Everyone should have at least a couple of Trapp Wax Melts in their scented wax melt collection. These are high quality luxury melts. These are not scents that you melt in your kid's room or put by the cat litter box. They're meant to be savored, like a fine wine! So get out the champagne and strawberries, draw a bath, and enjoy the sophisticated scent of a Trapp wax melt.

Most of these scents are different from scents I've smelled in any other wax melt brand. They're incredibly authentic and realistic. Many of them smell like the inside of an upscale furniture store or expensive hotel. And most of them had excellent throw, several of which were scent monsters that took over the house. And for the most part, the scents lasted a very long time, many hours, even an entire day.

They are expensive, $7.50 for 2.6 oz. of wax that would cost $2.00 to $3.00 at a local store. You can buy 3 for $20, which works out to $6.67. That's still expensive, but then again, the scents are phenomenal, and these are luxury melts that you're not going to buy every day.

The wax is quite soft and messy, greasy and slippery, and some have watery oil on the surface. I had a few bars slip out of my hands as the heat from my hands started melting them. The wax is also difficult to get out of the package because of how slippery it is and because of the shape of the wax. Like most wax melts out there, the pieces are scored so that you can easily break them apart. But the pieces are different sizes, so unless you've used this brand before, you won't know how much to put into the warmer. I've figured that the largest piece (in the top corner) is roughly the size of one regular sized cube of wax. The smaller pieces can be put into the warmer two at a time. So although you get 9 sections of wax, you really get 6 melts out of them, which is standard among wax melts. You also have to make sure that when you're done, the plastic package snaps completely shut. With a couple of them I went back and saw that one end had not snapped shut when I thought I had closed them. A small opening could allow the oils to seep out and cause a mess, and cause the scent to dissipate in time when mixed with the air.

In summary, I feel that the "pros" of these fantastic, sophisticated, high quality, authentic, excellent throwing, long lasting scents outweigh the "cons" of the high price, messy wax, and difficult packaging.

On October 6, 2017 I reviewed the Trapp Fragrances Fall & Winter seasonal scents at http://www.scentedwaxreviews.com/2017/10/trapp-fragrances-wax-melts-reviews-fall-winter-2017.html.

No. 28 - Bamboo Sugar Cane

Description: Notes from the heart of the sugar cane with a burst of citrus, enhanced with a touch of green bamboo

Notes: Touch of Green Bamboo; Sugar Cane; Burst of Citrus

My Review:
I smell a tropical fruit scent with a strong green note. It's a tiny bit like pineapple but not nearly as sweet, and with a smidgeon of a woodsy or peppery note. It also has a very fresh, crisp note, with maybe a smidgeon of lemon (looking at the scent notes, there's the citrus). Bamboo scent is very green with a light, fruity tone, which is actually what I'm smelling here. It's a very natural, authentic scent. Despite the sugar cane note, this is not an overly sweet scent, since natural sugar cane is a green scent, and sugar itself does not have a scent unless it's mixed with something else sweet like vanilla. I really like this scent! It's so exotic and unique, and my description doesn't do it justice.

Throw: Very good, 3 or 3.5 out of 5

No. 70 - Black Orchid Ylang

Description: Full of mystery and intrigue, this fragrance captures the beauty of the rare black orchid and enhances it with exotic essence of the ylang ylang flower

Notes: Ylang Ylang Flower; Black Orchid; Jasmine

My Review:
I've smelled this scent before and it's very familiar, so I probably have this scent in another brand but I don't remember which one. It's quite nice, a slightly bitter floral like an iris, not overly sweet, and with a warm ambery note. It does smell a bit like ylang ylang.

Throw: Excellent, 4 out of 5

No. 13 - Bob's Flower Shoppe

Description: Imagine walking into an open air flower market – you are enveloped by the fragrance of all the flowers, freshly cut green stems, and water droplets on each petal.

Notes: Mélange of Fresh Florals; Cut Green Stems; Aqueous Notes

My Review:
This one might be my favorite. I've never smelled a floral scented wax melt that smells so realistic! The scent description describes it perfectly. It smells like walking into a flower shop or hothouse. I smell honeysuckle and lilies and daisies, as well as a slightly bitter green note that makes this scent smell so authentic, like real flowers without that overly sweet perfumey note. Fantastic, realistic scent!

Throw: Excellent, 5 out of 5, scent monster that took over the whole house, and lasted for 6 to 7 hours

No. 66 - Fig & Mimosa

Description: The perfect balance of bright and spicy. Ripe figs and delicate mimosa blooms are complemented by the richness of blonde woods.

