of 5

Island Sands

"This fresh and clean fragrance combines sea salt air, fresh melon, rosewater & light musk."

The only way I can describe this scent is coconut vanilla soap. I definitely smell coconut first, but there's also a slightly fresh soapy note in the background, and a smidgeon of vanilla I think. Looking at the scent notes, I can't believe I don't see coconut, because this is primarily a coconut scent. I really like this scent and I hope it throws well. Melted, it's much more coconutty and has a tropical feel to it.

Throw: Excellent, at least a 4 out of 5

Harvest Hayride

"Sweet autumn air, smoky embered woods and warm spices of ginger, cinnamon and clove."

This is a typical fall scent, with the pumpkin and cinnamon and maybe a smidgeon of wood. There may be a hint of clove. This is not a smoky wood type scent, but closer to pumpkin pie.

Throw: Very good, around a 3 or 3.5 out of 5

Carrot Cake

"The aroma of cinnamon, brown sugar and vanilla will create a cozy atmosphere. With notes of citrus, fresh cream, and nutmeg."

I don't know what carrot cake actually smells like, but this smells incredible on cold sniff. It's vanilla with lots of rich caramel and butterscotch, and a little bit of fall spices. Looking at the scent notes, I guess the combination of brown sugar and fresh cream is what makes this so rich. I don't smell any citrus at all.

Throw: Very good, around a 3 or 3.5 out of 5

Christmas Tree Farm

"Rich winter fruits are paired with touches of cinnamon bark and nutmeg lead into the warmth of woods, pine and vanilla in this holiday fragrance."

Based on the name I expected a pine or spruce or balsam scent. Although those notes are in there, they're way in the background. This is more of a patchouli type scent with pine, berry, and perfumey notes, and maybe just a smidgeon of cinnamon. It's really different and I like it on cold sniff. When melted though, it almost has a slight licorice note to it that I'm not crazy about.

Throw: Not great, around a 2.5 out of 5

Christmas Tree Cutting

"A mix of sparkling fresh fir needles, eucalyptus and brisk wintermint opens this aromatic fragrance. Cedarwood and oakmoss combine for a holiday fragrance experience. "

This smells like dirt and spruce. Like you're actually cutting down a Christmas Tree and you can smell the moist earth underneath the tree. The Christmas Tree scent is not a fake pine scent, but more of a warm spruce. There may also be a hint of eucalyptus. And sure enough, there it is in the scent notes. I really like this one. When melted, I don't smell as much of the dirt, and a little more of the eucalyptus, which is good because scents with that dirt note can sometimes be overwhelming.

Throw: Very Good, around a 3.5 out of 5

Holiday Embers

"Pine, orange and white spice is paired with incense and birch that unveil a base of musk, fir balsam and moss."

I smell cloves first, and then a slight smokiness, and maybe patchouli and a little bit of pine. This is a nice, warm scent. Looking at the scent notes, I'm surprised I don't see cloves, but it's probably the musk that provides the sweetness. I don't smell orange at all.

Throw: Very Good, 3 or 3.5 out of 5

Old Time Lemonade

"The thirst quenching, bitter sweet aroma of a freshly squeezed glass of lemonade."

The perfect lemon scent! Really strong lemon, with a slight tartness from the rind, and just a little bit of sugar. It smells like lemonade with a ton of lemons in it. This is not a bakery scent or a kitchen lemon scent, just straight up lemon!

Throw: Not surprisingly, this one is a scent monster, a 5 out of 5!

Toasty Pumpkin Toddy

"Warm up with a blend of apple cider, pumpkin, sparkling orange, and rum spiced with nutmeg, and clove. Maple syrup, melted caramel, and vanilla bean combine for a yummy finish."

Rich buttery salty pumpkin and apple with maple, cinnamon and nutmeg. This smells fantastic. It smells like the regular Toasty Hot Toddy scent (which is fantastic too) with the addition of rich spices. Looking at the scent notes, they're spot on except for orange which I don't smell at all.

Throw: Excellent, 4 out of 5

Orange Berry Slush

"Icy, cool and smooth...with notes of apple, clementine zest, cool cranberry, juicy mandarin, and red currant."

This doesn't really smell like a slushie to me, but it's a very nice scent. I smell orange and then apple and maybe some kind of red berries, but also a slight bitterness which may be grapefruit. But there's another non-fruity note in the background that I can't figure out, maybe something woodsy or even pine. Looking at the scent notes, mandarin is orange, and red currant may be the slightly woodsy note I detect as it's a fruit that has a very slight woodsy note. I think I do smell cranberry too, which may be the slight bitterness. Melted, I smell more of the woodsy red currant than the orange or any of the other notes. In fact, it smells almost exactly like an old Better Homes & Gardens scent called "Red Wood Pomegranate", which also smells a lot like Sonoma "Mistletoe & Holly" (both sweet woodsy scents with a hint of fruit).

