These are 6 brand new Kohl's Sonoma winter wax melt scents as of October 20, 2017. These melts use very soft wax, a different consistency from the other new Sonoma winter melts which use the hard wax (which I reviewed last week at http://www.scentedwaxreviews.com/2017/10/sonoma-wax-melts-review-kohls-winter-2017.html.

Falling Snow

Notes: Frosted peppermint, spun sugar and sweet vanilla

This is the same scent as Falling Snow from 2015 (which I reviewed in November 2015). I said in 2015 that this is "pure mint, with just a hint of sweetness. It's not sweet enough to be a candy cane scent", but this one does smell slightly sweeter, but still not quite as sweet as a candy cane or mint candies, and no creaminess. It's peppermint, like the center of a peppermint patty. Also has a little bit of a sinus-clearing effect. A nice chilly scent that almost makes the room feel cold, this would be a great scent to melt on a hot summer day!

Throw: Bold, 4 out of 5 in 2015 (hard wax), and throw for new softer wax is Medium (3 or 3.5 out of 5).

Frosted Woodland Pine

Notes: Pine, balsam fir and cool musk

There was a Woodland Pine in 2016, but this is a different scent. This is a very nice pine scent with a smoky note. It's not a biting pine. I don't smell musk or any perfumey notes. It has a blue spruce note to it, which gives it a bit of richness or depth.

Throw: Medium, 3 out of 5

Merry & Bright

Notes: Citrus, vanilla and musk

This is not a holiday scent. It's a fantastic super sweet marshmallowy vanilla fruity scent (raspberry or blackberry) with a sweet musky note. It's sweeter and more fruity and perfumey than Pink Sugar, and it's not a cotton candy scent either. I would describe it as raspberry vanilla marshmallow perfume. Looking at the scent notes, I'm surprised I don't see any fruit notes. I don't smell citrus at all (lemon, orange or grapefruit). I love this one!

Someone in the Facebook group asked if this is a dupe of last year's Snow Days scent (which I reviewed at http://www.scentedwaxmeltreviews.com/2016/10/sonoma-winter-holiday-2016-wax-melts.html). I sniffed both Snow Days and Merry & Bright side by side, and they're a bit similar but not the same. Merry & Bright has more of a marshmallowy perfume note and the fruit is less "provocative", if that makes sense, so it's more of a raspberry or cherry note than Snow Days. Snow Days is a deep rich warm sweet ambery blackberry scent, and smells a lot like ScentSationals Blackberry Cider, Goose Creek Blackberry Parfait, and Scentsy Luna.

Throw: Strong, 3.5 or 4 out of 5

Silent Night

Notes: Pine, sandalwood and musk

This scent has returned from 2016, and it's the same exact scent despite different notes (2016 notes: "Amber pairs with aromatic notes of pine and lavender layered on top of sweet sandalwood"). The new notes seem to be the correct ones (I don't smell lavender in this scent).
This smells a lot like 2015 Sonoma Harvest Moon and Autumn Hayride scents, but with some different notes. I smell pine first, with a smoky background and a very slight sweetness which may be a smidgen of a cologne note. Very nice scent!

Throw: Strong, 3.5 or 4 out of 5

White Birch & Pomegranate

Notes: White birch, pomegranate and fir needle

This smells like cranberry and pine on cold sniff, but when melted it also has a slightly sour note that I don't care for. It's not a sweet scent at all, despite the cranberry (pomegranate).

Throw: Medium, 3 or 3.5 out of 5

Winter Blessings

Notes: Peppermint, buttercream and vanilla

This smells like a sweet peppermint vanilla cookie.

Throw: Strong, 3.5 or 4 out of 5