Notes: Ripe Fig; Mimosa Blossoms; Blonde Woods

My Review:
This smells like a softer, warmer, fruitier version of the Mediterranean Fig scent. It smells a lot like the Wild Currant scent as well, but with different notes. It's a fantastic scent, with almost a yummy quality.

Throw: Good, 3 out of 5, and scent lasted 2 or 3 hours

No. 8 - Fresh Cut Tuberose

Description: Tuberose is a tropical white flower with an intense, heady floral fragrance that reminds you of a gardenia, only more powerful and memorable

Notes: French Tuberose; Heady White Florals; Fresh Green Notes

My Review:
Tuberose is one of my favorite floral scents. It smells like gardenia, but richer and warmer. This scent is an authentic tuberose with a sweet perfumey note. Fantastic! My roommate says it smells like suntan lotion, and I do smell that a little.

Throw: Excellent, 5 out of 5, scent monster that took over the whole house, and the scent lasted 12 hours!

No. 71 - Indigo Acai

Description: Rich tropical berry notes blended with aromatic white floral notes of Gardenia and Jasmine. Creamy vanilla notes and White Musk add warmth to compliment this bright and lively fragrance.

Notes: Acai Berry; White Florals; Creamy Vanilla

My Review:
This smells like Scentsy Luna, ScentSationals Blackberry Cider, and Goose Creek Blackberry Parfait, but with slightly different notes. It's a very popular type of scent with a warm rich cashmere amber and hint of rich blackberries or plum. This version is richer and more full-bodied and slightly less sweet than other versions I've smelled. It's so rich it almost has a very slight sweet tobacco note. Very nice!

Throw: Excellent, 4 out of 5

No. 60 - Jasmine Gardenia

Description: Classic, sophisticated and stylish. An exquisite combination of the timelessness of jasmine and the heart notes of gardenia with a hint of honeysuckle top notes.

Notes: Gardenia; Night Blooming Jasmine; Hint of Honeysuckle

My Review:
My 3 favorite floral notes together! It's hard to tell them apart sometimes, but all I know is this scent is sweet and warm and fantastic. I think I smell the gardenia the most. It's sweet and a little perfumey, but with just enough "greenness" to make it smell authentic.

Throw: Excellent, 5 out of 5, scent monster that took over the whole house, and scent lasted over 8 hours

No. 25 - Lavender de Provence

Description: True lavender, found only in Provence, the lavender capital of the world. A lavender so refined and accurate that it was previously only found in perfumes.

Notes: French Lavender; Clary Sage; Hint of Vanilla

My Review:
This is the most authentic lavender scent I've ever smelled in a wax melt, like lavender essential oil, or like rubbing lavender flowers from the plant between your fingers. There's a smidgeon of sweetness to keep it from smelling medicinal (the vanilla).

Throw: Excellent, 5 out of 5, scent monster that took over the whole house. Scent lasted 4 or 5 hours.

No. 10 - Lemongrass Verbena (not pictured)

Description: Crisp citrus notes extracted from Asian lemongrass complemented by Brazilian verbena and softened with base notes of vanilla.

Notes: Asian Lemongrass; Brazilian Verbena; Hint of Vanilla

My Review:
I smell both the lemongrass and the verbena. It's a clean, tart lemony scent with just a hint of a soapy note, and even a smidgen of what smells a bit like citronella. I don't really smell the vanilla, although there is a hint of sweetness that could be the vanilla.

Throw: Very good, 3.5 out of 5

No. 14 - Mediterranean Fig

Description: Sophisticated and fruity at the same time, reminiscent of a fresh fig ripened in the warm Tuscan sun

Notes: Tuscan Fig; Hint of Melon; Blonde Woods

My Review:
A very green, almost grassy, bitter fruit scent with a smidgeon of a raw wood note. I didn't like this one at first, but then it kind of grew on me.

Throw: Excellent, 4 out of 5

No. 4 - Orange Vanilla

Description: The perfect combination of crisp orange notes elevated by the exquisite addition of Tahitian vanilla

Notes: Brazilian Orange; Tahitian Vanilla

My Review:
This smells like a homemade orange creamsicle. The orange is very authentic and smells like real orange juice mixed with vanilla and sugar. It's sweet of course, but not a fake cloyingly candy sweetness.

Throw: Excellent, 5 out of 5, scent monster that took over the whole house, and the scent lasted 8 hours!