Throw: Very Good, 3 or 3.5 out of 5

Caramel Applewood

"This charming scent opens with green apples and whipped butter leading to a sweet, velvety blend of cinnamon, white peach and maple sugar. Vanilla and cedarwood adds a comforting finish."

This is an incredible caramel apple scent. It's rich and buttery, and not overly salty like some caramel apple scents can be. I can actually smell the apple peel under the caramel, like a fresh apple that was just picked from the apple farm. The apple has a slight pear note. The caramel has a little bit of cinnamon in it and maybe a smidgeon of maple. Looking at the scent notes, the smidgeon of pear I'm smelling is probably the peach, and the fresh almost slightly "dirt" scent of the fresh apple is probably the cedarwood.

Throw: Excellent, at least 4 out of 5

Goose Creek Candle Scented Wax Melts Review

Goose Creek Candle Scented Wax Melts Review - April 2016

Goose Creek Candle Scented Wax Melts

Watch video below:

This is the complete review for the "first look" review I did a few weeks ago: http://www.scentedwaxreviews.com/2016/03/goose-creek-candle-scented-wax-melts-first-look.html.

And take a look at the Goose Creek Candles Scented Wax Melts review I did for 20 different scents a few weeks ago: http://www.scentedwaxreviews.com/2016/03/goose-creek-candle-scented-wax-melts-0316.html.

Once again I took advantage of their sale (which seems to occur every few weeks), which is 20 wax melts for the price of 10, bringing the price of each wax melt down from their regular price of $4 each to a much more affordable $2 each (same as Walmart wax)

I like Goose Creek wax melts. I wish the wax were not so soft and messy (similar to Colonial Candles wax melts). And the round clamshells make the soft, messy wax difficult to get out of the package. Other than that, I'm very happy with my order. You always get a couple of duds with every order from every company, so I always expect that.

For the throw, instead of assigning a number score like I usually do (1 out of 5, 2 out of 5, etc.), I'm just going to say it's weak or fair or good or excellent, etc. Numbers mean different things to different people, so using words to describe the throw might be better.

Red Velvet Cupcake
"This bakery favorite opens with fresh frosting, orange zest, and dark berries. Sweet chocolate and cake batter combine with rich vanilla and brown sugar for a scrumptious, signature finish.
A pleasant cupcake type scent with chocolate notes and maybe a smidgeon of coconut. The chocolate is not a rich dark or overwhelming chocolate, but more of a light milk chocolate. There's also a very slight floral or perfumey quality. Looking at the scent notes, I guess I detect a smidgeon of berries and maybe that's the floral I think I smell. I don't smell orange at all, and I'm surprised there's no coconut.
Throw: Good

Black Amber Plum
"Sweet plums with a sparkle of mandarin leads into the floralcy of jasmine. A warm background of exotic black amber, vetiver, patchouli and musk create an elegant ending."
I definitely smell plum, but it also smells a little like some kind of dark fruity cough syrup, but in a good way. It has a "fig" note which makes it smell "classy". It might also have a very slight bakery note that makes it smell a little like some kind of thick dark fruity filling in a cake. It's a nice, rich plum scent. The scent started dissipating within 2 hours though.
Throw: Good

Golden Peach Vanilla
"Bright, fruity accords of sliced peaches, orange and lemon zest are blended with cinnamon and brown sugar for a rich and luscious experience. Highlights of buttery cake crumbs and vanilla extract emphasize this incredible flavor. "
On cold sniff, this is amazing, a super rich sweet vanilla pastry scent with a very slight rich raspberry note, and just a smidgeon of peach. Looking at the scent notes, I'm surprised there's no raspberry in there. I don't smell orange or lemon though. I really wanted this one to throw well, but disappointingly it didn't. In fact, while melting if I stick my nose really close the warmer, it has a little bit of a burnt chemical smell, and that's only after about a half hour. It smells so good on cold sniff though that I'm tempted to keep it just to open up the package and sniff it every now and then!
Throw: None

Blueberry Limeade
"Delight in this refreshing blend with notes of sweet lime, lemon, blueberry and strawberry. White sugar and vanilla sweeten this thirst quenching aroma."
This smells like a lime based alcoholic beverage, but I also smell the tart fruitiness of the blueberry. Sadly, the scent dissipated within only 2 hours.
Throw: Fair