No. 61 - Quince & Pomegranate

Description: Sun-ripened quince & fresh pomegranate with top notes of Asiatic Lily

Notes: Sun-Ripened Quince; Fresh Pomegranate; Asiatic Lily

My Review:
A nice authentic slightly earthy scent with a fruity note, and not very sweet. It smells a bit like fig or currant, a sophisticated fruit scent. It's a nice scent, but I don't like it as much as most of the others as it has a slightly bitter note.

Throw: Very good, 3 or 3.5 out of 5, and lasted 5 or 6 hours.

No. 39 - Sexy Cinnamon

Description: Sultry, smooth and sophisticated - cinnamon like you have never experienced before. It's not your Grandma's cinnamon.

Notes: Natural Cinnamon; Blonde Woods; Aromatic Spices

My Review:
This is a subtle "atmospheric" cinnamon scent, not a bakery or holiday or Big Red cinnamon. The cinnamon is not strong at all. I also smell subtle cloves or maybe a light wood note and maybe a floral or incense note in the background. I'm not a fan of straight cinnamon scents, but I like this one.

Throw: Very good, 3 or 3.5 out of 5

No. 68 - Teak & Oud Wood

Description: A modern blend of dark woody and sophisticated sweet notes. Madagascar vanilla and Tonka Bean balance out this fragrance to create a smooth and spicy aroma.

Notes: Teak; Oud Wood; Madagascar Vanilla

My Review:
This is an intense, resinous wood scent. I can smell the oud (the resinous wood note that smells almost like the sap of a tree, with a slight green note). It has a tiny bit of sweetness that I think is vanilla, but it's mostly kind of bitter, but in a good way. Looking at the scent notes, there's the vanilla. There's no smokiness at all in this scent. It's a sophisticated scent, like something you would smell when you walk into an expensive furniture store.

Throw: Excellent, 3.5 or 4 out of 5

No. 20 - Water

Description: The ozonic, watery notes are unlike anything you have ever experienced. This sophisticated, clean fragrance will astound you with its fresh and energizing spirit.

Notes: Ozonic Aqueous Notes; Slight Hint of Floral

My Review:
This smells like a sophisticated yet fun spring perfume scent with a little bit of a laundry note, and not overly sweet.

Throw: Very good, 3.5 out of 5, and lasted about 4 hours.

No. 64 - White Lotus & Lychee (not pictured)

Description: An exotic fragrance that captures the delicate beauty of the white lotus flower enhanced with fresh lychee fruit and creamy jasmine rice.

Notes: White Lotus Flower; Fresh Lychee; Creamy Jasmine Rice

My Review:
I can't figure out what this smells like, but it's nice. I smell a slightly tropical fig like fruit with a creamy background and maybe a smidgeon of light wood and a hint of orange. I think there's a hint of floral in there too. This smells authentic and natural, and not overly sweet. I don't know what lychee is supposed to smell like, but according to online research, it's a fresh, fruity, citrusy scent but not too sweet, like a mild rosy juicy grape.

Throw: Very good, 3.5 out of 5.

No. 24 - Wild Currant

Description: The perfect currant. It captures the fresh, fruity taste with an unforgettable blend of red and black currant.

Notes: Red Currant; Cassis; Hint of Green Notes

My Review:
Currant is one of my favorite scents. It's a very slightly tart, fig-like, classy and sophisticated soapy scent with a very slight berry note and only a smidgeon of sweetness. When mixed with other scents, it gives the scent a "classy" note. It's a little like cranberry, but sweeter and not as tart. Looking at the scent notes, cassis is a type of currant, similar to fig, with slight cedar, clove and patchouli notes. Although I don't smell clove or patchouli in this scent, but there is a smidgeon of light wood which could be a cedar note.

Throw: Excellent, 4 or 5 out of 5, and lasted 5 or 6 hours.

Added September 11, 2017:
No. 41- Black Pepper

Description: Dark and aromatic, full of romance and intrigue. Notes of black peppercorn, anise and balsam wood lend to its unique character.

Notes: Black peppercorn, pink peppercorn, anise, balsam wood

My Review:
A unique scent, this smells like black pepper powder with just a barely noticeable hint of sweetness and maybe a smidgen of a woodsy note or even pine. I like this one.

Throw: Not Good, 2 or 2.5 out of 5, but this is a discontinued scent that I bought at the store "Tuesday Morning". It's probably quite old and may have been opened and sniffed by a lot of people.