Soothing Coconut
"The milky sweet aroma of an island true coconut. Bust it open and have a soothing sip. Orange, pineapple, coconut, musk, and vanilla. "
This is not a "fake" tropical coconut scent, but more of a light coconut with vanilla and a nutty note. Very nice. Looking at the scent notes, yes I think I do smell a slight pineapple note, but I don't smell orange or musk. Melted, this is a fantastic sweet coconut with a vanilla note and a smidgeon of pineapple.
Throw: Excellent

Clementine & Mango
"Bright and juicy notes of clementine, mango nectar, and pink grapefruit are accented by a heart of jasmine and succulent pineapple. This fun and fruity fragrance is finished with notes of warm amber, creamy sandalwood, and musk."
I can't figure out the notes in this one. I guess I smell mango and maybe a slight tangerine note, which may be the clementine. Looking at the scent notes, OK I do smell a pinch of pineapple and grapefruit. It smells sweet and juicy. Nice scent, but very similar to a lot of other scents.
Throw: Fair

Sunset Sparkle
"Enjoy the sparkle of a tropical sunset. Top notes of sweet berry and mandarin. The middle blends jasmine, and honeysuckle. The bottom combines amber, vanilla and a light essence of sandalwood. "
This smells a lot like ScentSationals Love Letters, but with a slight tropical fruit note. It smells like cashmere/amber with a hint of almond and a smidgeon of tropical fruit.
Throw: Weak

Tahitian Citrus
"Indulge in this mouth watering fruit medley as fresh lime zest, lemon sugar and sparkling grapefruit are touched with accents of whipped meringue, vanilla bean, sugar cane and Tahitian musk. "
This smells like rich salty lemon with maybe a hint of orange, but not like a drink, or even really bakery. There's also a touch of something savory in the background (which might be the grapefruit). It's really yummy, and it lasted all day. It smells a lot like Golden Peach Vanilla.
Throw: Excellent

A Christmas Story
"This is a cool balsam scent with notes of pine, orange blossom, and caramel musk. "
On cold sniff, it smells like neroli or some kind of orange blossom type of perfume, with pine and maybe a hint of eucalyptus, although it's not minty at all. It also has a musty note, but not in a bad way. It's a very nice, unique scent. Looking at the scent notes, they're right on! Melted, I only smell the musty pine and none of the orange blossom or caramel, but it's a unique pine, more like a spruce (not as savory as pine), similar to Colonial Candles Blue Spruce. Very nice, and it lasted all day.
Throw: Excellent

Autumn Romance
"Love is in the air with notes of warm amber crystals, brushed suede, creamy sandalwood, sensual amber, and sugared musk. "
On cold sniff, it smells like a sweet cashmere/amber type perfume with a smidgeon of apple notes and possibly a barely detectable smidgeon of patchouli. Melted, I don't smell any fruit or apple, just a beautiful rich, warm, soft cashmere amber scent, similar to Better Homes & Gardens Soft Cashmere Amber, but richer.
Throw: Excellent

Vanilla Pumpkin Waffle
"This decadent scent infuses delicious accords of pumpkin, butter and apple with a blend of pecans, maple and cinnamon. Vanilla, sugar, tonka and musk add depth for a mouthwatering experience. "
This is a super yummy scent that smells, well just like vanilla waffles. I don't smell pumpkin (not sure what that smells like anyway) or any type of fall spices, which is good. And there's no maple. It smells just like warm thick doughy waffles with butter and a little bit of powdered sugar (although it's not really a sweet scent), and possibly a couple of nuts since it has a slightly nutty note. Actually it kind of smells like funnel cake. Looking at the scent notes, I don't smell apple, maple, or cinnamon at all.
Throw: Excellent

Summer Sherbet
"Summer Sherbet is a rainbow of flavors. With orange, lemon, lime, peach and raspberry. "
This smells like berry flavored Kool-Aid. I smell a "Tang" powdered orange type scent, and maybe also lemon and some kind of red berry. Melted, it has a bit of a fake citrus cleaner note, not a kitchen lemon but maybe some kind of floor cleaner with a hint of lime. It's a nice refreshing scent but not my favorite. Throw wasn't great either, and the scent was gone within 3 hours.
Throw: Fair

Sipping Tea
"This delightfully refreshing fragrance blends tea leaves with bursts of chilled lemonade and lime juice while accords of pear nectar, crystallized sugar, mimosa and musk adds a soothing sensation. "
This smells like salty lemon sugar with a note of black tea. It's like sweetened iced tea with lemon. The tea notes are light, and it's not a chai tea. Very nice scent. Looking at the scent notes, I don't detect mimosa (floral?) or musk, but there is a slight warmth in the background that may be the musk. When melted, I smell more of the tea.
Throw: Excellent

Toasty Hot Toddy
"The scent of toasty hot toddy is a delicious maple treat. It is concocted with the sweet notes of buttery toasted pecans, dark rum, and cinnamon sticks. "
This smells like rich cinnamon french toast with butter, maple syrup, and nuts. It's a yummy fall scent. Looking at the scent notes, they're right on. Although this is definitely a bakery scent rather than a beverage.
Throw: Excellent

Pineapple Sea Spray
"This unique blend combines fresh ocean water with freshly cut pineapple. Enjoy top notes of bergamot, pineapple and fresh watery ozone. The middle combines pink peppercorn, white peach and light jasmine. The bottom contains blonde woods, skin musk and a light dose of vanilla. "
Even if you're not a fan of pineapple scents (like me), you might still like this one because the pineapple note is more in the background. This smells like a fresh clean body wash with a salty ocean note and just a bit of pineapple in the background to give it a slightly tropical vibe. Nice and summery! Looking at the notes, I think I do detect a smidgeon of peach and floral. This one lasted for 24 hours!
Throw: Excellent

Black Leather
"Top notes of leather and bergamot. Suede, cardamom and moss enrich the heart leading into warming base notes of amber, musk, cedar and sandalwood. "
I'm so glad I took a chance on this one, as I was afraid it would just smell like leather. But it's so much more. It smells like leather, tobacco, clove, and smoky wood. A nice warm, masculine scent. The tobacco is not a sweet pipe tobacco, but more of a cigarette tobacco, but not in a bad way. This is not a sweet scent, nor is it a cologne, scent, but there is a slight cologne note that gives it a hint of sweetness. The smokiness is almost like a liquid smoke scent, but it's not overwhelming at all. Looking at the scent notes, it's probably the musk that gives it that cologney note. Actually, now that it's going strong in the room, that smoky note is more of a cigar or ashtray scent, which sounds bad, but there are so many other notes in this scent that blend into it to make it smell really good. As much as I like this scent, I'm not sure if I want my whole house to smell like this.
Throw: Very Good

Cranberry
"A tart, bright blend of fresh berries and lemon, sweetened with raw sugar and vanilla. Enjoy fresh blackberries, lemon, raspberry, cranberry wine, raw sugar crystals and vanilla. "
I do smell the tartness of the cranberry, but it's not an authentic cranberry scent. It's more like a cranberry punch, and I think there's some other kind of fruit in there. Looking at the scent notes, I don't detect lemon, but I think I detect blackberries and maybe also the raspberries. And I see cranberry wine, which explains the hint of that sour fermentation note that I smell on cold sniff (but not enough to be annoying), but thankfully I don't smell when melting. When melted, I just smell cranberry punch.
Throw: Excellent

Confetti Cake
"This flavorsome fragrance opens with a fruity blend of red berry, orange, mandarin and peach leading to a sweet, silky mix of whipped butter, vanilla and sugar for the ultimate delight. "
I smell sugary lemon and maybe also an orange note and possibly a touch of red berry, but also a smidgeon of a vanilla cupcake note. Looking at the scent notes, I'm really surprised I don't see lemon. This is a yummy "Fruit Loops" type scent, and it smells a lot like Golden Peach Vanilla and also Tahitian Citrus.
Throw: Very Good

Pumpkin Caramel Swirl
"A warm and scrumptious creamy caramel treat with notes of sweet orange pumpkin, pumpkin puree, buttery vanilla and brown sugar. "
This is a yummy milky caramel with a rich buttery brown sugar note and what might be a smidgeon of coffee but is probably actually the pumpkin. On cold sniff I don't smell any cinnamon, but when melted I do, even though it's not in the scent notes. This is a very sweet caramel, not a salted caramel, although it does have a little bit of salt. It smells fantastic.
Throw: Very Good

Georgia Peach
"Enjoy juicy pink grapefruit, orange slices, mango, sweet coconut and woods."
This smells just like a juicy peach! It doesn't have that fake peach note that a lot of peach scents have, the kind that smells like cheap peach scented air freshener. This smells like the real fruit, but there's something else in there too that I can't figure out, that gives it a slight banana note. The closest peach scent I can compare this to is Mainstays Peach & Mango, as they both smell authentic. The Mainstays has that slight mango note that gives it a tropical vibe, and it's not as sweet, but it does smell more "natural". Whereas the Goose Creek is sweeter and "juicier", like peach nectar. OK, looking at the scent notes, I think the banana is really the mango and coconut, and now that I know coconut is in there, I do detect it. I don't smell orange though.
Throw:  Very Good
